Chapter 28: The Cavalry’s Manoeuver
“Go forth, brave warriors of Zelos! Crush the enemies!”
And so… the war began.
It had been a month since the founding of the Kingdom of Arlengs, and this was their first war.
Right from the start, the Zelos cavalry charged across the plain.
The sound of three thousand horsemen was like a rumbling earthquake.
“The enemy is only a hundred strong! Crush them without giving them a chance to resist!”

Following the commander’s orders, the cavalry spurred their horses forward.
Holding lances like spears, they charged at the hundred-strong Arlengs army.

They cast spells to enhance their horses’ speed and stamina, pushing them beyond their natural limits.

By making all their soldiers mages, the Arlengs army achieved incredible speed.
This strategy would be impossible with thousands of soldiers.
“Our losses are increasing! Commander, give us orders!”
“Stay calm! The enemy is still small in number… the damage is minimal!”
However, knowing their secret made it possible to counter them.
No matter how powerful a mage is, they cannot use magic indefinitely.

The Zelos army had suffered losses, but only about one percent of their total force.
While not negligible, it wasn’t enough to cause their army to collapse.
“Don’t rush. Slowly but surely, corner them! Our victory is within reach!”
As if affirming the commander’s shout, the Arlengs army’s speed began to slow down.
It had been only half an hour since the battle started.
The outcome was still uncertain for both sides.
