A parody of the nursery rhyme The Bear in the Forest pops into my head… except, of course, the bear is replaced with Megumi-san.

(TL/n: there is a famous Japanese children songs called Mori no kuma san – 森のくまさん. the song tells of a girl in the woods running away from a bear that just wanted to giver her back her white pearl earingneckless depends on the version)

Standing before me and Freesia was my little sister from my previous life, Megumi. Her appearance was exactly like a high school girl on her way to school.

“Onii…!”

“I thought you were some weirdo in a strange outfit, but what nonsense… I’m not your brother. You’ve got the wrong person. The only sibling I have is that fool Siegfried.”

“Hmm… The red thread of fate says Onii is within a three-meter radius… But considering your personality, it’s impossible you’d reincarnate as someone as opposite as Brad. Hmm, hmm.”

Megumi raised her left pinky finger, then crossed her arms, groaning in thought. For someone like Megumi, who usually made snap decisions without overthinking, this was a rare sight.

After mulling it over for a bit, her ahoge suddenly sprung straight up, like she’s had a revelation. She turned to us and declared her conclusion.

“Wait, Onii… Did you TS-reincarnate into Freesia!?”

How did it come to that…?

The idea that a burly guy like me would reincarnate as the delicate beauty Freesia is beyond impossible. Well, as a gag, it’d be pretty funny…

“Even if you turned into a girl, my feelings for you wouldn’t change, Onii!”

Despite meeting for the first time, Megumi ignored me and hugged Freesia.

Megumi touched Freesia’s chest.

Freesia, teased by Megumi’s groping, let out sweet sighs and squirmed. But Megumi’s eyes were dead serious.

“No doubt about it! Onii’s chiseled pecs manifested as giant boobs when he TS-reincarnated into Freesia!”

What kind of logic lead to that? I want to grill Megumi on it, but if I do, she’ll figure out I reincarnated as Brad.

“Freesia-chan! Let’s sleep in the same bed tonight! Sounds good, right? Right?”

What is this? I can’t help but be impressed, albeit belatedly, by my little sister’s social butterfly skills. Suggesting we all sleep together shows she’s still pretty innocent when it comes to adult matters, which, as her brother, is a relief.

She’s old enough to have a boyfriend by now.

While I’m worrying about Megumi, Lily returns from waking the soldiers. Apparently, she overheard our conversation, because she points at Megumi’s chest and starts scolding her.

“You’ve been talking way too familiarly with my Brad-sama and Onee-sama! Just who do you think you are?! This is beyond rude!”

“Whoa! It’s Lily. Still as haughty as ever… Wait, why are Lily and Freesia-chan together? Weren’t you two like cats and dogs…?”

Yup, it’s all my fault, I think…

“Lily’s just as cute as Freesia, though!”

“What!?”

Megumi pets Lily’s head like she’s soothing a small child. Lily’s taken aback but…

“If you want to pet and praise me so badly, do whatever you want…”

“Yup, I will!”

Lily puffed out her cheeks, looking a bit embarrassed but not entirely displeased by Megumi’s petting.

I’m relieved to realize the “monster” was just Megumi. Feeling at ease, I decided to stay somewhere overnight before heading back. As Megumi petted Lily, she piped up.

“I know a village nearby—let’s stay there!”

And so, we headed to the village Megumi suggested.

No way Megumi would get it wrong. I knew right away that Brad is Onii.

But if I’d said out loud that Onii reincarnated as Brad, he’d definitely get super wary of me.

So, I’ll let him lower his guard and start by winning over Freesia and Lily. Once they’re on my side, I’ll go from getting engaged to Onii to our first night together!
