Chapter 16 – The Teacher Heroine Appears
It’s almost been a month since I entered Tojo Academy.
Despite the lively atmosphere, I thought I was somehow managing to live quietly.
However, I was summoned by my homeroom teacher and one of the heroines, Kanja Shion-sensei.
I was guided to the student guidance room.
The fact that there was a hot water supply for tea and a soft sofa may be typical of a school attended by the upper-class.
After having tea, I relaxed while enjoying the aroma.
Kanja-sensei’s appearance is that of a woman with a gentle and soft demeanor, and a smile that has the leeway of an adult.
Her hair color is purple, and her breasts appear larger than Momo’s.
“Phew, Mitsurugi-kun, I’m sorry for calling you.”
Contrary to her calm demeanor, her voice was firm and lingered in my ears, resonating in the body like an incantation.
“No, what can I help you with today, Kanja-sensei?”
“Well~ nothing in particular. However~”
Her gentle eyes that had been closed opened, and her slightly drooping, soft gaze met mine.
Just being looked at gave me a sense of intimidation, like a frog being stared at by a snake.
Such thoughts crossed my mind as I was stared at by this teacher with such a gentle atmosphere. However, it was only for a moment, and I was quickly released.
“Fufufu, you’re part of the Ryuoin family, after all.”
“Huh?”
“I am from the Kanja family, responsible for divine rituals. I possess slightly unusual powers, and there are students in this school with similar tendencies. Around Mitsurugi-kun, it would be Nekono-san, right? She can apparently see people’s emotions as colors.”
Not necessarily special or strange, but various elements of a gal game scenario were incorporated, causing these girls to struggle with their problems.
Kanja Shion was also one of those troubled by such issues.
“I guess she did say that.”
“Fufufu, So Nekono-san did talk about it with Mitsurugi-kun. That’s a good sign.”
Is she bringing up Mimi to test something? To be honest, Kanja-sensei’s story contains horror elements, so I don’t want to get too involved with it.
She’s on par with Toranomon Akemi, and you could say she’s one of those heroines I don’t want to build a relationship with.
“Is that so?”
“Hmm~ Mitsurugi-kun won’t open up to me?”
She put a smile on her face, but my suspicions got the better of me.
She’s someone I don’t want to be alone with very much.
“I wonder. I think Kanja-sensei will understand even if I don’t say anything.”
“Oh my?”
Kanja-sensei looked surprised at my words.
It’s my bad habit to always want to take control when talking at the other person’s pace.
“Fufufu, what do you mean by that?”
“No, it’s nothing. Well, I don’t think there’s anything to talk about.”
“…Mitsurugi-kun.”
“Yes?”
“I want to be on Mitsurugi-kun’s side.”
“Huh?”
What is she suddenly talking about? Speaking of the Kanja family, they run a shrine where upper-class families request fortune-telling, and it is famous for being used by even big-name politicians and investors.
She, being the daughter of that family, has had a special ability since childhood and has grown older with her own troubles.
As a result, she has a low immunity to men.
In the course of empathizing with the protagonist, she gradually opens up and becomes closer. Surprisingly, she’s a somewhat conventional heroine.
However, she’s not the type of character who would say she wants to be on the protagonist’s side.
Due to her special ability, she tends to keep her distance from people without immunity.
“I don’t understand what you mean.”
“Well, I don’t think you’ll understand even if I tell you, but I’ve heard about your middle school days. And I’ve also looked into your conduct.”
“…Then Kanja-sensei already knows there’s nothing good for her by getting involved with me.”
I tried to get up from my seat.
“After investigating, I decided I want to be on your side.”
“What!?”
“I’ve learned that you’re clumsy, kind, and caring about others. Certainly, there are many things that can’t be praised about you. However, upon closer observation and consideration, I can see that what you did was not wrong. You approached things in a way similar to how teachers like us would think. It’s not right that you are despised.”
Kanja-sensei talked about unnecessary things.
It is pointless to hear more.
Originally, her role is to be an ally of Tatemiya and ultimately expel Ryuoin Taketo.
It’s the same in every scenario, she always delivers the expulsion.
“It’s irrelevant. It doesn’t matter anymore.”
I’m not angry, but I don’t want to revisit things that don’t matter.
“…I think you should learn how to get along better with people.”
“It’s impossible. I have no intention of getting along with others.”
“That’s not true.”
“Huh?”
“It doesn’t matter if it’s just one person, but find someone you care about. If you do that, you might find it easier to get along with others for their sake. People can change their perspective when thinking for someone else rather than just for themselves.”
There was no cheerful smile or intimidating gaze. Just a pair of eyes, looking at me with a worried expression.
“Sigh, I don’t plan on finding someone right away. It’s fine even if I do that after graduating high school and going to college, right?”
“That’s fine. However, I want you to remember. There are those who care about you here. If anything happens, please consult with me. I will handle issues among students equally.”
The fact that she doesn’t explicitly say she’ll be on my side seems to be the truth for Kanja-sensei.
“I appreciate that. I’ll rely on you when the time comes.”
“Yes, please leave it to me. Thank you for coming today. Let’s talk again some time.”
“Yes. If we have another chance.”
I said goodbye to Kanja-sensei and left the room.
