I Secretly Healed the Illness of the Twin Princesses While Wearing a Mask, and Now the Entire Kingdom Is in an Uproar ~Please Stop Trying to Expose the Street Healer~ - Chapter 8
The day after the entrance ceremony.
Garu, the huge Siberian Husky, shook my body to wake me up.
He might get mad if I said this, but being woken up every morning by a big dog was a dream of mine from my previous life.
“Hey, hey, hey, Asuku!! What did you do!?”
“Huh, what?”
“Don’t huh me!! The princess came to pick you up!!”
“Eh?”
I looked out the window and saw Christina in front of the boys’ dorm.
When our eyes met, she smiled and waved at me.
“Ah, yeah. I also joined the student council, so maybe it’s just school-related.”
“I-Is that so? But she’s waving with a huge smile like it’s not just school stuff.”
“Yeah.”
Yesterday, in the student council room, Victoria had made a plan to break the engagement between Christina and Duke Arnall.
The idea was.
“To make our father accept breaking the engagement with Duke Arnall, you should pretend to be in love with Asuku.”
Apparently.
The king himself doesn’t mind breaking the engagement if Christina has someone she really likes, so it seemed like a reasonable plan.
The scenario went like this.
Originally, my sister and Christina get along because of their search for the “Faceless,” and through that, I got to know her, too.
Then, as I helped search for the “Faceless,” Christina gradually started to like me…
Or so the plan went.
How is it for a royal with a fiancé to develop feelings for another guy? I wondered.
My sister also gave Christina a pretty intense look.
For now, the plan was to act like we were connected through student council work and, after a few months, make it seem like we had gotten closer or not.
Once the “Faceless” was found, the fake relationship would end. It was basically a contract romance.
“Good morning, Your Highness.”
“Good morning, Asuku.”
I changed into my uniform and went outside to greet Christina.
We would just chat casually on the way to the school building.
“I apologize for troubling you with my selfishness.”
“Don’t worry about it. There are some benefits for me too.”
“I’m glad you say that, it helps a lot.”
Of course, there was a reason I agreed.
Because as a royal, I got special permission to read any book in the library’s restricted section, a place normally off-limits.
The magic academy’s library held all kinds of knowledge in books.
And the restricted section must have all sorts of hidden knowledge.
I was sure it would help me develop new healing magic.
…Or so I hoped.
“Why would a viscount’s son be with the princess…”
“Because the princess gets along with the viscount’s daughter, I guess. I don’t understand why she keeps an incompetent healer, someone who couldn’t even cure the sick by her side.”
“I also don’t like that he got into the student council through connections, leaving out higher-ranking nobles.”
The nobles passing by, especially those of earl rank or higher, gave me sharp looks.
This is stressful.

“I’ve got to get rid of all this stress!!”
So, late at night, I decided to head out into the royal capital.
Even at midnight, the streets were busy.
After Victoria’s kidnapping, more knights and soldiers were patrolling the city, so I had to be careful with my street healing.
“Alright, where should I strike ―Cough, cough. Should I heal first?”
There were three options.
First, the barracks for knights and soldiers. Next, the Adventurer’s Guild. Finally, the biggest hospital.
The knights and soldiers train day and night, so there must be plenty of injuries.
The Adventurer’s Guild gets new injuries almost every day…
And the hospital had the most seriously ill patients.
“Yeah, no question!! I’m going to the hospital!!”
Wearing a plague mask and a pitch-black coat, I headed to the largest hospital in the royal capital.
As expected, the place was heavily guarded.
“Who are you!? Suspicious person!!”
“Wait… that outfit… could you be the rumored Faceless!?”
“Too bad!! I’m the Faceless subordinate… The Mysterious Healer Man!! Hyahaha!!”
I knocked out the guards and barged into the hospital.
Oh, don’t worry, as I made sure to heal the guards I knocked out.
Huh? Too many problems? It’s important not to sweat the small stuff.
“Any sick people here!? Any injured people!?”
“W-who are you!?”
“You… you’re sick!? Your face looks awful!! Don’t worry, I’ll make you feel better right away!!”
“P-please, s-spare my life!!”
“Of course!! I’ll save your life!! Extra Heal!!”
“W-wait, my body feels better…?”
I went through the hospital, healing every sick and injured person I could find.
Some mistook me for a robber and begged for their lives, but I ignored them and healed them anyway. They ended up thanking me.
Being thanked by people feels amazing!!
“Hyahaha!! You thought you could escape me!? Fools!! Every single one of you will be healthy here!! Extra Heal!!”
“Whoa!! My arm healed after my wife broke it for cheating!?”
“Next up!! Extra Heal!!”
“Ugh, my leg moves again! My crazy girlfriend poisoned me, and now I can walk!?”
I finished treating all the patients who had been admitted.
But then, I heard cries for help from other suffering patients…
“Hyahaha!! I can hear sick people screaming from underground!!”
I moved a bookshelf in what seemed to be the director’s office of the hospital, and a door to the basement appeared.
Going down, I found a dozen or so patients waiting there.
But these weren’t just normal sick or injured people…
“All of you have the Meatball Disease.”
They were girls suffering from the same illness that Christina and Victoria had, the disease that makes one’s flesh rot all over one’s body.
It was just caused by uncontrolled magic, so the treatment itself didn’t take long…
“U-um!! Please help us!! We’ve been locked up here all this time!!”
“Locked up?”
“Y-Yes!! Please, get us out of here…!”
“…Hmm.”
This was seriously bad. Locking up sick people in a basement? That’s scary.
Were they planning to use them for experiments or something? If they wanted to test something, why not use themselves instead of little girls?
While thinking this, I took out a bag of money and a ring from my pocket and handed them to the girls.
“Take this money and head to the Medix Viscount territory. If you meet a group called the ‘Nightingale: Healers With No Restraint,’ show them this ring and explain everything. They’ll protect you.”
The ring was proof that they were part of the ‘Nightingale: Healers With No Restraint.’
After getting the trapped patients safely out of the royal capital, I moved on to the Adventurer’s Guild and healed every injured person I could find there, too.
What a perfect stress relief!!
So, after the hospital and the Adventurer’s Guild, the next stop is the knights’ and soldiers’ barracks.
I guess I’ll plan the next raid while I sleep. Sounds like a plan.
The next day.
The “Mysterious Healer Man” had been officially listed as a wanted criminal in the royal capital as a serial healer.
…What even is a serial healer!?
