- Chapter 66: Shared Umbrella and Aira ②
“Come to think of it, we never exchanged contact info before.”
“Aira came to Ryoma-senpai’s part-time job every day, so it wasn’t that inconvenient… but I’d still like to have the contact info of people I’m close to. So… is it okay to exchange?”
“Yeah, that’s totally fine.”
“Thanks!”
“No, I should be thanking you.”
When they first met, Aira had been intrigued by Ryoma because he resembled a character from a certain manga. Now, it was finally time for them to exchange contact info, and that made Aira really happy. Her voice reflected her excitement.
“Ryoma-senpai, what social media do you use? LINE? Twitter?”
“I use both, actually.”
“Wait, really!? I want to see Ryoma-senpai’s Twitter! Then let’s exchange both!”
“…I don’t really post anything on my Twitter, though.”
“Doesn’t matter, doesn’t matter! Let’s do LINE first!”
“Got it.”
Ryoma turned around to check if anyone was around. Once he saw the sidewalk was clear, he stopped and took his phone out of his pocket.
“I’ll scan the QR code.”
“Alright, then I’ll give you the code.”
“Yeees.”
Ryoma opened the LINE app and displayed the QR code. Aira scanned it with her phone, and the add button appeared.
“I added Ryoma-senpai.”
“Yeah, I’ll add you too.”
The “Friend Added” notification appeared at the top right, confirming they had exchanged contact info. Aira’s LINE account was named “Aira” in hiragana, and her profile picture was… an edited image of a gacha-style pill bug.
“Wait, that profile picture is the pill bug I gave you, huh…”
“It’s cute, right? I added a heart and some effects to it.”
“Can you at least change the pill bug’s form a bit?”
“I can’t change what it looks like, but you still seem happy about it, Ryoma-senpai.”
“Shut up. Alright, let’s exchange Twitter next.”
“Okay, okay.”
Next up was the Twitter exchange.
“Ryoma-senpai, what’s your user ID?”
“My ID’s all random, with letters and numbers, so could you just tell me yours? It’d be easier than me typing it out.”
After getting advice from Himeno about how to search, Ryoma had become pretty good at this by now.
“You should definitely set up an ID, though. It’ll be useful when exchanging.”
“I don’t really use Twitter that much, so it’s fine.”
“Stop lying. Okay, I’ll tell you mine.”
“Thanks.”
“Okay, first is the @ symbol, then A, like the letter A…”
Aira verbally told Ryoma her user ID, and he typed it in manually.
“…Alright, done.”
“Ah, here it is.”
Ryoma tapped the account, casually scrolling through it.
“…Why the heck does this account have so many followers?”
“Isn’t 500 following and 2200 followers pretty crazy? I think it grew because people from other schools started following me.”
“You’re pretty popular…”
Aira’s Twitter profile picture was a cute selfie with her friend. It was the kind of image that could attract people, and no doubt some followers were interested in talking to her just because of how cute she looked. This meant Aira’s reputation was already spreading at different schools.
“But seriously, if you don’t follow me soon, I can’t see your account.”
“Sorry, I followed you just now.”
“Oh, the notification came through… wait, hahah! Your follower count is 1! And your profile picture is still the default one!”
Compared to Aira’s follower count, which was impressive, Ryoma’s numbers looked pitiful. After all, he only had a single follower.
“I told you, I don’t really use it.”
“And I’m the second one! Just two people followed you! Who’s the other one? It has to be someone who’s the closest to you, right—”
Aira happily scrolled through Ryoma’s followers. But then, she suddenly froze.
“W-What’s wrong? Why are you suddenly so stiff?”
“Th-this… this is…!”
“Ah…”
Aira, who loved manga, especially romantic comedies, recognized the account immediately. The one following Ryoma was none other than someone she knew very well—an account she herself followed.
A famous manga artist with 160,000 followers.
“W-why… why is Devil-chan following you?! Why is Devil-chan your first follower?!”
Aira’s surprise was completely understandable.
