- Chapter 10-11 - Of Course, It’s Because You’re Cheating on Me/Day of Happiness and Anguish
Of Course, It’s Because You’re Cheating on Me
I thought I will wake up feeling anxious today, but surprisingly, I feel okay.
I open the window and take a deep breath of the fresh air.
“All right, today is the day.”
After stretching my body and lightly slapping my cheeks to cheer myself up, I leave my room.
I wash my face and look at myself in the mirror.
My face looks the same as always.
After wiping off the water on my face with a towel, I head to the kitchen.
Since I’m cooking rice today, I’ll make a Japanese breakfast.
I’m pretty sure there is salmon in the fridge as well.
I take out the salmon fillets as well as tofu from the fridge and start cooking right away.
I’m used to doing this, so it only takes a few minutes to finish cooking.
By the time I’m done cooking, Dad is already in the living room reading newspaper.
I bring the food to the table, eat breakfast with Dad, prepare to go to school and leave the house.
I’ve made up my mind.
Everything will be fine.
There’s nothing to worry about.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
After school.
“Y-Yukito. You’re going home with me today, right?”
“Yeah.”
Well, today would probably be the last time we’re going home together.
“So, what’s the important thing you wanted to talk about?”
“I can’t say it yet.”
“I-I see.”
After thinking where to have this conversation, I decided that it would be best to discuss it at my empty house.
Yukina’s house is out of the question, and if we were to talk at a café or a family restaurant, I might lose my composure and end up raising my voice, disturbing other customers.
Honestly, I don’t want to bring her back to my home, but there is no other way.
For this last time, I have to endure it.
Without saying a single word, Yukina and I walk towards my house.
“S-So, today’s a home date, huh? I-I wish you’d told me that from the beginning.”
“No, it’s not. I just want to talk about something important with you, it’s a conversation we can’t have outside, it might disturb others. So, we’ll do it at my place.”
“I see…”
We walk side by side silently until we reach my house.
I unlock the door and lead her to my room.
After sitting across from Yukina so we can talk, I take a sip of tea to quench my dry throat before talking.
“Yukina, let’s break up.”
“…eh?”
The words came out of my mouth more smoothly than I expected.
I thought I would hesitate to say it and stumble on my words.
Upon hearing my words, Yukina seems both surprised and sad.
“C-Can I ask you why you’re breaking up with me?”
“That’s…something you probably already know, right?”
As I say so, Yukina, who likely has an idea, looks guilty and averts her gaze from mine.
“Of course, it’s not because we haven’t been going home together lately.”
“……”
“It’s because you’re cheating on me.”
Saying so, I show her a photo on my smartphone.
It’s a photo of Yukina linking arms with a guy I don’t know.
Day of Happiness and Anguish
Yukina’s POV
Yukito and I have a relationship that goes back a long time.
I always believed our relationship would last forever, and I wanted it to.
It’s me, Yukito and Setsuna.
Since we were little, the three of us got along well.
We sometimes would argue with each other, but Yukito and I would protect the timid Setsuna together.
We sometimes even had sleepovers at our house, spending such happy times together.
Now that Setsuna has grown up and gained confidence in herself, she is no longer behind me and Yukito.
As a result, the relationship between me, Setsuna and Yukito gradually changed.
It all started when I start to understand the feeling of love.
Despite knowing that Setsuna likes Yukito, I confessed my feelings and ended up dating with Yukito.
Mom also supports our relationship. So, my relationship with Yukito was going well.
Even now, I still remember my first date with Yukito.
Even though I’ve gone out with Yukito many times before, I was really nervous for our first date.
What kind of clothes should I wear?
Will Yukito find me cute?
I was really worried.
Even worrying about it was fun and made me really happy.
On our first date, we held hands for the first time since becoming a couple.
I was really nervous, wondering if I was sweating or if I smelled okay, but Yukito seemed to feel the same.
Our hands were sweaty, and we would steal glances at each other. It was really cute.
As we went on more dates, Yukito finally kissed me for the first time, and then we kissed many times thereafter.
No matter how many times we kissed, every time Yukito kissed me, my heart fluttered.
Everyday truly felt happy.
After kissing, we…well, did that too, of course.
I think it was on Christmas Day.
I still remember the kiss lasted longer than usual.
It was a bit painful at first, but Yukito was really gentle and considerate of my body.
So, it felt more pleasurable than painful.
Above all, I was really happy for his thoughtfulness.
By giving each other our first times, our relationship deepened further.
However, at the same time, a certain emotion began to rise from deep within my heart.
I wondered if I was really the right person for Yukito.
Yukito is much more mature than other people our age.
He is always calm and composed.
On top of that, he also is really smart, good at sports and tall.
Since entering high school, his already handsome face became even more attractive.
Moreover, he even helps with household chores, trying to ease the burden of his father, Yuito-san.
Naturally, with such an attractive personality, Yukito catches the attention of others.
Even in middle school, Yukito was somewhat popular, but as he entered high school, he started to take care of his appearance and grow taller.
As a result, he became even more popular.
On a day filled with both happiness and anguish, I decided to start working part-time because I wanted to earn money myself and give a present to Yukito for his birthday.
My mom said that she would pay for it, but she seemed to understand my feelings and gave me permission to work part-time.
If I was going to work part-time, I thought I’d like to work at a trendy café or something like that, so I went to several interviews and started working.
Earning money through part-time job was really enjoyable for me.
At first, there were many things I wasn’t used to, but all the senpai at my workplace were kind and fun.
During that time, I met one senpai.
