- Chapter 1 - Reincarnated as the Trash Prince
“Young master! Young master! Please wake up!”
“Gnn~. Five more minutes. I need five more minutes… Zzz…”
“Young master, today is the day the King summoned you. You need to wake up; otherwise, you will be in big trouble.”
“King? Who is this King person you are talking about?”
Still half dazed, I replied lousily.
Whose voice is waking me up? I live alone as far as I remember. It could be an app that I had installed on my smartphone. Oh well, time to wake up.
Somewhat intrigued about whose voice it was, I rose and sat on the bed. As I opened my eyes, my whole body stiffened without realizing it.
“Young master, please dress quickly. It is almost noon, and it is
almost the appointed time with the King.”
“…”
A greyed older man wearing glasses with a worrisome look was standing beside the bed.
He looked to be around the same age as my grandpa.
Based on his clothing, he looks to be cosplaying as a butler, or maybe he is one?
I looked around and saw beautiful things that won’t be found in my room. The bed was too luxurious that had a fabric drape, and the big room was filled with shiny things. Heck, there was even a chandelier hanging. In conclusion, I am not in my room.
Still dazed, the old butler brought me back to my senses.
“Please forgive me, Young Master.”
“W-Wait, I can do it by myself.”
With that, he swiftly removed my clothing and changed me into what looked like a formal outfit worn by princes.
“Now, let us quickly depart.”
Still trying to understand, I decided to follow the old butler.
———–
“Kryon von Aurus, from this day forward, you will be the new lord of Exile Village. You may now leave.”
“Yes, Your Majesty.”
I agreed since I didn’t want to be charged with treason for going against a king’s command.
But me, a lord? I am but an ordinary citizen.
Finn Thompson.
That was my name, or at least from what I remember. I was the son of an average family and successfully finished my engineering degree. Afterward, I worked for an engineering firm until late last night.
‘How did I get dragged into this fantasy-like world?’
I stood up from my kneeling position and started walking towards the exit.
While walking, I heard lots of noises from the nearby nobles.
“Sending him to Exile. That’s like sending him to his grave.”
“Good riddance. That trash prince got what he deserved.”
“Surely. On top of having a trash personality, he was also talentless. What a relief.”
Hey, hey! I can hear what you’re all saying!
My thoughts were still unorganized, so I ignored the surroundings’ whispers.
I quickly left the grand banquet hall and was about to go straight to my lodging when I bumped into a red-haired girl.
“Serves you right. I guess this would be the last time we would see each other, trash.”
“Huh? Who the hell are you? If I’m trash, you’re garbage. Why don’t you use your hair as a drill and dig holes in the ground or something.”
Then all of a sudden, the surrounding became hot. And after a while, tiny red balls appeared near the red-haired girl.
‘Those balls… fireballs? Why haven’t I kept my darn mouth shut? Is this how I’m going to die? ‘
The female knight beside the girl interjected and said.
“My lady, it would be unbefitting of you to associate with this person. Moreover, causing such a commotion on such an occasion would be a bad idea. I beg you to please reconsider.”
After saying that, the temperature of the area returned to normal. It looked like I was spared.
“Hmph! You really are trash for not even remembering your ex-fiancee. You must have been drinking a lot for your brain to have a few loose screws. Well, whatever. This would be the last time I see you, so it is better if we forget each other.”
Then, the red-haired girl proceeded toward the banquet hall.
My knees gave out, forcing me to sit on the floor.
That small lights were fireballs(?). If so, indeed, was this a fantasy world? Where in the world am I?
After a while, I stood up, walked a little further, and saw Hans, the old butler. It looked like he saw what was happening but was scared to interfere.
I should go back and collect my thoughts for now.
