I became the boyfriend of the school's madonna, who had turned down numerous confessions, but somehow, without realizing it, I wasn't just playing a role anymore - Chapter 56
Episode 56: Rivalry and Letting Off Steam
“Neene, do you want to become a part of Kokoa’s family?”
Listening to our conversation, Kokoa tilted her head and asked Misaki.
In the normal flow of conversation, it should have been whether Kokoa would become a part of Misaki’s family, but why did it turn out this way?
“Why do you ask?”
Misaki also seemed curious about Kokoa’s intentions and asked with a smile.
“Kokoa, it’s no good without Niini…! Hey, come to Kokoa’s house…!”
With a serious expression, Kokoa began tugging at Misaki’s clothes.
Why is this child so cute?
I’ll definitely spoil her for the rest of my life.
In fact, I want to take care of her for my entire life.
That’s how cute Kokoa was to me.
“Kokoa-chan really loves her big brother, doesn’t she?”
“Nnh…!”
Towards Misaki who seemed to be enjoying herself with a smile, Kokoa nodded vigorously.
She had been angry at me just a moment ago, but she’s so honest and really cute.
And Kokoa—
“Neene, Sensei too…!”
She said something strange again.
However, though her words were somewhat unclear, this time I could understand her intention.
Misaki seemed to understand it too, as she wore a very subtle expression.
“Do you want me to bring my big sister along too…?”
“Nnh! Kokoa loves Sensei, so it’s better if we’re together…!”
It was obvious to anyone that Kokoa was attached to Sasagawa-sensei.
She was even more attached to Sasagawa-sensei than Misaki, and Misaki understood that.
So she probably unconsciously wore that subtle expression.
“I-Is it no good if it’s just me…?”
With a forced smile, Misaki asked Kokoa.
Then, Kokoa’s expression visibly drooped.
“…Sensei, wants to be together too…”
She’s a young child, so she inevitably becomes honest.
She doesn’t mean any harm.
Still, it must be damaging to Misaki.
“…I won’t lose to big sister…”
Glancing at Misaki’s face, I saw her lips move quietly.
I couldn’t make out what she muttered, but it seemed she had some thoughts after all.
I feel bad for Misaki, but—she probably can’t beat Sasagawa-sensei.
Sasagawa-sensei, who had been with her at the nursery for a long time, pampering her, had already become a significant presence for Kokoa.
And from now on, we’ll probably spend a lot of time together.
Currently, Misaki spends long hours at my house, so there’s plenty of time for Kokoa and her to be together, but—once summer vacation ends, that’ll be over too.
Moreover, Sasagawa-sensei, who has the maternal aura of an older sister, is impressive even to me, a high school student.
Even though Misaki is seen as an older sister figure to Kokoa, maternal care is probably more important to her.
I think it’s best not to compete. For Misaki’s sake.
“Misaki is Misaki, so don’t feel pressured. Kokoa admires you as her older sister.”
Seeing Misaki seeming determined, I gently stroked her head.
This seemed to relieve Misaki’s tension.
“This is why you’re sneaky, Raito-kun…”
However, whether my actions were unsatisfactory or not, Misaki averted her gaze from me.
Why would she say I’m sneaky…?
[Afterword]
Thank you for reading (*´▽`*)
Actually, I’m also publishing this on Kakuyomu.
It’s called “Regarding the Incident Where I Helped a Lost Young Girl and Then a Beautiful Exchange Student Living Next Door Started Coming Over to Play.”
But the 6th volume will be released on March 25th!
I’ve shared the cover illustration on my recent notes—it’s not only cute but also quite stimulating, so I’d be delighted if you could take a look♪
The web version and the book version have quite different developments.
Volumes 1 and 2 are full of original elements and new writing, while volumes 3-6 are almost entirely new writing.
So even if you’ve already read the web version, I think you’ll enjoy it♪
Also, in the 6th volume, there’s a part that might be difficult to write for the web version… so I hope you’ll take this opportunity to get your hands on it (≧◇≦)
Here’s the link to the recent note where I’ve shared the cover illustration…
