“It’s after the rain, and the night is still a bit chilly.”

“Yeah.”

About an hour after dinner, Aoi and Runa went for a walk. Since the rain had stopped in the evening, they could walk as long as they avoided puddles. 

Due to Runa’s constitution, prolonged daytime outdoor activities were challenging, so to avoid physical inactivity, they made it a routine to take a short walk together after sunset on days when ultraviolet rays weren’t a concern.

Today’s walk was after the rain, so both of them put on jackets and headed outside. Though they really wanted to hold hands, they refrained since walking was a form of light exercise. With the rainy season approaching, soon they wouldn’t be able to go for night walks.

“Runa, you’re the most beautiful.”

Moonlight shining through the gaps in the clouds illuminated Runa, and her silver hair looked particularly enchanting. 

No one would doubt if someone said she had come from another dimension. 

However, precisely because she was so beautiful, Runa didn’t have anyone she could call a friend. Just like not touching expensive jewels with bare hands, nobody approached her.

“I don’t feel happy being told that a lot.”

Although she pouted and averted her gaze, Runa seemed pleased with the moonlit glow on her face. Despite saying “a lot,” there was probably only Aoi who found her beautiful. 

If, by any chance, there were other men trying to get close to her, Aoi felt the need to eliminate them, to make them deeply regret trying to approach Runa.

“Nii-san, your expression looks scary.”

“Oops, it seems like it showed on my face. I was thinking about how to cook the guys who might get close to you.”

“No one gets close to me. Besides… as long as Nii-san is here, that’s enough.”

Blushing and speaking in a soft voice, Runa gently held Aoi’s hand. Runa’s hand was warm, and Aoi intertwined his fingers, seeking more closeness.

Despite blushing and sounding embarrassed, Runa’s happy “ehehe” indicated that intertwining their fingers was the right choice. It was the first time they held hands during a night walk, but it seemed like this would become a regular occurrence.

“By the way, how’s the pain?”

Her red eyes looked towards his right wrist, which was wrapped in bandages.

This time, it was mostly Runa’s fault, so she was probably worried about his sprained right wrist.

“It’s not a problem since Runa took care of it.”

Actually, the pain had subsided more than before, and it seemed to be healing faster than the previous sprain.

“If the pain gets worse, let me know. I’ll help you again.”

“Yeah. I appreciate it.”

Smiling warmly, Runa responded with a smile as well. She was already cute, but her smile in the moonlight made her look even more adorable, several times more than usual. 

If they weren’t siblings, it wouldn’t be strange to fall in love with her. Knowing they first met as siblings, Aoi understood he shouldn’t fall for her. Nevertheless, Runa was undoubtedly more beautiful and delicate than anyone else.

“Well then, shall we continue our walk?”

“Yes.”

Not wanting to let go, they continued their walk hand in hand.
