I Ended Up Pretending to Be the Boyfriend of a Beautiful but Tough Classmate for Just a Month, but It Seems That She Has Awakened Her Yandere Tendencies Because of That. - Chapter 78
Chapter 78
♡
“Mmm, that was delicious. Hey, do you remember our plan for tomorrow?”
“Yeah, of course. The amusement park, right?”
“Hehe, correct. Ah, the day just flew by. I wish every day could be like this.”
“We wouldn’t have enough money. Seriously, maybe I should get a part-time job for summer break.”
“Yeah, you’re right. I can’t keep relying on my mom forever. Let’s look for a good job together next time.”
After leaving Tokito-san’s shop, we walked home slowly while talking about things like that.
Then, on the other side, I spotted someone familiar.
“Oh, you two are as close as ever.”
“Mika! What are you doing here?”
“I was on my way to the supermarket to buy dinner. By the way, how was the aquarium?”
“It was super fun! Right, Suzukaze-kun?”
“U-uh, yeah. It was fun.”
“Why do you sound so awkward? Did Riara tell you not to talk to other girls in front of her or something?”
As Mika-san tried to peek at my face, Takamiya stepped in between us and said, “I don’t like it when you get that close.”
“Haha, how cute. So, did you stop by Tokito-san’s shop after the aquarium?”
“Yeah, we did. And it was really good! You should come with us next time, Mika.”
“Okay! I’ll go check out where it is while I take a walk.”
Mika-san waved her hand, then she quickly walked off while saying, “Well then, be happy together!”

“Jinguji-san, I have something to tell you.”
Suddenly, a girl named Enjou-san came up to me and sat down in the seat where Asou-kun had been sitting, as if it was the most natural thing in the world.
“Hey, someone was sitting there.”
“Oh, sorry. But this will only take a moment.”
“What do you want? Also, who are you?”
“I transferred here recently, but I’ve known Suzukaze Kyou-kun, the guy dating Takamiya Riara, for a long time.”
“Oh really? So, what do you want?”
“Oh, right. Well, I don’t think Takamiya Riara is actually dating Suzukaze-kun.”
With a smug expression, she said that to me.
“Riara isn’t dating Suzukaze-kun? Oh, okay. So what?”
“Huh? No, I mean, she just used Kyou-kun to manipulate the election results. You should have been the one to win.”
“Oh, is that what this is about? Tell me, were you even here during the election?”
“Uh, no, I wasn’t.”
“Then there’s no point in arguing. That victory was the result of Riara’s determination beating mine. It wasn’t because the people around her were stupid or because she got lucky. Even I understand that much.”
As I said that, I found myself getting frustrated at admitting my loss.
Whether those two are a couple, married, or just have mutual feelings, I don’t care about that.
I lost to the bond between those two.
Friendship, love, lust—I don’t know what it was.
But I lost.
Even after that, I tried to get in their way, but it never worked.
I acted tough out of frustration, but deep down, I knew better than anyone that I had lost.
I don’t need someone who knows nothing about it to lecture me.
“E-even so, Takamiya Riara cheated—”
“What exactly was unfair about it? Are you saying I lost to some kind of trickery?”
“T-that’s not—”
“I don’t want anyone else complaining about the girl who beat me. You should just go home.”
Losing to her made me realize something important.
I understood what truly mattered.
And that important thing came back to me.
I get what this girl is trying to say.
But I don’t need it anymore.
“…Wow, so even you got charmed by Takamiya Riara.”
“Don’t say it like that. It sounds like we formed some kind of bond. I just admitted my own mistakes. I don’t know what you’re trying to do, but instead of scheming behind the scenes, why don’t you try fighting fair and square?”
As if speaking to my past self.
After I said that, the girl named Enjou quietly stood up and then she left the shop.
“…Maria, who was that?”
Keita came back after seeing the girl leave.
“Maybe my past self came back to haunt me?”
“Huh? A doppelgänger?”
“Whatever, it doesn’t matter. Anyway, since we finally got to talk after so long, let’s talk about something more fun. Sanae, can I get a coffee?”
After ending the conversation there, I called out to Sanae, who was in the back. She mumbled something incomprehensible, “So that’s the Demon Lord, hmm,” she said that while pouring coffee into the cup.
“Maria-san, do you think the president will be okay?”
Sanae suddenly asked.
“I don’t know. But I think she’ll be fine. That girl seems to be protected by some unseen force.”
It was the same during the election.
Of course, her victory was her own achievement, but I can’t deny that there was some mysterious power at play behind the scenes.
Maybe it’s because of the way she lives her life.
Or maybe it was something else.
“Well, whatever the case, she’ll be fine.”
More importantly, I need to focus on what’s in front of me.
“Sanae, thanks.”
“Oh my, how rare. Maria-san is showing gratitude.”
“I say thanks sometimes. Anyway, I’ll handle the rest.”
“Alright, I’ll be counting on you.”
Just as Keita came back again, Sanae quietly disappeared into the back; she’s being considerate
