Chapter 06: After-School Berserkers
When they stepped out of the karaoke box, the town was already wrapped in the dim light of evening.
The air felt different—thicker somehow—filled with the lively energy of night and the lingering excitement of Naoto’s classmates, mixed with a strong sense of satisfaction… and possessiveness.
“Naoto-sama, thank you so much for today. …I’ve never experienced an after-school time that made my heart shake like this.”
Kaguya Saionji said this as she walked right beside him, her cheeks faintly flushed.
On his other side, Reika fiddled with her blonde hair and muttered,
“I mean… yeah, it was fun. But next time, it’s definitely just the two of us, okay?”
She said it grumpily—but her eyes burned with intensity.
“I’m just glad everyone enjoyed themselves,” Naoto replied with a pure, innocent smile.
That was when—
“—Hey! Hold up! You guys, look over there!!”
From a nearby alley, about ten high school girls from another school appeared.
Their uniforms were worn loosely, and the moment they spotted Naoto, they froze.
These girls weren’t like the carefully chosen elites of Class A.
They were the rougher majority of this world—straightforward, aggressive, and driven by instinct.
If they wanted something, they took it by force.
“No way… that’s a real boy!? And what is that cuteness!? He’s totally my type!!”
The girl who seemed to be their leader—her hair brightly dyed—locked onto Naoto with the sharp eyes of a predator spotting prey.
Whether they failed to notice the dangerous aura emanating from Naoto’s classmates… or simply believed themselves stronger—the girls boldly closed the distance, step by step.
And in that moment, the peaceful after-school atmosphere finally began to crack.
“Hey, cutie—what school are you from? Hanging out with girls that stiff has gotta be boring, right? Why don’t you come have some fun with us instead… yeah?”
The ten girls slowly tightened their circle.
Even with a bit of delinquent flair mixed in, girls in this world were still undeniably pretty.
(Spending time with a lively group like this wouldn’t exactly be bad… but compared to the girls in my class, it kind of feels like a step down.)
In an instant, Naoto switched roles—putting on the act of a fragile, easy-to-protect boy.
“T-Those people… their eyes are kind of scary…”
“—Naoto-sama. Please don’t worry.”
Kaguya’s voice changed—cold, sharp, and nothing like her usual gentle tone.
“I will not allow such impure individuals to lay even a single finger on you.”
In this world, there was a reason women possessed far greater physical ability than men.
It was the result of extreme evolution—to protect the few precious males from rival females, and to never let go once they had secured what they were guarding.
That instinct shaped everything: society, politics, even warfare.
“…Approaching Naoto-sama without permission is an unforgivable offense. It merits death a thousand times over.”
Kaguya stepped forward calmly.
In her long, sharp eyes burned the unmistakable light of an absolute predator—the gaze of someone who had already decided the outcome.
And with that, the after-school calm finally snapped.
“Hah! What’s this ‘death a thousand times’ crap!? We’re way stronger than you! Get ’em—!”
The moment the leader shouted, everything was decided at lightning speed.
“…Fufu. You’re being a little too naughty, you know?”
The first to move was Shizuka Utagawa, her short silver hair swaying lightly.
A gentle smile rested on her angel-like, drooping eyes as she slipped into the enemy’s space with elegant movements—like she was guided by invisible strings.
“Guh…!?”
“Yes. Sweet dreams.”
Without losing her smile, Shizuka struck precisely at the throat and stomach.
She didn’t even give them time to scream.
One after another, the girls collapsed to the ground.
Her movements were beautiful—and terrifyingly efficient.
“ORAAA!! Outta the way, you filthy sows!!”
Reika roared as she charged forward, blonde hair flying.
She moved with the explosive speed of a wild panther.
Three attackers rushed her at once—she wiped them out with a spinning kick, slamming them straight into the wall.
“Like hell I’d let you touch my Naoto! Try again in a million years!!”
The last remaining one—their leader—now completely frantic, rushed at Kaguya.
But Kaguya didn’t move.
“…Pathetic.”
One minimal step. One perfectly controlled motion.
Her palm strike—refined to the absolute peak of ancient martial arts—stopped just a hair’s breadth from the leader’s face.
That alone was enough.
The shockwave alone sent the girl flying backward, blood spraying from her nose as she crashed to the ground.
“Kyyaaa!? T-They’re monsters…!!”
“Don’t get it wrong. …We are not ‘monsters.’ We are Naoto-sama’s Guardian Knights—Berserkers.”
Kaguya said this coldly, casting a brief glance over the ten girls collapsed on the ground.
Then she turned back to Naoto.
In an instant, the killing intent vanished from her eyes, replaced by soft, melting warmth.
“…Sorry to keep you waiting, Naoto-sama. It’s all right now. The pests have been completely taken care of.”
With that, Kaguya gently pulled Naoto close, pressing him against her generous chest as if to reassure him.
(…Hieeh. Everyone here is insanely strong…)
Naoto’s face ended up buried in Kaguya’s chest, surrounded by softness and a sweet scent, her body warmth seeping into him.
Seeing him remain perfectly still, Kaguya mistook it for fear and spoke gently.
“This rough town must have been far too stimulating for someone as precious as you, Naoto-sama. …Reika-san, the car.”
“Yeah, yeah, I’ve got it.”
Reika nodded, then glanced at Naoto with a serious expression.
“Naoto, today we’ll take full responsibility and make sure we get you back to a safe place, okay?”
And just like that, surrounded by his fiercely loyal guardians, Naoto was escorted away—completely unaware that, in this world, being protected this much might be even more dangerous than being attacked.
When Reika made a call on her phone, a massive jet-black limousine silently slid up as if it had been waiting all along.
The classmates didn’t even spare a glance for the girls lying defeated on the ground.
To them, only two things mattered:
Naoto’s safety—and Naoto’s exclusivity.
With Kaguya on one side and Reika on the other, Naoto was guided—almost carried—into the limousine and gently pressed into the plush, luxurious seat.
(…Haha. Seriously? This feels less like being “protected” and more like I’ve been completely captured. …Well, if I’m being fought over by a group of beautiful girls, I guess that’s not so bad!)
The limousine door closed, sealing them inside a private space.
Kaguya’s deep navy hair and Reika’s blonde locks crossed right in front of Naoto’s nose.
As the noise from outside faded away, silence filled the car—along with the sound of their uneven breathing and an atmosphere thick with emotions they couldn’t quite hide.
