Former Introvert Is Seduced by a Classmate.
August 3rd.
Today is one of the few school days during the summer vacation.
After a long while, I woke up and headed to Class 2-3.
The one thing that felt different today was that Hatsune-san wasn’t with me.
Apparently, she’s meeting her uncle’s family today.
To be honest, I don’t have a good impression of them.
If anything, they seem like people I should be cautious around.
I’ve told Hatsune-san to contact me immediately if anything happens, but for now, there’s nothing more I can do.
(It’s been a while since I’ve been alone at school…)
Since the first time we met on the rooftop, I’ve spent most of my time with Hatsune-san.
Wait a second.
What did I even do when I was alone at school?
Ah, that’s right.
I used to read books.
But I didn’t bring any books today.
Ever since I started spending time with Hatsune-san, I haven’t had the chance to read, and I’ve lost the habit of carrying books in my bag.
Now, I find myself completely at a loss for what to do.
Sitting at my desk, I glance at the empty seat beside me.
Well, today is a day for preparing for the cultural festival, so there will probably be something to do.
I was asked to go shopping.
The reason given was that I seemed strong.
In other words, I was made the designated porter.
Since I had nothing else to do, it wasn’t a big deal.
The destination was the usual place—the shopping mall in front of the station.
By the way, there’s another person tasked with shopping besides me.
It’s Shirogane-san, a tanned, gyaru-style girl from the Home Economics Club.
The Home Economics Club does things like sewing and cooking, so she seems like someone who could be helpful for the cosplay café for our class project.
She has a typical gyaru appearance, which is a bit of a contrast to her involvement in the Home Economics Club, but I don’t really know much about her personally.
Even though we’re in the same class, I’ve barely interacted with Shirogane-san.
She belongs to a different group of girls, distinct from Hatsune-san and the class president, so I’ve had even less of a chance to connect with her.
“Today we’re buying all the cosplay outfits at once, so they might be bulky. I’ll need you to carry the stuff,” Shirogane-san said while we were on our way to the shopping mall.
I was feeling a bit awkward, but then she spoke to me.
“Oh, I see. But doesn’t everyone have to choose their outfits?” I asked.
“Huh? Didn’t you check the class LINE?” she replied.
“What’s that?” I asked, confused.
“You know, we decided that people who don’t have any particular preference will just settle for cheap outfits from D○nki,” she explained, showing me her phone.
I couldn’t believe something like that actually existed…
“Wait, did you not join the class LINE?” she asked.
“Actually, I didn’t,” I admitted.
“Ah, that makes sense. You weren’t around when we created it.”
“I see,” I responded.
It was probably made when I had disappeared into another world during the spring.
“Wait, did they exclude you from it?” she asked.
“I’d like to think that’s not the case,” I replied.
I answered honestly to Shirogane-san’s blunt comment.
Before being excluded, we had simply never had the chance to interact.
“Hmm. I guess they just assumed everyone was in it and didn’t bother confirming,” she said, shrugging. “But whatever.”
“Yeah, I hope so…” I muttered.
“Anyway, I’ll add you. What’s your LINE?” she asked.
“Uh… alright,” I replied reluctantly, then pulled out my phone to exchange LINE contacts with her.
“Alright, I’ve added you. You’re in the class LINE now.”
“Thanks,” I said.
Despite being a bit intimidated by her appearance at first, she might actually be a kind person.
As I started to let my guard down, she said:
“Well, I’ve actually been curious about you too, so it was lucky I got your contact info,” she said with a grin.
“Curious about me?” I asked, surprised.
“Yeah. You know, the cool, lonely image of Ichigaya suddenly acting all lovey-dovey with you—I’m curious what’s up with that. Like, why is she so crazy about you?” she teased.
“Why… do you ask?” I replied, at a loss for words.
I guess people around us have really been seeing me and Hatsune-san that way after all.
“My guess is that you two are probably the ones who are amazing, but what do you think?”
“‘You two,’ what…?”
As I started to think a little about the meaning of the question, I noticed that Shirogane-san’s gaze was directed downward.
To suddenly ask something like that, I guess gyaru really are the type to be so straightforward…?
“Uh, no comment.”
“Well, I’m really interested, though.”
“Even if you say you’re interested, what should I do?”
“Why not try it once? We can say we’re late from shopping and then stop by karaoke or something.”
“Try it once…!?”
For some reason, Shirogane-san was inviting me.
“…I’m dating Hatsune-san, though.”
“Yeah, that’s exactly why I’m curious.”
“No, no. That’s not okay.”
“It’s fine as long as no one finds out, right? By the way, I’ve never done anything with a guy who knows I’m someone else’s boyfriend, but that kind of forbidden feeling… doesn’t it sound fun?”
Shirogane-san said this casually, making it hard to tell how serious she was.
“I’m not planning to do anything with anyone except Hatsune-san.”
“Oh, so you’ve done it with her, then?”
So, this is what people mean when they talk about ‘bitches’ or ‘predatory women.’
“That just makes me more curious, you know?”
As she said this, Shirogane-san suddenly tried to latch onto my arm.
I instinctively took a half step back and avoided her.
“I thought that if I just clung to a guy my age and pressed my chest against him, it would work most of the time… but you wouldn’t even let me do that? You’re really thorough, huh?”
“I’m just the loyal type.”
With the reflexes I’ve honed in another world, avoiding physical contact from others is easy.
Even when Hatsune-san sometimes tries to initiate physical contact out of the blue, honestly, I can avoid it all if I want to, so it’s never really a surprise attack.
The only reason I accept it is because it’s Hatsune-san.
“Hmm? I think it’s a waste to only deal with one person, but if you’re not interested, I guess there’s nothing to be done. Let’s just forget about this and go shopping.”
“Ah, yeah.”
I nodded, slightly taken aback by how easily Shirogane-san backed down.
To be so nonchalant after that exchange, she really is something else.
There are all kinds of people in this world…
After that, Shirogane-san and I finished our shopping without any further incidents.
On our way back to school, carrying bags filled with cosplay costumes, my phone rang.
I freed one hand and took it out.
“Yakumo-kun, I’ve got something I want to talk to you about. Can we meet today?”
It was a message from Hatsune-san.
