Chapter 59: Undead Harry’s Cry

“I shall report this directly to His Majesty. There will be no mercy.”

With one hand massaging her own temple, Luna-sama had her other hand holding onto a sword made from wind magic, aiming the sword at Rio’s neck. Rio was kneeling on the ground, begging for forgiveness. 

Luna-sama was truly formidable. She waited for the perfect opportunity to catch Rio’s crime in action. The moment she got the proof that Rio was forcibly extorting money from the restaurant owner, she immediately subdued Rio and his entourage using her wind magic. 

Of course, Luna-sama didn’t even need my help. Soon enough, the knights from the palace arrived to arrest them. For some reason, Luna-sama looked absolutely furious. 

We left the restaurant after the commotion and walked through the streets. 

“…”

“Umm… Luna-sama? Are you okay? You look really upset.”

“….”

It seemed she was sulking, like she was feeling unsatisfied about something. 

“Even though today is supposed to be our date….”

Luna-sama murmured under her breath and sighed. 

I was able to see various sides of Luna-sama today. When I first saw her, she gave me the impression of someone very quiet but capable at  her job. She reminded me of a hardworking office lady back in Japan. But now that I had gone on a date with her today, I realized she was actually just like the other girls. 

“Luna-sama.”

“Hm?”

“You were very cool.”

“…I’m just doing something I always do.”

“And that’s what makes you charming. I’m sure your late brother would be so proud of you!”

“We still have plenty of time. How about if we explore around?”

“…Yeah.”

At first, Luna-sama still looked somewhat dissatisfied, but then, Luna-sama seemed to had found her inner peace. She rested her hand on her chest while staring at me from the side. 

Even with all kinds of incidents happening around, the town was still maintaining its peaceful liveliness. 

Still, this kingdom will definitely be better off without people like Harry and Bern. If only they could lose their power or just disappear somewhere…

I pondered to myself when suddenly, someone shouted at the top of their lungs. 

“The Percy family is under the attack of the undead!!!”

“”Huh?!””

Everyone around widened their eyes. 

Luna-sama and I exchanged glances before we immediately headed toward Harry’s house.

The Percy’s Residence

“Wha-What is this….”

“There are so many undead….”

The Percy family’s residence had descended into chaos. Countless undead creatures were wreaking havoc, destroying the house, setting fires and attacking the servants. Neither the royal knights nor the soldier had arrived. There were only Luna-sama and I standing in front of the entrance to the mansion. 

We stood there for a moment, still unable to process the chaos when suddenly, someone was running straight to us. I thought it was another undead, but it turned out to be a young human girl. 

The girl was running barefoot with her ash-gray hair flowing messily against the wind. Tears were streaming down her face as she ran frantically. 

“Haa… Haa… Haa…”

She was breathing heavily as she stopped in front of us and burst into tears. She was wearing a luxurious gown and I could see some sort of resemblance to Harry in terms of appearance. She must be his little sister. 

To be honest, I couldn’t care less about Harry’s little sister. I hated everyone in the Percy family in general. However, when I looked at her tear stricken face, I couldn’t help but to think that it wouldn’t hurt to hear the situation from her first. 

“Where are your parents?”

I asked.

“They… Were killed by the undead…”

She said while trembling all over. 

“….”

“I saw my brother… He had become an undead… Then… My parents died. They were killed by a little boy…”

As she said so, the young lady threw herself toward me, burying her face in my chest while crying uncontrollably. 

“UWAHHHH!!”

Sobbing out loud, the girl tightly gripped the hem of my clothes, crying out in anguish. I gently stroked her head, trying to comfort her. 

This girl was definitely Harry’s little sister. I could pretend to not know but… I couldn’t just leave her alone like this. 

“Luna-sama.”

“Yes?”

“I’ll go check the situation in the mansion. Please take care of this girl.”

“It’s dangerous to go in alone! I mean, I know Kanato-san is very strong, but there are so many undead! I can’t possibly let you run to your own death!!”

“Luna-sama….”

She was staring at me with a very sorrowful expression on her face. Her emerald green eyes were wet with unshed tears, causing my heart to waver. 

And at that moment…

“That’s right. There’s no way Kanato is going to die.”

“Ahahaha~ Wherever Kanato goes, I’ll go to!~”

“I will go with Kanato-san as well!!”

“Onii-sama, I’ll be sure to cast a lot of heal for you!”

All members of Five Star were present here. 

“Everyone…. How…?”

I asked, surprised to see all of them here, but instead of answering me, they only laughed awkwardly, avoiding my question on purpose. However, it didn’t matter now. We had a more important thing to focus on. We needed to investigate what was happening inside. 

All of them had come all the way here to meet me. The people that I truly relied on from the deepest part of my heart. I was really greatful I had them as my comrades. 

“Haa… Haa… Everyone! Wait!!”

While I was staring at four of my friends in gratitude, I also heard another familiar voice. It was Selene-sama. She was panting heavily as she ran to me. Her pink hair swayed everywhere. 

“Selene-sama! It’s dangerous here! Please go back!”

“Haa… Haa… I’m sorry but I can’t do that.”

“Why not?!”

“I want to join Five Star. I need to prove myself by joining you guys here.”

“…”

“I will come too. I may not have the greatest stamina or physical strength, but I’m very confident in my magic!”

Selene-sama said with her fist clenched, looking smug. 

Then…

“GROAAAAAAAAAARRRR!!”

Ghastly screams could be heard coming from the mansion. We needed to make a quick decision here. 

“Luna-sama, please. Take care of this girl.”

“…Understand. I will go to the palace and call for the knights.”

“Thank you.”

Luna-sama nodded before leaving for the palace. 

Now, only six of us were left. 

“Shall we go in?”

Everyone nodded in response to my question. 

We ran inside and soon enough, we arrived at an open space near the mansion. There…

“GROARRRRRRR!!!”

Undead Harry was screaming, tears streaming down his black face. 

The young boy who I had seen in the arena was watching Harry with a smile on his face. 

“Ahahahahaha!! My parents were also killed by nobles, you know?? How is it?? Can you feel my pain now??”

“GROAAAAAAAAAAAAARRRR!!”

“See? Making the other side taste the same pain as ours is the most effective way to make them understand. So many slaves have shed their blood because of the nobles. It’s only fair for the nobles to shed some blood because of us too.”

“GROAAAAAAARRR!!”

Undead Harry kept screaming, seemingly not listening to the young boy’s words. Undead Harry couldn’t do anything but to scream in sorrow as he looked at the figures of his already deceased parents.
