“Now then, shall we get going? We need to go and greet your parents, after all.”

“I wonder what kind of faces they’ll make when they see us. I can’t wait~”

“Be a good boy, okay? You need to be a filial son to your parents.”

Harry was unable to form any words. He could only let out an incomprehensible groan. Number 1200 pulled the chain to Harry’s collar and jumped into the sky.

A Few Days Later, at Duke Lennox’s Residence

The day for our promised date had finally arrived. I couldn’t refuse Luna-sama’s request. I had a feeling she would twist my arms right here and there had I refused her. 

I had told Rina and the others that I was going to the capital to do some shopping. Fortunately, they didn’t seem to be suspicious of me. I didn’t want to hide anything from them, but my instinct warned me that things would only escalate if I told them the truth. 

Which was how I found myself standing in front of Duke Lennox’s residence. The kind gatekeeper escorted me inside. 

“A-Amazing…”

In term of extravagance, Fibel family’s residence would wind, but this residence had a different charm to it. Even a commoner like me could see this building had aged beautifully. This mansion must be at least several hundred years old. It was as if the wisdom of past generations was etched in each pillar, in each block. 

The indescribable dignity and beauty this building exuded left me at awe. I heard the history of the Lennox family went a long way back. They had been practicing law since before the birth of Halkeginia Kingdom and not only the royalty from our kingdom but people from other kingdoms also came here to seek the wisdom of the Lennox family. 

While this kingdom was mostly filled with pompous, insufferable pricks like Harry, but on the other hand, we also had distinguished noble families like the Lennox. Great nobles like the Lennox must be the reason why this kingdom was still standing tall until now. 

I was walking through the mansion, impressed by how majestic the place was when finally, a big door leading to the inside of the mansion swung open, revealing the sight of Luna-sama. She was standing there, dressed in a pure white gown and a hat that looked like something a young lady would typically wear. 

Since I only ever saw Luna-sama in her school uniform, the juxtaposition of her appearance left me speechless. 

“Kanato-san… Go-Go-Good morning..”

“Ye-Yes. Good morning…”

Luna-sama fiddled with her hat slightly, revealing her beautiful emerald eyes. 

“….”

She always carried herself with dignity at school, but now she looked shy and bashful. 

“Ho-How do I look?”

“You look great. The dress and the hat suit you very well.”

“…I see… Thank you.”

“Yo-You’re welcome.”

Her innocent reaction made me feel embarrassed too. But then, a man with a stern face appeared behind her. 

“Are you Kanato-kun?”

His gaze searched through me. Just at a single glance alone, I could tell this gentleman must be Luna-sama’s father. 

“Ye-Yes!”

I quickly bowed my head. 

“Please raise your head.”

“….”

I raised my head and the gentleman continued on.

“My name is Jack De Lennox. I’ve heard many things about you from Keltz.”

“Fro-From Keltz-sama?!”

“Indeed. He mentioned how amazing you are.”

“No-No! That’s not true! I’m still far from ‘amazing’!”

“Fufu… And not just from Keltz, but also from Luna.”

“Lu-Luna-sama too?!”

“Father! Please don’t say unnecessary things…”

Jack-sama’s words left Luna-sama flustered. However, perhaps finding his daughter’s reaction to be adorable, Jack-sama continued to tease her. 

“Didn’t you always tell the servants and me about Kanato-kun’s great endeavor at school the moment you came home?”

“Father!!”

“Ahahahaha! Kanato-kun.”

“Yes!”

“I will leave Luna in your hand today. Please escort her.”

“Leave it to me.”

I confidently answered and Jack-sama nodded in satisfaction before he continued on. 

“Kanato-kun.”

“What is it?”

“Be careful of the Percy family.”

“….”

He said seriously with his eyebrows furrowed. 

“The Percy family is suspicious. I can’t shake the feeling that something bad is going to happen. Their residence is close to the capital so it’s better to keep your guards up. We have far too many things to be wary about.”

“Yes. I understand.”

“Very well.”

“Ah! Jack-sama!”

“Hm?”

Since he looked like someone I could trust, I decided to express my feelings honestly too. 

“Luna-sama is a very admirable person. She never compromises and she always stays true to her justice no matter what. I think Luna-sama is a wonderful person indeed.”

Like a parent, like a child. I really admired Luna-sama. However, the one that raised Luna-sama was none but her parents. In other words, given how admirable Luna-sama was, Jack-sama must also be a person with high integrity.

“Yes?”

“However.. Kanato-kun,you have great power within you.”

“Power…”

“Please use that power today to protect my daughter.”

Jack-sama suddenly approached me and whispered.

“I won’t forgive you if you make my daughter sad.”

“-!! I-I won’t! I won’t do anything that will make her sad!”

“After your date, stay over for a bit. I want to have a long and thorough talk with you.”

“Kanato-san?”

Luna-sama tilted her head to the side. Since we had been whispering, she couldn’t hear what we were talking about. However, I couldn’t bring myself to say anything to her.

While I was still feeling a bit intimidated, Jack-sama waved his hand at me. I bowed my head to him before turning on my heel. 

Then, Luna-sama came to my side. We started walking together. 

I thought Luna-sama’s father would be more rigid, but he turned out to be the cool type of a dad. Except the final words he left to me. He was a bit scary there. 

However, the words he uttered before stuck to my heart more than the last ones.

『You should also stay true to your own sense of justice. Unfortunately, there is no justice better than yours in this kingdom. It pains me to know most people refuse to recognize your sense of justice.』

The moment I heard those words, I could immediately tell that Jack-sama was not an ordinary person. 

Selene and the Others’ Side

“Kanato…”

Rina and Elena looked very anxious while on the other hand, Selene, Jeff and Mia looked so excited as they watched Kanato and Luna walking together. The two of them were walking from the mansion to the main gate, going through the tall iron fence. 

“….”

The gatekeeper of the Lennox family noticed the five of them, but instead of snitching them to Luna, the guard only chuckled awkwardly. 

Selene slowly caressed her cheek sensually as she said,”Let’s follow them.”
