Chapter 13: The Order for Getting Treated

Somehow, I was able to cast Area Heal and healed all the injured people in this room. However, just like what I had heard earlier, only High Heal was able to restore severed limbs. The people with their limbs severed didn’t get their limbs restored to their original state.

After receiving words of gratitude from those I treated using Area Heal, I was resting in another room when suddenly, a loud voice could be heard in the treatment room next door. 

Curious, I entered the room together with Elmie and the others. There, I found an elderly women confronting a staff member of the Adventurers’ Guild. That elderly woman was pointing at a young cat beastkin with a big wound on the chest area. 

“…Is there any discrimination against beastkin in his kingdom?”

“There used to be discrimination against beastkin and other demi-human races like us, elves. However, there’s hardly any discrimination left now. All that’s remaining is the discrimination from old fool stuck in the past like her.”

…Whoa… Flora is fuming. I guess she might have experienced some discrimination in the past.

I needed to intervene. Hopefully, the elderly woman would be willing to listen to me. 

“Everyone, please calm down. I’m sorry, but from what I can see, it seems this child’s injuries are more severe than your husband.”

“Ye-Yes! The beastkin child here is in a more critical condition! That’s why we put your husband in the second slot after this beastkin child!”

Apparently the elderly woman’s husband was also severely injured. After all, the guild’s staff managed the order based on the severity of the patient’s injuries.

Moreover, I definitely wouldn’t change the order of treatment for money. I already told everyone that I would treat them based on the severity of their injuries. 

“To me, a beastkin’s life is just as valuable as a human’s life. I won’t change the order for treatment even if you pay me extra but… I promise, I will save your husband! Please trust me!”

“Uuu…. Healer-sama.. Please… Please help my husband!”

It seemed the elderly woman finally understood. She finally returned to the line. 

I need to make sure to heal both the beastkin child and the elderly woman’s husband.

“Amazing…The other healer wouldn’t treat a demi-human, no matter how much money you offered to him!”

“And he’s not going to prioritize someone just because of money! I heard the other healer always prioritizes the one who pays the most when he has multiple patients at once!”

It seemed the people around overheard my conversation with that elderly woman. While the Guild Master’s office was equipped with magic tools to prevent the voices inside from leaking outside, the treatment room here didn’t have magic tools like that. 

That being said, the reputation of the only healer in this area was horrendous. He wouldn’t treat demi-humans and he prioritized patients based on who paid more.
