“I’ve never seen her fight before, but I’m sure she’s strong… but, you know, she’s just so cute in her everyday form.”

“Yeah. Yesterday, she was so happy when I cuddled up to her and stroked her face. And then, when I was leaving, she even licked my cheek… is that like a kiss between humans?”

Runa’s face was turning red. I didn’t think our conversation about Luna and me was that embarrassing, but I guess it might have been a little strange for a man to talk about how cute a dragon is.

“But she really is special, you know?”

“I was originally worried about whether I would be able to continue as a dragon handler. But then I was assigned to her, the dragon queen… and without a doubt, it’s because of her that I’ve come to love dragons even more than before.”

“Yeah. Well, Luna might think I’m not doing much, but I love spending time with her at a relaxed pace. I don’t know how to explain it, but being able to communicate with her to some extent makes me feel like I’m spending time with a person.”

“That’s why I love her so much. I want to continue being her caretaker for as long as possible.”
