Souji’s POV

My father then took me to the house where I will be staying.

‘My wife know that you are the child of my ex-wife, but I told my daughters that you are a child of a distant relative.’

Before going into the house, my father told me so in advance.

This means that although that I will live with my father, my name will still remain as ‘Souji Ando’ which is my mother surname. I will not have to change my name into my father’s surname which is ‘Mamiya’.

I was deeply relived hearing that.

My father told me that he has two daughters with his current wife, that means that they are my half-siblings.

The first time I met them, I just thought in my mind,

‘So they are my sisters?’

I didn’t feel anything in particular.

On the other hand, my father’s current wife treated me very harshly from the very beginning.

But that attitude of my father’s wife is kind of helpful.

I can’t bring myself to forgive my father even if he were to apologize, and realizing that I don’t need to involve myself more than necessary brought some relief to me—it kind of eased my mind in that sense.

Speaking words of forgiveness to someone you can’t actually forgive is something I’ve learned from experience, it’s not such an easy thing to do.

After moving to the Mamiya household, I focused solely on my studies. Because I had taken some time off school to take care of my mother and arranging her funeral, I was determined to catch up before the new semester started.

Thanks to that, I was able to keep up with my classes without any issues when the new semester began.

As for the food, my father’s wife always cooked retort pouches or frozen foods for me, but as long as it is edible, it’s not a problem for me. I don’t want to eat her home-cooked food either.

I also can’t bring myself to take a bath in a bathtub where the people in this house have used, so I always just take a shower.

They also told me to do my own laundry, which is nice because I don’t want my laundry to be done together with them.

At school, I’m in the same class with the older sister, Ami.

Ami never got involved with me at school.

However, suddenly one night, Ami knocked on my door to tell me that she doesn’t want anyone at school to find our about us living together. I also felt the same way, so I cooperated with her on this matter.

The older sister, Ami, is in the same class as me. Whether I like it or not, I will probably have to get involved with her in the future. That’s why I decided to be friendly with her.

Since I can’t participate in any of the club activities because of my financial issues, I decided to volunteer to be a student council member to get some extra grades.

I also want to get a good high school recommendation from the teachers.

Honestly, I wasn’t really interested in student council activities, but I decided to run for student council because I have no other way to get some extra marks for my school record.

Though my teacher and Ami expressed their concern, I approached the election with a relaxed attitude, thinking it was okay if things didn’t work out.

During my speech, I didn’t know what else to say to fill the allotted time, so I just simply sang to fill the time.

Surprisingly, it seemed to work in my favor, and I ended up winning the election by a large margin.

I was even surprised myself.

But now I feel much more at ease mentally for the upcoming exams.

With some involvement in student council activities and continuing my studies, I believe I can smoothly achieve my goal of getting into a good high school.
