I wake up early in the morning.

I sit up, open the window, and take in the fresh air.

…yeah, it’s the same as always.

Well, I feel a bit lighter somehow.

Maybe it’s because I broke up with Yukina yesterday.

Also, last night…

I’m grateful that Setsuna called me out of concern last night.

I’ve been relying on her since we were finding out about Yukina’s affair. I owe her a lot.

I truly have nothing but gratitude towards her.

How that my mind is clear, I should go ahead and make breakfast.

Heading downstairs, I prepare breakfast as usual.

When Dad comes out of his room, he has bed hair just like the other day.

I tell him about it and he immediately fix it.

As the busy morning passes, it’s time for me to head to school.

I double-check today’s class schedule and make sure that I have everything I need in my bag.

Gym clothes, literature book, notebook…yeah everything is there.

Closing my bag, I glance around the house before taking a deep breath and stepping outside.

“Ah, good morning, Yukito.”

“Eh? Good morning, Setsuna. What’s up? What are you doing here?”

“Um, well…I just thought it would be nice if I can go to school with you, Yukito. Is that okay?”

When I open the door, I’m surprised to see Setsuna standing right there.

“Of course, it’s fine. I don’t have a girlfriend anymore.”

“Thank you. I would have been a little shocked if you refused.”

“Why would I refuse? Ah, but next time, it would be nice if you tell me beforehand, Setsuna.”

“Sorry about that. I actually wanted to tell you last night, but I was having so much fun talking to Yukito that I forgot about it.”

“Hmm!? I-I see. Well, that’s fine then.”

“Yeah, but I’ll make sure to tell you beforehand next time.”

I find myself blushing when Setsuna said how enjoyable it is to talk to me.

Perhaps, it’s because I’m becoming aware of my feelings towards her.

“Shall we go then?”

“Yeah, let’s go.”

It’s quite unusual for the two of us to go to school together like this.

Before Yukina and I started dating, the three of us, me, Setsuna and Yukina usually go to school together.

However, it’s nice to go to school together with Setsuna like this, just the two of us.

“Come to think of it, it seems like we’re doing marathon for PE today. I don’t have much stamina, so I’m not looking forward to it. Why do we have to run without any goals or rewards?”

“Yeah, I understand how you feel. I’d feel more motivated if there are some goals or rewards. Like, what if they offered some bonus marks to those who beat their records?”

“That could work, but…hey, Yukito.”

“What?”

“How about we make our own rewards?”

“Our own rewards? Like treating each other to juice? Or buying something for each other?”

As I say so, Setsuna blushes slightly and shakes her head.

“That’s also nice…but what about, umm…we’ll have a sleep call with each other again tonight? Or maybe going out together on our next holiday…?”

“Hmm!?”

I’m surprised by Setsuna’s words. She said so timidly, how cute.

I can’t help but cover my mouth with my hand to hide my grin.

I don’t want anyone to see my face right now.

“Well sure, but…it doesn’t actually sound like a reward, does it? We can always do that any other day. Are you sure about that, Setsuna?”

“I-It’s more than enough. It’s more than I can ask for.”
