I Reincarnated as the Villain Who Bullies the Protagonist in an Erotic Game, but I Just Want to Stay a Nobody, Yet Somehow the Heroines Keep Obsessing Over Me - Episode 34: Reunion
Episode 34: Reunion
“Um, it’s been a while.” “It really has. I’m glad to see you again.”
She took a sip of her juice and smiled brightly. Watching her, a nearby server blushed and quickly walked away. Well, that’s no surprise.
After all, Ayame is such an extraordinary beauty that she gets scouted or hit on every five minutes when walking around the city.
Yes, Ayame and I had planned to meet after school today. The location she chose was the same café we’d visited before.
I thought maybe she had something important to discuss, but she was just beaming happily the entire time.
“So, why did you call me so many times?” “Well… is it not enough to say I simply wanted to hear your voice? And because I wanted to see you?”
“I mean, it’s not like it’s a bad thing, but I didn’t expect it. I thought maybe you had something important to talk about.”
“Not at all. I mentioned it before, didn’t I? I wanted to be friends with you first. Friends often meet and hang out, right? I just wanted to do that.”
Ah, so that’s what this is about. Ayame and I had indeed become friends. But whether male and female friends communicate this much, I honestly had no clue. In my past life as a social outcast, I didn’t have much experience in this area.
Ayame’s probably treating me like she does her female friends. If that’s the case, maybe any romantic flag with Ayame has been broken.
The question of whether true friendship can exist between men and women is another matter, but it feels like Ayame doesn’t see me as a romantic interest. That’s partly wishful thinking, of course.
If so, it works out well for me. “Hanging out, huh. Yeah, friends should probably spend more time together.”
“Exactly! So, let me ask—do you have any plans after this?” “No, not today.” That’s right. Since Nagitsuki had track practice today, our usual study session was canceled.
“In that case, would you like to go somewhere after this? There’s a shopping mall nearby, or maybe a movie theater. We could probably find something to do.”
“Yeah, sounds good. There are plenty of options around here.” “Right? Yay! This is my first time going out with a guy!”
Ayame’s face lit up with genuine joy, and seeing her like that, I felt a strange sense of fulfillment too.
Even if being with Ayame would lead to my death, part of me couldn’t help but think it might be worth it to date her—though that’s a dangerously reckless thought…
Afterword
Sorry for the short chapter and the long gap since the last update.
My academic workload has been quite heavy, so I haven’t had much time to write. Even now, things haven’t settled down completely.
I’ll do my best to bring this story to completion, but the update frequency may be slower than before. Thank you for your understanding and support!
