- My Yandere Girlfriend Is Obsessed With Me For Some Reason
- Chapter 6 - Purpose in Life Part 2
“You’ve been looking at your phone the whole time, who are you contacting?”
“Huh? It’s my friend, Haruto.”
“Haruto-kun… Hey, when you’re with me… I’d rather you not look at your phone… But if it’s an important message…”
“Uh, sorry. It’s just a bit of a hassle so I’ll stop now.”
“Hehe, I see. Thanks.”
Actually, it’s the first time I’ve walked home with someone at this hour.
The path I usually walk while fiddling with my phone felt a bit different today. Maybe because Sensei is right beside me… But walking with Sensei in a suit still feels embarrassing. And this atmosphere… I don’t know what to do.
Conversation lapsed, and the two of us walked silently.
The distance felt like our hands could touch, and I was a bit nervous.
“Oh, Kanzaki-san, thanks for today’s bento. It was really delicious.”
“I’m glad you liked it. I was worried about you, Ik-kun, so I woke up early and made yours first.”
“T-There was no need for that… Um! Your cooking was really delicious, Kanzaki-san, but you don’t have to make bentos anymore. I’ll manage on my own.”
“Lies. And even though I want to make them for you… Is it not okay?”
“But… If you make bento, then you’ll have to spend money on mine too. That bothers me…”
“It’s not good to talk outside, let’s go to my place first.”
“Y-Yes…”
Normally, I don’t think people would spend their own money to make someone else’s bento, but for some reason, Sensei is trying to do it for me. I don’t understand. Since we promised to have dinner together, I reluctantly ended up at Sensei’s house.
But I think I said “occasionally”…
And then, Sensei’s house looks all cleaned up with all of her belongings put away.
It feels like a girl’s room. Cute stuffed animals, wall decorations, even flashy pink curtains… Depending on the person, a room like that can change so much. When I first moved in, my house wasn’t much different from this.
Actually, there’s something more noticeable than that…
“…………”
Sensei, there are two pillows.
Why are there two when she lives alone?
“What? Is it strange that there are two pillows?”
“E-Esper?! How did you know that?”
“Because you were staring at the bed…”
“Huh?”
“I… I’m a bit lonely. I get anxious if I don’t hold onto something when I sleep, so I use that pillow for those times.”
“I see…”
“Having a person is better than a pillow… but I broke up with my boyfriend.”
“I-I see…”
So… she was sleeping while hugging her boyfriend until now. How cute.
I’m even more confused now about why she was dumped.
While Sensei is cooking dinner in the kitchen, I was still absentmindedly lying on Sensei’s bed like yesterday. It smells good. I told her I was sorry for not being able to buy anything and make something delicious, but… I was more than satisfied just eating warm food, so I was touched by her thoughtfulness.
I never thought of such luxury from the beginning.
I just wanted to cherish this time spent with Sensei.
But that all ends today.
“T-Thank you for the meal.”
“I still like having dinner with you, Ik-kun.”
“Um, about that… there’s something I want to talk about.”
“You know, could you listen to my story first?”
“Yes…”
“I know you probably already know, but I was dumped by my boyfriend. I loved him, but he found me annoying. So even when I was at home, he would stay at hotels with other women… I’ve been lonely all by myself.”
“You dated a bad person.”
“At that time, Ik-kun appeared before me. When I was handed a handkerchief, my vision was blurred with tears, but the voice was Ik-kun’s… I was saved. By Ik-kun…! So, I just want to be with Ik-kun, who is kind to me. That’s all. Money, don’t worry about it! I’ll just cook for Ik-kun, so it’s totally fine!”
Sensei, gradually raising her voice, seemed a bit shaken.
But I just handed her a handkerchief because she looked pitiful, and yet, it led to this…? In other words… The lonely Sensei chose me to fill her empty heart. What should I say in this situation?
And when Sensei talks like this, she immediately looks like she’s about to cry, her heart becoming weaker.
“Holding hands… isn’t that something lovers do?”
“Oh… I-Is that so? I, uh, have zero experience with love, so I don’t really understand.”
Like lovers?
“Well, in my thoughts… I actually just want to be with you. Because I’m lonely alone… I don’t want that.”
“Kanzaki-san…”
“Yesterday… before leaving the house, you remember holding my hand, right?”
“Y-Yes…”
“Why did you hold my hand?”
“Kanzaki-san seemed anxious… And… It’s something my mom used to do to comfort me.”
“I see. Then, would you do it again…? Holding my hand, I… I like that. It feels like someone is protecting me, and it feels really good. I want someone to support me when I feel like I’m falling apart. I’m sorry for being selfish.”
Sensei thinking like this seemed pitiful.
Because I also understand the loneliness when you’re alone, I couldn’t say anything more about the bento. I’m used to that loneliness, but it’s not because I like it. Whenever I see someone feeling the same loneliness as me, I immediately feel uncomfortable.
So, I nodded in front of Sensei.
“If… anything happens, please ring the bell at my place.”
“Hey, isn’t it better to directly contact each other…?”
“…………”
“Please tell me your contact… information.”
“Then, I’ll tell you… When you feel lonely, please ring my bell or send a message.”
“Is it okay? Are you sure?”
“Yes…”
At that moment, a message came from Haruto.
He quickly… asked about Sensei’s hobbies and preferences… Seriously? He hasn’t given up yet.
And then, Sensei found out about it.
“Oh. So, Yuuki-kun likes me.”
“That’s right. Since Kanzaki-san came, he’s been talking about Kanzaki-san all the time, and I’m tired of it…”
“Hey, do you want to know? My hobbies and preferences.”
“He’s just saying whatever he wants, so you don’t have to worry about it. I’ll just give a vague answer.”
“I’m talking to Ik-kun, you know? I don’t care about Yuuki-kun.”
Ah, too bad. Looks like you’re out of luck, Haruto.
“Don’t rush… We, we can take it slow…”
“Yeah, you’re right? We still have time.”
“Yes…”
Sitting beside her, I sent a message to Haruto saying, “Nothing in particular.”
Sorry, Haruto.
This is for both of us, so please understand.
“I like this time together…”
“Yes…”
