Upon arriving at the classroom, Aoi let out a loud sigh. The time spent at school meant he couldn’t be with Runa, making it inevitably dull.
Seated at his desk, Aoi killed time by fiddling with his smartphone. He would love to send a message to his beloved Runa right away, but she had explicitly told him not to. His overprotective nature was becoming exasperating. Most of his concerns revolved around whether Runa was exposed to sunlight or not.
“Why do you sigh every time you enter the classroom, Aoi?”
Approaching with an expression of disbelief, Keisuke Satsuki, or rather, Keisuke, Aoi’s close—or rather, troublesome—friend, came over. They had been hanging out for about ten years, making Keisuke his closest friend after Runa.
Keisuke, who seemed to have awakened to fashion since becoming a high school student, had bleached his hair to a chestnut color. Despite his fashionable appearance, he was fundamentally serious. Additionally, he stood out as quite the handsome guy, possibly the most popular among boys in the school. However, as he had a prearranged fiancée since birth, he turned down all confessions.
“Because Runa isn’t here. It’s so boring…”
Aoi’s mood seemed so forlorn that he might burst into tears any moment. Aoi constantly thought about Runa, to the extent that tears would well up if they were not together.
“Aoi, you’re seriously being consumed by your sister, huh?”
“No way. Runa would never do anything indecent. She has this mysterious, indescribable charm…”
“Y-yeah…”
Keisuke answered, slightly distancing himself. Aoi’s eyes were bloodshot, and he seemed on the verge of tears.
“Seriously, Aoi, are you targeting Runa despite having a fiancée? Unforgivable.”
Growling, Aoi made a threatening gesture, but it was more of a bluff. What he really wanted to do was to attack right away—not like in BL, but to prevent Keisuke from getting close to Runa. Aoi had a slightly delicate figure with cute, lively eyes, and his appearance was somewhat adorable. If he got close to Keisuke, certain girls would undoubtedly show keen interest.
“No, it’s not like that.”
Using both hands, Keisuke denied vehemently. Given his lovey-dovey relationship with his fiancée, Keisuke would never make a move on Runa.
“Huh? Are you saying Runa has no charm?”
“Ugh, what a pain in the neck.”
Seemingly fed up, Keisuke, with a disdainful expression, distanced himself and left.

“Ruuunaaa”
During lunch break, Aoi arrived in front of the door leading to the rooftop, where he and Runa had promised to have lunch together. He attempted to hug her as she came with her bag, but she skillfully avoided it. As usual, she wouldn’t let him embrace her outside of home. It would be better to appreciate the fact that they could share lunchtime together.
“Ouch…”
Since his attempt was evaded, Aoi struck his hand against the floor and twisted it. Though it wasn’t visibly red, it might be challenging to hold chopsticks. He held his aching right wrist and sat on the floor.
“Are you okay?”
“I’m fine.”
As a devoted brother, he couldn’t let his sister worry about him. Aoi kept a calm expression.
“Let me see it for a moment.”
“Eek…”
The moment Runa touched his right wrist, a sharp pain surged through him, making it clear that it wouldn’t recover during the lunch break.
“We should go to the infirmary.”
“No way.”
“Why not?”
“I don’t want to lose our happy lunchtime, Runa.”
He didn’t want to sacrifice the only time they could spend together during school – the precious lunch break. Aoi resisted, determined not to let a sprained wrist take away the time with his beloved sister.
“Sigh… I guess there’s no helping it.”
Exasperated, Runa sighed and handed him a bottle of tea she had taken from her bag.
“I just bought it, so it’s still cold. Use this to cool it down.”
Sensing that she meant for him to cool down his wrist with the bottle, Aoi expressed his gratitude and placed it on his aching wrist.
“While most of the blame for the sprain lies with you, there’s a tiny bit that’s my fault… So, um… today, I’ll… feed you.”
“An angel has descended.”
Once again, a shock ran through Aoi’s body, rendering him unable to hold the bottle. Additionally, the way she said it, looking up at him, was incredibly effective on Aoi, the siscon brother.
“I won’t do it if you say anything weird, okay? But… being praised by you, Nii-san, doesn’t feel bad.”
“I wouldn’t say anything weird. Even though I’m aware of being a siscon, my actions might not reflect that awareness.”
“Heh, you’re a siscon but unaware of it when it comes to your behavior.”
Sighing deeply, Runa, with a slightly blushing face, took out a lunchbox from her bag.
She usually brought Aoi’s share of the lunch, simply because she wanted to eat together.
Runa was shy and didn’t want excessive interaction outside, so she preferred to keep their brother-sister relationship private. However, since she had to receive the lunchbox at home, she found a secluded spot to eat together, settling on the area in front of the rooftop.
“Say ahh~”
It seemed like Runa had the remaining part of her lunch for breakfast, and she brought a sandwich to Aoi’s mouth. With cheeks blushing to the extreme, Runa looked incredibly cute as she happily fed Aoi the sandwich.
Although he could eat the sandwich with his left hand, Aoi didn’t say anything since it seemed she hadn’t noticed. There was also the possibility that she wanted him to say “ah” because she wanted his wrist to be cooled down.
“It’s so delicious!”
“You’re exaggerating. It’s not any different from the morning, right?”
“Thanks to Runa feeding me, it has multiplied in deliciousness due to the synergistic effect.”
“Please don’t say weird things.”
Today’s lunch felt happier and more delicious than usual.
