- Chapter 17 - Something Really Good
Something Really Good
“Y-Yukito, good morning.”
“…good morning.”
As I settle into my seat and begin preparing for the quiz, Yukina suddenly approaches me.
I wonder what she wants?
Since I’ve told her to keep our interactions to the bare minimum of greetings, I have no intention of getting involved with her any further, so I simply start to read my textbook.
The quiz material should cover from here, right?
A lot of things happened yesterday, and lately, I’ve been preoccupied with that matter, so I haven’t had much time to study.
Because of it, my score on this quiz probably won’t be very good.
However, since I’ve studied regularly all this time, I hope I won’t get such a bad score.
“……”
“……”
I start to study on the parts that the teacher said are important for the quiz.
“……h-hey, Yukito?”
“……”
Ah, that’s right, this is the part the teacher said would be on the quiz.
I can solve with without any problems, but I should review it just in case.
There won’t be much time to do anything else before the quiz anyway.
I want to make sure to get the highest score I can.
“…Yukito.”
“…what is it, Sakashita-san?”
Since she keeps bothering me, I responded to her.
It might be an option to just ignore her and not respond any further, but she’ll probably come back during another time anyway.
In that case, it’s better to finish whatever business she has quickly.
“What’s the matter?”
“Why don’t you call me ‘Yukina’?”
“I don’t think it’s appropriate for me to call you ‘Yukina’ after breaking up with you, Sakashita-san.”
“B-but…”
“Is that all you want to talk about?”
“…n-no, that’s not all. I saw you came to school with Setsuna today.”
“…did you come here just for small talk? Even if it’s true that I came to school with Setsuna today, it doesn’t concern you right, Sakashita-san?”
“T-That’s…yes, but…um…”
“There’s nothing else to talk about, right? I have to prepare for the quiz. I’ve been quite busy lately.”
“Hmm!? Y-Yes, you’re right, I’m s-sorry. Also…about that, I’m really sorry. I know it’s unforgivable, but still, I’m sorry.”
“……”
After saying so, Yukina walks away from my seat.
Why now…?
Such emotions are bubbling inside me, causing my heart to feel uneasy.
However, there is no point dwelling on it.
I try to focus and begin studying for the quiz again.

Setsuna’s POV
I wonder what Yukito is doing right now.
I’m thinking about this while chatting with my friends.
It’s not like I’m not listening to what my friends are talking about.
However, most of the time they are just talking about trivial matters, so there is no point in listening to it.
In that case, it would be much wiser to think about the person I love.
…but, that’s a bit rude to my friends, right?
Things are getting better with Yukito, whom I’ve been in love with for a long time.
My mind is full of thoughts about Yukito, I can’t stop thinking about him.
However, Onee-chan’s face this morning…
She tried to covered it up with makeup when leaving the house, but it’s clear that she couldn’t sleep well last night.
When I said good morning to Onee-chan, she flinched, it was really funny.
It was so hard to hold back my laughter.
Also, Onee-chan saw me and Yukito when we were on our way to school this morning.
Yukito might not have realized it, but I did.
Judging from the look on Onee-chan’s face, I’m sure she must be depressed right now.
That’s right…after today’s marathon, I’ll deepen my relationship with Yukito and make Onee-chan suffer more.
Perhaps, when I go back home today, I’ll make it even more interesting by telling Mom the reason Onee-chan broke up with Yukito.
Sooner or later, we’ll eventually have to talk about it anyway, right?
After hurting the person I love and cherish so much, it’s just natural that I want to make her suffer.
In the past, Onee-chan helped me a lot, and I was okay with suppressing my feelings towards Yukito because I know that I was no match for him at all.
However, I don’t think I’m lower than a cheating scumbag.
“Setsuna? What’s up? You’re smiling so much.”
“Eh? Ah, really? Sorry about that.”
“No, it’s okay. Did something good happen?”
“Yeah, something really good happened, and I’m sure even better things will happen from now on.”
“Hmm? I don’t quite understand, but I’m glad for you.”
“Yeah.”
