I no longer want to be a part of this triangle! - Chapter 20- Secrets?
[A few minutes ago]
Kohta was feeling hesitant to approach Kazuki. Who could have thought that one day he would feel hesitant to approach Kazuki?
However, after what he discovered he couldn’t just sit back.
After mulling for a bit, he finally approached him during lunch, but then suddenly, Kazuki got up while holding his lunchbox.
Wait! Lunchbox?
“Since when did you start cooking?”
Hearing Kohta’s question, Kazuki frowned and just ignored the guy before leaving his desk and advancing toward the class entrance.
Kohta didn’t lose his motivation and followed him.
After exiting the classroom, he asked, “Can you hear me out for a moment? I swear I won’t pester you after this.”
Kazuki suddenly halted and so did Kohta, before the former turned to look at the raven-haired and said curtly, “Speak.”
Kohta stepped towards the staircase to not block the others before he took a big breath. This was getting a little nerve-racking.
However, backing off from this was not something his principles allowed him.
Finally, he spoke, “I saw the footage of that day…and I know you weren’t the one who did that. It was the two from the second year.”
“Yeah, so?” Kazuki replied flatly.
Kohta kept his head leaning down as he heard his friend continuing, “Even if you now know that I wasn’t the one, it won’t change a thing. In the first place, I no longer care about your opinion of me, nor what the others think about me.”
Kohta nodded and slowly lifted his head before saying, “I know…but I had to say sorry for what I did.”
Hearing that Kazuki turned around, ready to leave, when suddenly he halted as he felt his phone buzzing.
Taking it out he found it was a text from Kohana, stating:
[Katori-senpai is taking me to the rooftop.]
“What?” It was not Kazuki who exclaimed but Kohta, who peeked at the screen from behind.
Kazuki didn’t have the time to deal with the bastard so he just marched upstairs to see what Katori wanted now.
Kohta naturally followed him since this matter didn’t only concern Kohana but included Katori as well.
They both reached the rooftop but didn’t immediately open the gate to let their presence be known. More like both of them were taken aback when they heard Katori saying,
“Why shouldn’t I? Kazu-kun is someone close to me. He has been pursuing me for like ever, and do you think just because of a minor misunderstanding I will stop worrying about him?”
“Why is she saying such a thing to Kohana?” Kazuki frowned upon hearing those words from the pink-head. Kohta also had a frown on his face when he gazed at that crazed look on Katori’s face.
“It doesn’t take two weeks to break the relationship of two years, my dear junior. Not only am I concerned about Kazu-kun, I bet he surely thinks about me even around you, no?”
Kazuki’s eyes widened in agitation as he said, “This little shit….” However, before he could have opened the gate and appeared before them, Kohta held Kazuki by his shoulder.
Kazuki turned to look at him only to find Kohta shaking his head.
Kazuki gritted his teeth but didn’t insist. He also wanted to see how low she could fall.
“No, he doesn’t!” Kohana’s swift response filled his heart with warmth as Kazuki nodded to himself.
“That’s right Kohana. I never think of anyone except you.” He slowly mumbled.
However, the slight happiness he gained from those words of his girlfriend was soon overshadowed by darkness,
“Do you even know what kind of person Kazu-kun is? What has his life been like? What problems has he overcome, and what is the situation with his family? Do you even know anything about Kazu-kun or did you seduce him just because he is a handsome guy?”
“If you really have done so, then I am quite disappointed in you.”
Kohta’s fist clenched as he stared at the girl whom he loved and admired. The same girl who always brought happiness to his life and always shone the brightest amongst the crowd, was showing a different side of hers right now.
Kohana replied to her accusation and even blamed Katori for what she had done, changing Katori’s whole demeanor as she spat.
“Don’t get ahead of yourself bitch! Just because Kazu-kun is giving you a bit of his attention, don’t you dare act all high and mighty! Once he gets bored he will just throw you away-”
“Just like you threw him? Please, Katori-senpai. Don’t call my Kazu-senpai as cheap as you are. You don’t even know the meaning of friendship, so stop lecturing me over relationships and all.”
Kohta frowned; not because of what Kohana said but the way Katori’s face changed. He released Kazuki’s shoulder and before the latter could have entered the scene, Kohta walked hurriedly towards the duo and blocked Katori before she could have hurt Kohana.
It seems not only Kazuki but he misunderstood Katori as well. She isn’t the same as she pretends to be.

After leaving school, they were walking side by side, and the atmosphere was a little gloomy.
Kazuki was worried about something after he heard Katori saying those words earlier, which urged him to confess,
“My mom died in an accident when I was ten, and my father mostly remained out of the town after my mom died. It seems he didn’t like to return to the place where his wife once awaited.”
Kazuki’s voice became a little down near the end.
Kohana blinked in confusion upon hearing all this all of a sudden.
Kazuki shrugged before suggesting, “I thought we should know everything about each other so a third person doesn’t end up creating misunderstanding.”
“Oh…” Kohana now realized the reason behind his sudden confession.
Kazuki knew that she wouldn’t misunderstand him blindly but he still wanted Kohana to know everything about him.
“And you Kohana-chan? Is there something you want to tell me?”
Kohana’s body turned stiff as she subconsciously held her left-hand wrist by her right hand. Anxiously she shook her head and said,
“Nothing important.”
Kazuki felt that there was something…but if she wasn’t comfortable he wouldn’t force her.
Soon they reached Kohana’s place with the plans of having dinner together….only to find that someone was waiting for Kohana inside her house.
“M-Mom?”

A/N:- Ah yeah, the cliche family drama. But don’t worry, it won’t be as severe as that one? You know about whom I am talking about right?
