I became the boyfriend of the school's madonna, who had turned down numerous confessions, but somehow, without realizing it, I wasn't just playing a role anymore - Chapter 132
Episode 132: Reinforcements
“Eh? Sis, Hyouka-chan!? Why are you here!?”
Misaki stared at the two unexpected arrivals, her face filled with shock.
Their timing was almost too perfect.
Nine times out of ten, they were waiting for this, weren’t they?
As I considered this, I glanced over at Suzumine-san.
She, with a dazzlingly refreshing smile, says this.
“Knowing a fight was inevitable, do you really think I could just leave it alone?”
“……?”
Misaki, oblivious to the conversation between Suzumine-san and me, tilted her head in confusion.
To her, it must feel like, “How do you even know my boyfriend and my parents are talking at my house?”
Well, I hadn’t exactly told Suzumine-san about today either.
She must have figured I’d act as soon as she gave me the information.
Still, I kind of wish they’d come sooner—though, they were probably waiting to see if I could resolve this on my own, as long as it didn’t escalate into a major argument.
If they intervened prematurely, it might have just postponed the issue or worsened my standing with Misaki’s father.
“Senseeeii!!”
Suddenly, Kokoa hopped down from Misaki’s lap and dashed over to hug Sasagawa-sensei’s waist.
It was clear Kokoa was thrilled to see her beloved teacher, but Misaki looked annoyed.
She didn’t like her sister “stealing” Kokoa away.
I’d seen that expression before, so her feelings were easy to guess.
“There, there, Kokoa-chan. You did great.”
Sasagawa-sensei gently lifted Kokoa and began stroking her head with care.
“Ehehe…♪”
Kokoa let out a soft, happy giggle as her cheeks relaxed adorably, snuggling against Sasagawa-sensei’s chest.
She was indulging in affection as much as she pleased.
…But that earlier remark of hers…
“Misaki, Hyouka-chan, we’re in the middle of an important conversation right now, so…”
Perhaps Misaki’s father understood why they had shown up.
Sweating profusely, he subtly suggested they leave the room.
But Sasagawa-sensei—
“Father, I won’t forgive you for making Kokoa-chan cry…”
—continued stroking Kokoa’s head as she smiled sweetly.
However, veins bulged on her forehead like anger marks, and a dark aura seemed to radiate behind her.
It was clear her earlier words stemmed from knowing Kokoa had been crying.
I mean, considering Suzumine-san and Sasagawa-sensei came together, it’s safe to assume Sasagawa-sensei was at Suzumine-san’s house.
Given they live next door, it would have been impossible not to hear Kokoa crying.
After all, even the neighbors had peeked out to see what was happening.
Suffice it to say, things only got more awkward for Misaki’s father from that point onward.
[Afterword]
I’ve been discharged from the hospital!
I’ll be updating at a leisurely pace from now on!
