I no longer want to be a part of this triangle! - Chapter 28- Gone?
Kazuki wasn’t able to throw them out since there were neighbours around and making a scene would again anger his Dad.
Heaving a sigh, he invited them in and asked, “What do you guys want now?” He didn’t bother asking them to first sit down and asked right away.
Kohta expected as much while Katori didn’t even think he would let them in.
Katori glanced at Kohta, before the latter said, “She came to apologize to you…for whatever happened last time. I told her that it wasn’t you who did that back in the gym.”
Kazuki heaved a sigh, and told them, “As I told you guys before I don’t care what you feel about me-”
“But we do…” Katori suddenly spoke, her voice sounding unusually heavy and low, “I have wronged you and caused you so much trouble. Those rumours arose because of me…just because I came looking for you and acted immaturely.”
With her eyes turning moist and her small fists balled, she said, “I can’t tell you how much I have blamed myself for all this. I have been toying with your and Kohta-kun’s feelings, just because I loved the attention you two gave me.”
“And for that,” With her upper body bent in a bow, she exclaimed, “Please forgive me!”
Kazuki was genuinely frightened by the way she shouted. He couldn’t believe the bubbly and clueless Katori was being so sincere right now.
However, just as he said, he didn’t blame them anymore since he didn’t feel anything for them.
“You know-” Just as Kazuki was about to say something, he heard the door being banged from the other side, and soon the person started to ring his doorbell as well.
Kazuki frowned and so did the other two.
Just in case, Kohta picked the flower vase as Kazuki approached the door and looked at the person through the peephole.
His eyes widened as he hurriedly opened the door to the person.
“Senpai!” The familiar girl whom Kazuki recently got acquainted with appeared from the other side.
“Emi?” Kazuki was baffled to see Kohana’s best friend here….and if she was here, then who would Kohana go to meet?
“Senpai…I-I was forced to make that call! Someone made me say that to Kohana!” With tears trailing down her eyes, she hurriedly spoke.
Kazuki’s eyes parted wide, as he hurriedly asked, “Who was it?! Did you see their face?”
Emi shook her head, “I wasn’t able to…she was wearing a hood! However, from her voice, I knew she was a girl…not more than twenty years old.”
Kohta stepped forward, “Where were you held hostage?”
In a shaky voice, the girl responded, “Ah–near the bookstore between school and station.”
“The Wisdom Den?” Katori asked, to which Emi instantly nodded.
Kazuki didn’t think twice before exchanging his shoes and parting the door.
“Wait, Kazu-” Katori stepped forward, wanting to say something but,
“No, Katori…not right now!” He shrugged her off and ran downstairs.
Kazuki’s mind was in turmoil, blaming himself for leaving her alone.
Kohta turned toward Katori and said, “Return home safely, I am going with him.” Saying so, he also rushed out without bothering to listen to what the pinkhead had to say.
Katori turned towards the table and first brought some water for Emi.
“Sit down and tell me something,” Hearing those words, Emi nodded and sat down as she sipped on the water. Her face was pale, and there was some dried-up blood on her neck, which Katori noticed.
But since she didn’t have any idea where the first aid box was she didn’t try searching for it and gave the girl some moisturizer to apply to her wound.
Sitting beside her Katori asked, “Do you remember anything about the girl? Her height, hair, any strange thing about her behaviour?”
Emi thought back on what she faced a few moments ago before she slowly nodded, “I saw her hair…they were brown…dark brown…and she…she was behaving very odd….like she is in a rush…..she also intently listened to what I talked over the phone…and obsessively called Kohana’s name over and over again…”
Katori narrowed her eyes; she knew who this person exactly was.
*******
Kazuki rang as fast as he could towards the bookstore, his mind running across the possible suspects.
The first person that came to his mind was that creepy guy from Kohana’s classroom. However, since Emi said it was a girl, he doubted if that guy could have asked someone else to lure Kohana.
Then who? And why?
“Kazu, wait!” Suddenly Kohta arrived beside him and stopped Kazuki by grabbing his shoulder.
Kazuki frowned, “Let me go-”
“First tell me, why Kohana left your place?”
Kazuki gritted his teeth, annoyed by being stopped when he wanted to reach that bookstore as soon as he could. However, when Kohta asked him, Kazuki was forced to think about it,
“Emi said…she forgot her wallet and currently sitting in a ca…fe!”
“That’s it! We should go to the place where Kohana was invited.”
Kazuki nodded, but there was a problem.
Taking out his phone he said, “I need to know which cafe Emi exactly mentioned.” He tried Emi’s number but it was switched off.
Clicking his tongue he went through the block lists and first unblocked Katori and made the call.
*Grr* *Grr*
The call was soon picked up, “Hell-” however, before Kazuki could say anything, Katori spoke a few words that turned his mind numb.
[Kazuki-kun! I know who have kidnapped Kohana!]
