Chapter 55 – Small Talk [Millia’s POV]
As Millia-san hugged me, her extremely eye-catching breasts pressed against my stomach, giving me a pleasant sensation.
“It’s been a while, Salt-san.”
Millia-san is famous for being the most beautiful receptionist in the Capital.
I was also taken care of by her when I was in the Capital, but why is Millia-san here?
“Millia-san, why are you here?”
“It’s obvious because I missed Salt-san, isn’t it?”
“Eh?”
“Fufu, just kidding.”
“Kidding?”
She said, and gently let go of my body.
I was sad to see the twin mountains leave. Then, Ruri stepped in between me and Millia-san. Ao also stood in front of me.
“Please don’t touch our Master so casually.”
“That’s right! Only Ao can suddenly hug Master.”
Actually Ao, you should stop doing that too. It startles me.
“Muuu! Salt-san, you’ve found new comrades again?! I heard from Towa that it was only the Fourth Knights!”
I wanted to enjoy this reunion, but first, I needed to clear up the misunderstanding with Ruri and Ao.
“Calm down, you two. This person is Millia-san, she works at the Capital’s Adventurer’s Guild’s reception desk. She’s really helped me a lot.”
“I understand that you know her, but isn’t she being a bit too familiar for someone you haven’t seen in a while?”
I guess Ruri is angry because she wants to protect me.
“I’m sorry. Salt-san, my sister Millia has caused you trouble! Millia-neesan, didn’t I ask you not to act on your own?!”
“Mou~, you’re so noisy, Towa.”
Towa-san is an intelligent beauty with glasses and reddish brown hair tied up in a bun, so she has a different vibe from Millia-san, but their appearance certainly seems similar.
They’re both beautiful, and both have magnificent twin mountains.
“I told you not to cause any trouble for Salt-san!”
“I’m not causing any trouble! Right, Salt-san~?”
“Huh?! Well, it wasn’t exactly unwelcome.”
I remember the feeling of her breasts touching my stomach.
“See, Salt-san isn’t unhappy at all.”
“That’s not the point. More importantly, I also apologize to Salt-san’s companions. My sister caused you trouble.”
“We were also a little too proactive.”
Ruri seemed to have calmed down after Towa-san’s arrival.
I could now properly report on my work and introduce Ruri and Ao.
“First, I’d like to give a report on my work. Is that alright?”
“Certainly. Since you’ve already reported in Daut city and your adventurer registration is complete, we’ll just handle the purchase of the monsters you’ve defeated upon your return.”
Towa-san handled the reception duties efficiently, and I waited as the monsters were processed.
“Just like before, please distribute the rewards to Krish-san and Mei as well.”
“Understood.”
While I was getting Towa-san to take care of things, Millia-san was talking to Ruri and Ao.
I wonder what they are talking about.
♢
[Millia’s POV]
While Salt-san was talking to Towa, I spoke to the other two, who had taken off their hoods to expose their beast-like ears.
These two women looked very beautiful and would have drawn attention in the Adventurer’s Guild, so I had them put their hoods back up and moved to an area where we could eat and drink while talking.
“Once again, please allow me to introduce myself. I work at the Capital’s Adventurer’s Guild’s reception desk. My name is Millia.”
“Thank you for the introduction. I apologize for our earlier behavior.”
“No, not at all. I was just so excited to meet Salt-san. I really showed you an embarrassing side of myself.”
“We understand that feeling well. I’m Ruri, a wolf beastman, currently in a master-slave relationship with Master. This is my daughter, Ao.”
“Ao is Ao!”
When the two greeted me, I was surprised to hear the word master-slave relationship. While such magical bonds do exist, they are usually viewed quite badly due to their associations with enslavement.
I didn’t think Salt-san was the kind of person who would do something that would make people dislike him.
“You may find this surprising, but it was us who wanted a master-servant relationship.”
“I-I see!”
But if it’s something the woman wanted, Salt-san might’ve accepted it.
There seems to be a deeper reason for this, but I can’t ask her any more. After all, Salt-san always seemed to be the kind of person who would always end up with trouble.
“Salt-san is the same as always.”
“Same as always?”
“Shall I tell you a little bit about his past?”
“Please do!”
“Ao wants to hear too!”
While working as a receptionist in the Capital, I have come into contact with many adventurers.
Many adventurers have strong personalities. They’re mostly rough, and they don’t follow etiquette or rules.
Among them, one man caught my eyes.
That was Salt-san.
It was about five years ago that he first came to the Capital’s Adventurer’s Guild.
He had been living an ordinary life in his village, but after a monster attack, he became an adventurer to protect two women.
At first, he was an inexperienced young man, but with his earnest attitude, he steadily gained strength.
He also had the special gift of the Holy attribute.
He earned money daily with healing magic, and he had a polite demeanor and gentlemanly manner.
Every one of his actions attracted others and made them his allies.
The girls he protected were able to remain safe only because of his presence.
In fact, those two girls were talented, but since they were the girls Salt-san was protecting, a lot of adventurers seemed to recognize them as people who needed to be protected.
Then, an incident occurred where Salt-san became known as the “Holy Light”.
