Aoi lied on the hospital treatment room bed, receiving a blood transfusion.
The pack contains red liquid, slowly entering Aoi’s body through a thin catheter. He had lost more blood than he realized, but fortunately, he managed to get a prompt examination.
“Well, it’s inevitable when you couldn’t even stand up.”
Runa, sitting next to him, gently held his hand. Although Aoi honestly explained the reason for his anemia, the doctor was taken aback.
However, the blood test results weren’t favorable, and a transfusion became necessary. Despite being a facility with inpatient services, this hospital accepts patients without reservations, and the results of simple tests are quickly available.
Since it was a temporary anemia due to nosebleeds, once the transfusion is done, he can go home. The doctor, seemingly understanding they are step-siblings from their appearance, advised them to keep from flirting.
“I’m bored.”
While it’s his first time getting a blood transfusion, there’s nothing to do. Even though there’s a curtain dividing the space, they couldn’t afford to be affectionate in the hospital.
Even if a doctor or nurse comes in, as long as they limit their interaction to holding hands, they can pass off as being close siblings. But if they were to hug, they’d likely get scolded for “What are you doing when you’re not feeling well?” by the hospital staff.
Besides, in this situation, holding hands signifies the level of concern a sister has for her brother.
“Please rest quietly; patients need to stay calm.”
Aoi was looked at by beautiful yet concerned eyes. Since it’s rare for her brother to be unwell, she seems worried even though he’s trying to stay calm.
Though he’d like to hug the adorable Runa, it was not possible in the hospital.
“How are you feeling?”
After about ten minutes since the blood transfusion started, a female nurse with long black hair tied into a bun at the back of her head, appearing to be in her mid-twenties, opened the curtain to check on them.
“No issues.”
Aoi explained his condition within the first ten minutes of starting the blood transfusion. The nurse nodded and adjusted the speed of the transfusion.
If there were no side effects, she mentioned that they will speed up the transfusion in about twenty minutes.
“It should be done in another twenty minutes or so; please call if you need anything.”
“Understood.”
With that, the nurse closed the curtain and left. The use of mobile phones is prohibited in the treatment room, so, for now, the only thing Aoi could do is talk to Runa.
“That nurse was beautiful, wasn’t she?”
“Yeah… Runa?”
The grip tightened, and as he looked at Runa’s face, he noticed a slight, just a tiny bit, fading of light from her usually red eyes. Moreover, her voice was slightly lower and heavier than usual.
“I’m a brocon… So, if Nii-san gets along with other women, I get jealous.”
“Well, this is unavoidable, isn’t it?”
“The nurse is just doing her job, and I don’t think she wants to get close to me.”
It was merely a question about the blood transfusion, not an indication of any friendly interaction.
“Hmm…”
Seemingly a matter of emotional concern, the jealous Runa pouted. Indeed, Aoi couldn’t strongly argue against it because he, too, wouldn’t want Runa to be close to other people of the opposite sex.
“I’ll make it so that Nii-san only sees me.”
“What do you mean by that…”
“Nn…chuuuu~”
At the same time as being kissed on the neck, Aoi was overwhelmed by a sensation as if being strongly sucked.
Surely this was to mark her big brother as her own with a hickey. It felt like a vampire sucking blood, but since Aoi himself has given a hickey to Runa, having one in return was not a problem.
“Ehehe. I gave Nii-san a hickey.”
“Bushaaa!”
Due to the hickey from Runa, which brought a smile to her face, Aoi, despite having just received a blood transfusion, had another nosebleed from the overwhelming joy.
The nurse came in immediately, expressing exasperation, and it was needless to say that the amount of blood transfusion had to be increased.
