I became the boyfriend of the school's madonna, who had turned down numerous confessions, but somehow, without realizing it, I wasn't just playing a role anymore - Chapter 121
Chapter 121: A Complaint Call
“—You’re spoiling her too much.”
It happened one day after I had spent time playing with Misaki, as I often did.
Just as I returned home after dropping her off, Suzumine-san called me.
It seemed to be a complaint.
“Well, she’s my girlfriend, so of course I’m going to spoil her…?”
I didn’t understand why she was complaining.
—Though, to be honest, I had a rough idea of what she wanted to say, but I played dumb until she brought it up herself.
“Have you ever thought about how I feel having to listen to your love stories every day?”
Yep, just as I thought.
Apparently, Misaki had been telling Suzumine-san all about us after she got home.
She always looked so happy and excited, so I guess she couldn’t help but share it with her childhood friend.
Hearing it every now and then might be fine, but having to listen to it every day must be exhausting for Suzumine-san.
“Why don’t you tell her that directly?”
“I don’t want to make her sad.”
When I pointed out that I wasn’t the right person to complain to, she shot back immediately.
Misaki is surprisingly sensitive, so if Suzumine-san were to tell her not to talk about these things, she’d likely be heartbroken.
Still, it’s not like I can fix this situation for her.
“Just bear with it for now. She’s probably going through her happiest time.”
Until recently, Misaki had been afraid of relationships and avoided them.
This might be some sort of rebound effect.
She’ll calm down eventually.
“Isn’t it wrong for you to make me suffer just because you failed to teach her self-restraint?”
“—Wha!?”
S-She’s figured it out!?
“What do you mean…?”
“Your adorable girlfriend told me everything. She said that after begging you for a while, you finally gave in. And she described it in great detail, you know?”
“…In detail…?”
Wait, what’s this feeling?
I’m starting to sweat for some reason…
“You two really love kissing, don’t you?”
“I’ll make sure she never brings it up again.”
This time, I replied without hesitation.
I knew she was a bit overly happy, but I didn’t expect her to go into that much detail.
Even if she was talking to a childhood friend, she shared way too much.
“Do you understand what I’m trying to say?”
“Yeah… no one wants to hear that kind of stuff.”
At the very least, I don’t want to hear about anyone’s intimate love life.
Not that I have anyone to talk to about it with, anyway.
“Is it normal to talk about these things, even with childhood friends?”
“Depends on the person, I guess. But we do talk about it sometimes. Though this situation seems to be about more than just that.”
“Huh? What do you mean by ‘more than that’?”
“I think it’s a kind of… warning. Misaki may not realize it, though.”
