- Chapter 4 - Library
Library
During the break, quite some people gather around Souji-kun, asking him questions.
Although my friends invited me too, I declined and quietly sit at my seat, watching the scene.
To be honest, I don’t want anyone to know that we are living together.
Souji-kun seems to be answering each question from our classmates one by one. His profile gives off the impression of a serious character.
The classmates around him would occasionally get loud and lively, but Souji-kun remains expressionless the whole time.
Because it is the first day of school, the class is ended quite early and club activities are being held in the afternoon.
Those who are not in club activities can go home directly, while those who have club activities would eat their lunch that they had brought with them before going to club activities.
I’m in the literature club, so I’m eating with the literature club members right now.
After we ate our lunch, we go to the library to look for materials.
By the time me and my friends arrive at the library, I see Souji-kin sitting alone, reading a book.
Souji-kun shouldn’t have any club activities yet, he should be free to go home by now. As I recall, Mama didn’t prepare any lunch for Souji-kun to eat at school.
He is quietly turning the pages of his book while keeping his great posture.
Seeing the sight of Souji-kun reading his book, I can’t help but to admire him.
“Ami-chan, what’s wrong? Hmm, that’s the transfer student in your class, right? Could it be that you are interested in him?”
Suddenly, Sakura-chan approached me from behind and said so, she is in the same literature club with me.
“No, no! That’s not it… It’s not like I’m interested in him or anything like that, I’m just curious of what he’s doing.”
“Fufufu, yeah, he is very handsome, isn’t he?”
“I told you, it’s not like that!”
“Well, well, we should be quiet in the library. Fufufu~”
Sakura-chan say so with a grin on her face. After that, I started to search for the materials that I have originally come for.
After about two hours of searching, I have gathered the most of the materials I need. I complete the borrowing process and return to the literature club room.
I take a glance at Souji-kun as I leave the library, he is still in the same posture as when I arrived, engrossed in his book.
In the literature club room, the topic of Souji-kun came up several times, but I casually brushed it off.
At exactly 4 o’clock, the bell rings, indicating the end of club activities.
We start to clean up the club room and say goodbye to everybody.
As I’m walking home, I notice Souji-kun walking a bit ahead of me.
I keep my distance from him and continue to walk slowly, pretending to be focused on my own thoughts.
