We walked Kaoru home first.

I told Kaoru that I’d walk Kirara home too, but I’m not really sure what to do.

As I was leaving Kirara and heading home,

We heard a voice from behind us.
Turning around, I could see an elderly woman.
“Grandma…”
Kirara muttered.
It was Kirara’s grandmother…
Her face wasn’t drawn in the game so it was the first time I’d seen her.
“What’s wrong, Grandma? …Grocery shopping?”
When I looked at Kirara’s Grandmother’s hands, she was holding an eco bag and looked like she’d just come back from shopping.
“Yes. It wasn’t dark yet so I went to buy some milk since we’d run out. Did Kirara just get back?”
“Yes, that’s right.”
“I see… And the handsome young man here… Is he, by any chance, your boyfriend?”

Kirara said this shyly at what her grandmother had said.

I’ve often heard that grandmothers and grandfathers dote on their grandchildren, and seeing that just now, that does seem to be the case.
Though I’ve come to terms with it, I didn’t grow up with grandparents, so I can’t really understand the experience. It’s… a bit enviable, to be honest.
As I thought about that, I headed back home.
