Chapter 47: Declaration

While Mia-sama, Jeff-sama and I were running with all of our might, Luna-sama and Selene-sama also followed close behind us so that they wouldn’t lose us.

The other nobles and students only stood there with their mouths gaping open, watching us run with bewilderment evident on their faces.

Soon enough, the special building came into view. I pushed myself to the limit and ran even faster. 

I descended down the underground staircase. It was pitch black. 

I whispered quietly. 

“SMG… Add light.”

An SMG with high functioning LED lights attached to it appeared in front of me. This LED light was powered by an 18650 battery. 

Relying on the LED light, I finally arrived in front of the underground warehouse where Rina and Elena-sama were kept captive. 

“….Damn it. It won’t open.”

The thick door was double-locked. One mechanical lock and one magic lock. The tightly shut door completely cut off all connections to the outside. 

No matter how hard I banged and hit the door, it wouldn’t budge. 

Turning around, I shouted to the people who had been following me from behind. 

“Everyone, please step away from the door!”

“”….””

Everyone obediently complied. 

“Rina-chan~ You’re already hot enough, right? Let this Bern-sama make you feel good~”

“Please wait a moment…”

“Tch! Damn it! Just how long are you going to make me wait?! Hurry up and surrender yourself to my embrace!”

“Elena, I will thoroughly dye you in my colors…”

We’re running out of time. 

“C4.”

I chanted and a C4 bomb appeared. I quickly attached the bomb to the door and poured a lot of my magic power into it to make sure the bomb would be able to break through the barrier. 

I detonated the bomb and accompanied by a loud noise, the door was pulverized into tiny pieces. 

There, inside the room, I could see the figure of four people illuminated by the bright light of magic stones.

Bern and Harry looked visibly shocked. Their shoulders tensing up. 

“Rina! Now!”

“Yes, Elena-sama!”

Seizing the opportunity, Rina and Elena-sama ran toward me as fast as they could. 

“Onii-sama!”

“Rina!”

Rina jumped into me and rubbed her cheek against mine. I could smell it, Rina’s scent. The warmth of her skin comforted the turmoil in my heart. Her silky black hair, her soft body, her big marshmallows, everything about her was still safe and sound. 

Tears welled up in my eyes but I desperately held them back while stroking Rina’s head gently. 

But then…

“-!!!”

The moment Rina looked at my face, her body tensed up. She quickly moved away from me. Her face was beet red and she seemed to be quivering a little. 

Confused, my gaze unconsciously ended up at Elena-sama. I tilted my head to the side, Elena-sama looked visibly flustered too. She seemed to be gripping onto her skirt nervously while stealing glances my way. 

Their behavior seemed strange but I decided to focus on Bern and Harry first. 

“Harry-sama. I believe I’ve made myself clear, haven’t I? If you do anything to Rina, I will destroy not only you but everything that you have.”

“Hm?~ But I haven’t done anything to her though?”

“…Then do tell me, what exactly were you doing to Rina and Elena-sama in here?”

“Well you see~ The two of them looked unwell so I took them here to take care of them. That’s it~”

“What did you say….”

His audacity provoked my urge to kill him in the most violent way possible. 

On the other hand, I realized that Rina and Elena-sama looked unwell. They were breathing heavily and it seemed they couldn’t speak coherently either. Fortunately, Jeff-sama and Mia-sama were there to protect them. 

But surely, this must be due to the effect of the drug. 

I aimed my SGM at Harry’s head and Jeff-sama, who was still holding Elena-sama protectively, tried to provoke Harry. 

“Harry-sama, you’re such a filthy coward. You’re so disgusting that your mere existence is tarnishing the honor of the Percy family. Indeed. Like father, like son. We know your father is deeply envious of my father’s success in the world. We know how repulsive you and your father are, always trying to win against my father through any means possible, including abuse and tyranny.”

Upon hearing Jeff-sama’s words, Harry’s handsome face contorted disgustingly ugly. 

“You dare to speak like that to me?! I’m the eldest son of a duke! I will crush you! I will crush you and your family until no trace is left!!”

Enraged, Harry was about to attack Jeff-sama brutally but… Someone intervened. 

“Stop.”

Her sharp voice rang inside this dilapidated warehouse. She was usually so gentle and soft but now, she looked really dignified and sharp. 

“Selene-sama…”

The beautiful girl with pink hair donned in school uniform had finally caught up to us, along with the other students from the lowest class.

“That’s Selene-sama! She’s engaged to Harry-sama!”

“Who-Whoa… What’s going to happen here?”

“This is bad…”

All students from the lowest class trembled in fear but Selene-sama remained calm. She confidently made her way to my side. 

“Harry-san.”

“Princess Selene. Why are you here?”

“How would you feel if my spouse were actually a vile, despicable and malicious person?”

Selene-sama and Harry bit his lips hard, trying to suppress his growing anger toward Jeff-sama. 

“That would be unacceptable. Anyone who dares to sully the name of Halkeginia Kingdom should be deposed. As your fiancé, I won’t allow anyone to sully your honor.”

He said with a servile smile on his face but Selene-sama wasn’t even the least unfazed.

“Oh my. Is that so?”

“Of course. After all, my love for you is true. Princess Selene, I love you.”

From the outside, this scene might had looked romantic. A guy whispering words of love to his fiancée. However, to me, Harry was merely trying to hide his disgusting side by whispering sweet nothing. He looked like a cunning snake, trying to rule its victim to the bottom of a swamp. 

Selene-sama sighed, her face was tinged with a hint of resignation. 

And then, she opened her mouth. 

“A despicable man who would drug innocent girls with drugs that can only be obtained from the demon’s territory…. A man like that doesn’t deserve to be my husband, right?”

“-!! Princess Selene!! Tha-That’s not true! I can explain-“

Harry tried to come up with excuses but Selene-sama quickly pointed her finger at him and shouted loudly. 

“I hereby declare the breaking off of our engagement right here and now!”
