- I Broke Up With My Girlfriend Who Was Cheating On Me, But She Was So Deeply Sorry That I Couldn't Help But Forgive Her.
- Chapter 18: Devilish Tuesday.
Devilish Tuesday.
Tuesday.
I really moved around too much yesterday and my whole body aches.
Last week, I practiced with Amemiya almost every day after school, but I guess it’s hard after more than 2 years of gap…
Well, I hope I was able to show her some of my good points?
She seems to like basketball, and I played well… I think.
The first game was a good fade-away under the tight marking of Daichi. Well, I’m proud of myself.
When I went out the front door of the house, I saw Ayaka at a distance where I could see her, and I quickened my steps as if to run away from her.
…This has not changed since last week.
When I arrived at school.
“Umikata-kun, good morning!”
“A very good morning, Umikata-senpai!”
“Oh, Umikita-kun, yoo-hoo!”
I was greeted by my classmates from freshman year and people I’ve seen in the reading club room.
I greeted them back, but what in the world is going on?
I entered the class with my thoughts running through my head, and I saw Sorahashi furrowing her brow and thinking about something with her arms folded and her eyes shut.
I sat down in my seat, wondering what she was thinking.
“Sup-“
“Good morning.”
I greeted Yomogi in the morning as usual.
“Yoo-hoo, Umi.”
Akifumi joins the conversation.
Yesterday I avoided joining the basketball team… Is he trying to recruit me again?
“Good job yesterday, you must have been approached strangely today.”
“Oh, yeah.”
“Apparently, you can study well, and after your performance at the ball game yesterday, you know that you can also do sports, and you know that you don’t have a girlfriend because word has spread that you broke up, and you have a guard up, so I guess that if you would take her as your girlfriend, she must have been very nice… right?”
“The hell…?”
“I’ve already had three people ask me to introduce her. What should I do, get her introduced?”
Akifumi said with a grin.
“I’m sorry… but I’m not ready for that yet.”
I replied with a bit of bitterness on my face.
Then Akifumi slapped me on the back with a bang.
“Ow, oii!”
“Well, if you feel up to it, I can get you a blind date or I can introduce you to someone, just let me know anytime.”
With a smirk on his face, he turned his back to me and returned to his seat with his hands fluttering in the air.
Seriously… he’s really in a good mood… he’s a good guy.
“Hmmm……not yet, huh?”
Yomogi seemed to be thinking about something while looking at me and Akifumi.
Lunch break.
Daichi invited me to go to the rooftop.
“Sup.”
“Yesterday, a little.”
“Yes, Chisaki-senpai is a cooperator .”
And then,
“Umi-senpai! Chisaki-senpai! Hello!”
Amemiya’s here.
“Hmm? What’s up, Amemiya?”
“I called her, asked her to come have lunch with us.”
“Huh, you guys know each other?”
“Yesterday, a little.”
“Yes, Chisaki-senpai was a cooperator .”
Cooperators? Oh, did she ask him to help with the photographing of the basketball team or something?
While me, Daichi and Amemiya were chatting and eating dinner, Amemiya asked me as if she remembered something.
“What do you think of junior devilish girls, Umi-senpai?”
“I don’t really understand what you’re talking about.”
“I was told by a friend in my class that there’s a demand for devilish junior characters among seniors.”
Hmm? Is there an older person whom she’s targeting? It’s not Daichi, right? If it’s Daichi, I’ll have to stop her…
“What do you mean by ‘devilish’?”
Amemiya operated her smartphone while saying, Let’s see…
“Embarrassing someone’s head when you first meet them…”
“…You wanna do that?”
“I can’t do that. It is impossible. Various internal organs pop out, stop, or rupture.”
“Gross… What else?”
Again, Amemiya operated her smartphone.
“Making lunch… and doing the ‘ahhh’ thing…”
“Can you cook?”
“No, I can’t. The ingredients were carbonized during the cooking class.”
“That’s a noble sacrifice… What else?”
Amemiya was on the phone again.
“Without permission, coming into the house, marking the bed, sniffing the pillow…”
“…”
“I can’t do it! I don’t think I can handle being the devilish type.”
“Haha! Amemiya, you’re good enough as you are.”
“I know, right?! Oh, I have P.E. class after this! I have to change… Well then, Umi-senpai, Chisaki-senpai, see you later…”
After saying that, Amemiya waved her hand and ran away.
Seeing this, Daichi laughed and said,
“She’s a funny one.”
“Yeah, I’m never bored with her.”
“I bet. You give a good look, when you’re with Amemiya.”
A good look, huh?
It’s true, it’s thanks to Amemiya that I was able to play basketball, which I wasn’t planning on doing for real anymore.
To be honest, the ball games were a lot of fun.
I was a little nervous when a junior member of my middle school basketball team broke down in tears.
“Maybe you’re right…”
Daichi smiled when I replied.
Oi, you look better than I do.
