Her grip around my arm tightens and I continue to walk, feeling the softness and warmth of her against my arm.

While it’s my first time in the empire, this is still a nearby city… I’m really curious about the size and liveliness of the imperial city.

It was when Runa and I were in line at the food stall, buying skewered meat. I sensed that the surroundings had become very quiet, aside from the vendor who was serving us. 

Glancing around, I saw that the ordinary-looking people had backed away, and soldiers were huddling together and casting glances our way.

“Xeno, should we just eat and go?”

“Sure thing.”

Just those words were enough for me to understand everything. 

The meat was so delicious that it would be a waste to just gobble it up quickly, so I wanted to take my time and enjoy it the next chance I got. 

Just as we had finished eating, a man in gaudy clothing appeared, looking nauseating.

“Excuse me, beautiful foreign lady over there. Can I have a word with you?”

I sighed, thinking that it was my turn to step up and do something. 

I picked up Runa, who was making a grumpy face and clicking her tongue, like I was carrying a princess, and ran away.

“…Xeno♪”

It was sudden, but Runa didn’t even scream; instead, she looked at me with a happy expression. 

I wasn’t particularly worried about my strength, but since she was a woman, I could carry her more easily than I could a man…and it didn’t tire me at all. In fact, I felt like I could run even faster.

“What are you doing to my bride-to-be, you bastard!!”

“If you’re talking in your sleep, do it in your sleep, you piece of shit. This girl is my wife, you fool.”

“That’s right~! Sleep talk in your sleep, you trash~!”

The person was definitely a nobleman judging by his physique, but Runa and I didn’t care.

Upon giving instructions to his soldiers, all of the soldiers present began to run towards us, but they couldn’t catch up to me, who was surprisingly fast.

“So this is what you meant this morning?”

I continued running with Runa in my arms. 

Naturally, causing a commotion as we ran around the city, and after running a certain distance, Runa ended up carrying me while running and made a big leap. 

While I was fascinated by her acrobatic movements, moving from rooftop to rooftop, Runa found something.

“I found it… now, take this! Ei!”

It was a luxurious mansion. 

When Runa pointed her finger towards the garden, the ground sank as if a huge gravity had been applied.

“Well, we’ve caused enough trouble already, so this is nothing. I could have burned down the whole mansion, but there seem to be some people inside, so I’ll stop here.”

“Is this the guy’s mansion from earlier?”

“Yes. I sensed the same magical residue as the guy from earlier.”

Well, let’s just say she did a good job. 

Runa then jumped us out of the city at once. We then leisurely walked away from the scene.
