I no longer want to be a part of this triangle! - Chapter 25- Father~1
It has been half a month since that day when Kohana told her Senpai about her past. Since then, they seemed to have gotten closer, and unlike what she feared, her Senpai didn’t become too cautious about what to say around her.
He is the kind of person who never lets the other one feel pity on themselves. He is just like that.
For the past forty or so days, Katori has never been seen around Kazuki or Kohta. She seldom comes to school and barely talks to anyone. She has just….completely changed.
Unlike in the past, she didn’t put up an act of bubbly and sweet girl who make everyone want to protect her. She was now more mature and genuine with her disposition, almost like she became a completely different person after what happened that day.
Not to talk about, she also shortened her hair.
Kohta was neither Kazuki’s friend nor he treated him indifferently. They talk on the field and when they come across. The friendship they shared once could never be restored. And Kohta blames himself for that.
Now, just like usual, after school, Kazuki and Kohana were returning home together, and today, they planned to spend the night at Kazuki’s place. Tomorrow is Sunday so the plan was Netflix and chill.
Kazuki has recently started to watch different movies, including horror ones, so he could watch one every weekend. He knows how much Kohana loves them, so he builds some immunity, despite how much Kohan tells him not to force himself.
These days they spend most of the time together, but “We need to stay away for half a month, Senpai.”
Hearing those words, Kazuki halted in his tracks with his shoulders dropped in sadness, “A-Are you tired of me, Kohana-chan?”
Kohana didn’t know if she should cry or laugh. She walked back, and after holding his hand, she urged him to walk with her. With a defeated smile, she confessed, “Actually, I got a phone call from Nee-san yesterday. She reminded me that if I don’t get in the top ten in my final exams, then the elders has decided to call me back.”
Kazuki blinked in confusion, “But can’t we like study together? It’s the final year of my high school as well, you know.”
Kohana’s face became a little red as she recalled the last time they tried studying….only for the books to be thrown aside after a few minutes and Kohana uttering those words that can never be included in a book.
Shaking her head, she dispelled those thoughts and told him, “As much as I love spending time with you Senpai, I know I won’t be able to study if you remain around me. So, like, after school, let’s spend some time together, and for the following fifteen days, we should live separately.”
Looking at him with her eyes turning round, she added, “Living apart for these fifteen days is better than being separated for months, no?”
Kazuki heaved a sigh and wanted to say something like, ‘No one can snatch you away from me…’ but then he realized that Kohana could not go against her family until she entered college, and this was not a J-drama where they could run away from their families and start a new life countryside.
Heaving a sigh, he nodded, “Well if you say so…”
Kohana felt guilty seeing that sad look on his face, and she expected that….that’s why she had planned a surprise for him for tonight.
Clutching her bag’s strap firmly she pumped her fist to hype herself.
Soon they reached the apartment where Kazuki lives.
While they were discussing what they should eat, they exited the elevator and Kazuki was about to unlock the door…when he noticed that there was someone already inside.
With his brows frowned, he opened the door while gesturing for Kohana to remain hidden behind him.

As he peeked from the small gap, his eyes landed on a familiar figure of a middle-aged man currently standing right on the other side of the door.
Kazuki took a weary sigh before he pushed open the door and greeted the man, “Hey, Dad.”
Kohana’s eyes widened upon realizing the identity of the person standing across them.
She suddenly looked at her appearance and tidied her hair and clothes to meet the person.
“Kazuki…since when are you doing this?”
His tone was stern while the man completely ignored Kohana, who was about to introduce herself.
Kazuki frowned as he asked, “What?”
“What you ask? Do you think I don’t know about what kind of women you bring home these days.”
Kazuki rolled his eyes while Kohana’s eyes widened upon hearing that. Not because she didn’t trust Kazuki but because his father was blaming him for something he never did.
Inviting Kohana inside he told her, “Kohana, this is my father, and also, don’t mind his words. He is just trying to warn you.”
Kohana raised her brows in surprise before looking at the man.
The older version of Kazuki, Ichihara Akihito, shrugged, “Dating him can be burdensome.”
Kohana looked at the man in disbelief. Did he just now falsely accuse Kazuki for the sake of the girl whom he just saw?
“He is weird right? That’s why don’t mind him.” Kazuki added as he led her inside the house.
However, Kohana stopped him and shook her head.
Kazuki heaved a sigh before shrugging.
Turning towards the man who has crossed his hands on his chest and was looking at Kohana with his gaze narrowed, she began,
“This is the first time meeting you Ichihara-san, but I have heard a lot about you from Kazuki-kun. And considering that you like honest people, I won’t hide out relationship from you.” Holding Kazuki’s hand, she added, “We have been dating for more than two months now, and want you to accept our relationship.”
Saying so, he bowed her head respectfully, making Akihito a little flustered.
Kazuki was thinking that Kohana was fruitlessly trying to convince this man. Despite how much she says, Kazuki knew that his father would think that they weren’t serious about this relationship.
Just as Kazuki thought that the silence was becoming a little too long and he should take Kohana out until his father leaves, suddenly the older Ichihara spoke up,
“You…come with me. I need to talk to you.”
*******
A/N:- Acceptance from both sides? Well, that was to be expected considering how adorable Kohana is.
