I Got Dumped by My Childhood Friend Fiancée Who I Didn’t Even Like, I Thought I Could Finally Have a Peaceful School Life… But Then I Got Targeted by SS-Class Beautiful Young Ladies - Chapter 20
Chapter 20: [Flat-Chested Girls Who Worry About It Are Cute] The Pure Blonde Heiress Broke My Sanity by Crying in English
Anyway, somehow I’d managed to stay undefeated all the way here.
For the third match, it was Minase-senpai—the one everyone said was the best at this puzzle game out of all the young ladies.
She sat down next to me looking way too pumped up. I glanced at her sideways and secretly locked in my confidence of winning inside my head.
I mean, I was the one who taught her this game in the first place. I already knew all her habits, how she thinks, and roughly how strong she was.
The only real worry was the I Love You game… but nah, it’d probably be fine. Yeah, I’d gotten shaken up a little earlier, but I wasn’t gonna fall for the same trick twice, and I couldn’t imagine anything worse than that coming at me.
While I waited for the match to start with total chill, Senpai leaned in close, smirking like she owned the place, and peeked right into my face.
“Yoichi~? Just so you know, I’m not losing today~?”
“…Minase-senpai, have you ever beaten me even once?”
“Ugh… okay, no, but… today! Today’s the day I finally win!”
“Looking forward to it.”
“Ugh, stop making fun of me!! This is a serious match for both of us!!”
“Yeah, of course.”
She got a little fired up, but still flashed that carefree grin.
Her smile was so pure—like she was just genuinely excited to play—that it hit me right in the chest. A small smile slipped out of me too without thinking.
The countdown for the match started soon after.
The second it hit zero and signaled the start, both our fingers flew into motion.
*
The fight with Senpai went pretty much exactly how I’d expected.
Only one thing caught me off guard: the other two conglomerate heiresses—who weren’t playing—weren’t really jumping in to interfere much at all.
Shiramine, who’d gone full seduction mode earlier, was still sticking close and messing with me through skinship while I played. If anything, she seemed a bit panicked and was overdoing it even more.
But that made sense. They had the excuse of it being a “contest,” so no matter how ridiculous the tactics got, they absolutely hated losing—that was just how they were, and how people from prestigious families who cared about face thought.
Still… exactly because of that, Tachibana doing basically nothing was starting to bug me way too much.
She’d been quiet back in the first match too, but now in the third one her presence was practically zero. Had she given up? Or was she holding back some ultimate secret move…?
I kept my guard up while the weirdness of Tachibana’s behavior piled up more questions in my head—but the answer came pretty quick.
Maybe she’d finally gotten fed up with Tachibana doing literally nothing, because Shiramine pulled away from me for a second, let out a small sigh, and spoke up.
“Charlotte-chan, what are you doing? If you keep sitting there doing nothing, we’re seriously gonna lose for real. You okay with that?”
Her tone was a little sharp—probably because the two of them were actually close.
Tachibana answered in a weak, shaky voice.
“Um… I’m sorry… I don’t wanna lose, but…”
“Then why aren’t you doing anything…?”
“It’s just… um…”
She clearly hesitated at Shiramine’s question. Her voice seemed to get quieter and quieter.
For just a moment, silence spread through the room—nothing but the game sounds.
Tachibana broke that quiet hesitantly, murmuring almost to herself.
“I-I just… don’t think I could make Yoichi-kun lose focus…”
“What do you mean…?”
“I mean… even Rei and Azusa couldn’t do it earlier, so if it’s me… I feel like I really can’t do anything at all…”
Oh. So she hadn’t been holding back some genius plan—she’d just lost all confidence.
Well… yeah, the seduction stuff those two pulled earlier was pretty intense and in-your-face. And even after all that, I’d still won—so it made sense she’d feel crushed.
But Shiramine clearly didn’t see it that way.
She let out a soft little chuckle, then stepped closer to Tachibana based on the sound of her footsteps.
“Haaa, got it… So that’s what you were worried about?”
From her tone, Shiramine was definitely smirking right now.
She leaned in and whispered something to Tachibana. I could hear the hushed, rustling sound, but no actual words made it to my ears.
—Man, this feels like really bad news…
I didn’t need to hear the details to know. Anything Shiramine was grinning about while whispering was guaranteed to be trouble.
And sure enough, whatever it was hit Tachibana hard. Her shocked scream—”Ehh!? I have to do that!?”—rang loud in my ears and pretty much confirmed it.
“Of course! Don’t worry, Charlotte-chan—if you do it, it’ll definitely work! Come on, come on! Hurry!”
Pushed by Shiramine’s bright, cheerful voice, Tachibana moved with tiny, nervous steps. She ended up right beside me—where I was sitting facing the screen playing.
I cranked my senses to max alert, wondering what the hell was coming next. She took a shaky breath, cheeks already burning with embarrassment, and spoke.
“Um… Yoichi-kun. I love you. How… how do you feel about me?”
“…Huh? Oh, uh, yeah…”
Out of nowhere, Tachibana had gone straight for the classic I Love You game continuation—no tricks, just the real thing.
It was so pure compared to what I’d expected from Shiramine’s suggestion that it actually threw me off. I froze up for a second, stumbling over my words, but I recovered quick.
“I love you too?”
“I-I’m so happy… Then… um… if two people love each other, doing something like this… isn’t weird at all, right…?”
“…Huh? Something like this…?”
I barely got the question out.
The next instant, a firm yet soft sensation took over my right arm all the way up to my brain.
This wasn’t the indirect shoulder-press thing the other two perverts had done.
Tachibana leaned her full weight against my right arm, pressing her chest right into it herself.
Unlike Shiramine’s or Minase-senpai’s aggressive, animal-like size and attack power, hers were more modest—but exactly because of that, they carried this mysterious, almost endearing charm. Like a gentle herbivore you’d just wanna pet and stroke forever.
“…!”
—Damn it, Shiramine thought this through. Going for the surprise factor…
Out of the three, Tachibana had the purest, most ladylike aura and personality by far. So when someone like her did something like this, the destructive power was on another level—no one else could match it—
“Th-This is getting in the way of the game… Could you move away, Tachibana?”
I never thought I’d get rattled again by such an obvious seduction move after thinking I’d gotten used to it…
Cursing my own shallowness, I forced myself to sound calm and tried to hide how shaken I was.
But Tachibana didn’t say anything back. She didn’t pull away either. Instead, she started making these tiny, strangled whimpering noises—like she was dying of embarrassment.
That reaction was way too curious. I couldn’t help flicking my eyes over for just a second… and that turned out to be the absolute worst decision.
She was clinging to my right arm, eyes glistening with the tiniest tears at the corners, her whole face flushed bright red as she whispered,
“That’s… that’s why I said…”
“…Huh?”
“I’m flat anyway… so it shouldn’t mean anything… This is so embarrassing…(どうせ私、おっぱい小さいし……だから意味無いって……あぅ……恥ずかしいよぉ……)”
“…!!!”
As expected from someone half-American—out came perfect, fluent English all of a sudden as she poured her feelings out. But her voice was unbelievably small and fragile.
The super clear pronunciation got instantly translated in my head.
—She’s… worried about being flat-chested…?
After hearing those words, the warmth and softness pressing into my right arm hit me even harder. My focus got completely dragged there.
I could barely keep holding the controller anymore.
Past the tough-guy filter, straight-up instinct was screaming at me: This girl is way too cute…
Meanwhile, the game board on screen kept moving forward in a totally calm, mechanical way.
I desperately tried to yank my mind back to the game and turn things around—but it was already too late. In a game where one second could decide everything, this kind of breakdown was fatal.
By the time I realized, the match had ended. Senpai stood up looking thrilled, and for the first time ever, the word ‘LOSER’ appeared on my side of the screen, forcing me to accept the defeat.
“I lost…”
Overall score: two wins, one loss. Technically I’d won more matches, but in the contest against the young ladies—I’d properly lost.
A heavy sense of defeat washed over me. I let my exhausted body sink fully into the chair back.
I stared up at the blank ceiling and slowly breathed out all the air that had built up deep in my lungs.
“…Seriously?”
