Chapter 05: Revenge! Like Hell I’ll Stay Quiet!
“Whoa! I thought I was gonna die!”
Suddenly, I jolted awake from my dream.
Huh? Wait a second… Was I asleep?
Still slumped over my desk, I turned my head to check the clock hanging on the back wall. The first period was just about to end.
Phew… That was close.
Luckily, the last class was a self-study period. The teacher didn’t come, and we were free to do whatever we wanted.
Reading books, playing on our phones, or even just sleeping—no one would scold us for it.
As long as we didn’t cause trouble for other classes, pretty much anything was fair game.
But if this had been a regular lesson? No doubt I’d be getting another invitation to the staff room from Sasaki-sensei.
…Still, that dream was the worst.
Maybe it was because I’d been lying on my desk for too long, but my body felt strangely fatigued. And on top of that, the dream itself was a nightmare.
Being chased by a pack of dogs, then falling off a cliff in the end—no, seriously, I thought my heart was gonna stop!
Thanks to that, I still felt drained.
Hoping to shake it off, I decided to step out into the hallway and get some fresh air.
That’s when a group of guys walking down the corridor caught my eye.
…Huh? I feel like I’ve seen them somewhere before…
Ah! That’s right! They were on the train this morning!
“These bastards… No doubt about it! It’s them from this morning!”
The moment I realized it, I shot out of the classroom and took off after them.
Those assholes… Just because they caught me off guard and beat the crap out of me this morning, they think they can strut around like they own the place?
Like hell I’ll let this slide!
I tailed them carefully, watching as they eventually entered a certain restroom.
It was one of those restrooms tucked away in the farthest corner of the school, barely used. Rumor had it that delinquents had turned it into their secret hideout.
“Oi, you bastards!”
I stormed inside and yelled. Instantly, their gazes all turned toward me.
“So it was someone from our school… Hehe, we finally found you.”
“You’re that guy from this morning…”
“Heh, so what now? Gonna get on your knees and beg for forgiveness? Or do you wanna try pleading for your life some other way?”
I sneered at them, my lips curling into a fearless grin. No way in hell was I losing today.
This fight was mine to win! Or so I thought—
Thud!
“Gah…!”
A dull impact slammed into my head.
Someone had struck me from behind with a stick or something. I hadn’t even noticed them sneaking up.
The sudden blow completely threw me off, and before I knew it, my vision went dark as I collapsed onto the floor.
“Don’t get cocky, you little shit!”
The moment I hit the ground, a kick followed.
“Take this, you piece of crap!”
One after another, their merciless kicks rained down on me. I had no time to even register the pain before their feet trampled me again and again.
“How’s that?! You get it now? Who the hell do you think you are, huh?!”
One of them grabbed me by the collar and yanked me up.
And then—
BAM!
A vicious punch slammed into my face, sending me flying into one of the restroom stalls.
My head smacked hard against the toilet lid, and in that instant, warm blood started gushing from my forehead.
“This ain’t a place for punks like you to act tough! Get that through your thick skull, dumbass!”
Their jeering voices echoed around me as my consciousness started to fade—
“Enough already! Stop this right now!”
Just as they were about to go in for more, a sudden voice rang out.
The moment they heard it, they froze.
That voice… Could it be…? No, I was sure of it.
“I won’t forgive you for bullying Nagisa-chan again!”
Knew it…
Satoha, you came to save me again?
Dammit, now I owe you one more favor! And stop calling me “Nagisa” like we’re close!
“Hah? He’s the one who barged in here, y’know? He brought this on himself.”
“Even so, there’s such a thing as holding back! You guys went way too far!”
“Tsukimoto-san, that girl’s way too strong! We should run!”
“Quit whining! It’s one girl, don’t be pathetic…!”
“Take this!”
Thud! Crack!
The next moment, the restroom was filled with the sounds of fists and feet colliding—followed by the pained screams of the thugs.
I was still sprawled on the floor, unable to move, but even I could tell what was happening.
Satoha was destroying them—she was like a damn monster taking down those delinquents!
Clutching the toilet for support, I somehow managed to drag myself out of the stall—
…And saw them all lying on the ground.
No doubt about it. This fight was Satoha’s victory.
“D-Damn… She’s too strong…”
I stared in shock, completely reminded of just how terrifying she was.
Clap… clap… clap…
Just as I thought it was over, a slow, mocking applause echoed through the room, followed by a sinister chuckle.
“Ohhoho… Not bad~ I didn’t think you’d actually put up a fight before I even got serious.”
Ah, this guy… He was the one who hit me earlier.
I hadn’t seen his face before, but he was definitely with them.
Even after getting knocked down, he stood up, still clapping, still smirking. Satoha’s attacks hadn’t even fazed him.
Was he that strong, or were the others just that weak?
“You’re tougher than the rest of these chumps. Then come on, let’s go again, you annoying little brat!”
Seeing him rise, Satoha smirked coldly, cracking her neck before charging at him once more.
Smack!
He caught her fist. Effortlessly.
This guy… He was on a whole different level.
“You’re pretty strong. I wasn’t gonna go all out on a girl, but… Looks like I don’t have a choice now.”
He reeled back his fist, aiming a brutal punch at Satoha.
“STOP!”
That was close.
I leapt forward at the last second, landing a swift kick that sent him staggering back, just before he could land a hit on her.
“The hell’s your problem, huh?! I came here to settle a score with those guys, not you! And seriously? You’re picking a fight with a girl in a place like this? Not manly at all. Go rethink your life somewhere else!”
Damn, that was badass.
Not only did I land a solid kick, but I even threw out such a cool one-liner! I was way too awesome just now.
After taking my kick, that bastard’s arrogant and insidious expression completely changed—his face now filled with shock and fear. He just kept staring at me, unable to step forward or say a single word.
Scared now, huh?
Not that I care.
I don’t go around throwing punches for no reason. If he hadn’t sucker-punched me earlier, I wouldn’t have even bothered.
That kick? Yeah, that was payback.
“Nagisa-chan…”
“Satoha, we just met, alright? Stop calling me that.”
“You bastard!”
Shit! Another cheap shot!
But this time, I wasn’t falling for it. I spun around and caught his punch mid-swing.
“You sneaky piece of—!”
I wasn’t holding back anymore.
With a single, full-force punch, I sent him flying straight into the wall.
Player Misaki, 100 points!
“Buzz off, you damn gnat!”
After wiping the blood from my forehead, I turned to leave, Satoha trailing behind me.
“Nagisa-chan, Nagisa-chan! Is your head okay?”
Oi, I just told you to stop calling me that.
And seriously, do I look okay? I’m literally bleeding!
“Look at my head—does this look fine to you?”
“Ahaha… yeah, you’re right. How about we go to the infirmary together?”
“Nah, I’ll go by myself.”
Of course! No way in hell! This injury is already drawing attention.
If the famous Satohama were to go with me, it would definitely cause a misunderstanding. That’s the last thing I want—I have no desire to be the center of attention.
Just as I was about to make my escape, I turned around—only to find Tsunekawa and Nakano standing right there.
Why the hell are they here too…?
“M-Misaki-kun…”
“Your head…”
The moment they noticed my head injury, they immediately panicked.
Nakano, in particular, hurriedly pulled a handkerchief from her pocket and rushed over to me, holding it out.
Her face was filled with obvious concern.
“Misaki-kun, use this to wipe it!”
“Let’s go to the infirmary right away. Ayana-chan, help me out.”
Before I could even respond, Tsunekawa and Satohama had already grabbed my arms and started walking me toward the infirmary.
“Wait, hold on—I can walk by myself—hey, hey, Satohama-san, don’t pull there! That’s my crotch!”
I tried to resist, but the two of them had a firm grip on me and showed no sign of letting go.
“Nope. You’re injured, so it’s best if we support you just in case.”
Tsunekawa declared firmly.
And so, against my will, the three of them dragged me to the infirmary, where my forehead wound was treated.
