How to Handle a Yandere Harem - Chapter 20
The 【Demon Queen】 arrived in Tokyo about 30 minutes after Elizabeth did. She was painfully aware that those precious minutes could make all the difference, so she got to work immediately, setting her plan in motion to ensure Elizabeth wouldn’t get any useful information that day.
But before diving in, she needed to consider a few key points:
First: She couldn’t afford to make direct contact with Elizabeth. Under no circumstances could they be face-to-face. That’s why she set a strict safety distance of 100 meters. As she moved through the city, she would continue to keep an eye out for a quick escape route. If Elizabeth caught her, a direct confrontation would be nothing short of a death sentence.
Second: To keep tabs on Elizabeth without exposing herself, she needed an information network. She had to know Elizabeth’s every move and always stay one step ahead, strategically positioning herself to avoid detection.
Third: The disinformation campaign had to be short-lived. If Elizabeth suspected that someone was meddling in her affairs, she’d go all out to eliminate the interference, assuming that the person knew the whereabouts of Akuma’s ex-girlfriend.
Fourth: She needed at least one clue about Akuma’s ex-girlfriend herself. If she had even a scrap of information, she could improvise and adapt her plan if things went south and Elizabeth discovered her presence.
Fifth: And perhaps most importantly, if all else failed, she needed an escape plan. A distraction, to be more precise — someone who despised Elizabeth enough to engage her in a fight while the 【Demon Queen】 made her getaway. Handing over Emma was off the table, that would be like jumping from the frying pan into the fire.
With these steps in mind, the 【Demon Queen】 began to orchestrate her strategy, knowing she had to be flawless in her execution. One misstep could mean disaster, and she wasn’t about to let that happen.
Now, all she needed was a bit of luck and a lot of cunning to ensure Elizabeth’s mission would be far from smooth.
The 【Demon Queen】 moved with the precision of a seasoned predator, her every step calculated to maintain the upper hand. She’d already picked up Elizabeth’s trail, watching from a distance as the girl entered a small, discreet café in one of Tokyo’s winding alleys. From her vantage point, about 120 meters away, she could see the café’s entrance clearly, but she remained hidden in the shadows, just another face in the crowd.
She checked her surroundings, ensuring that she had multiple escape routes. The city’s intricate network of alleys and side streets provided plenty of options, and she mentally mapped them out. A small, dimly lit convenience store sat at the end of the alley, its door slightly ajar — a perfect place to slip into if things went south. She noted a narrow staircase leading to a rooftop on the other side, just in case she needed to disappear vertically. Her mind was a whirl of contingencies, each one designed to keep her well out of Elizabeth’s reach.
Satisfied with her preparations, the 【Demon Queen】 began to move. She adjusted the black hood of her coat, pulling it lower to obscure her face, and slipped her hands into her pockets, fingers brushing against the cool metal of the smartphone she kept there. The streets were busy, with people rushing about their daily lives, but none of them paid her any mind. She was a ghost in the crowd, unseen and unnoticed.
She crossed the street, moving casually, her eyes never leaving the entrance of the café. Elizabeth was still inside, which was good — it gave her time to reach her next position. As she reached the opposite sidewalk, she glanced over her shoulder, checking for any signs that Elizabeth might have spotted her. Nothing. The coast was clear.
She ducked into a narrow alley that branched off from the main street, her steps quickening as she put more distance between herself and the café. The alley was cluttered with discarded boxes and the occasional stray cat, but it provided excellent coverage. She could hear the faint hum of a vending machine nearby, its neon glow casting a faint blue light on the ground. She passed by without stopping, her destination set on a small, nondescript building at the end of the alley.
This building was one of her safe houses in Tokyo — a place she could retreat to if things got too hot. The entrance was hidden behind a rusted metal door that looked like it hadn’t been opened in years, but with a quick tap on a seemingly random brick, a hidden mechanism clicked, and the door swung open silently. She slipped inside, closing the door behind her and locking it with a digital code.
Inside, the space was sparsely furnished but equipped with everything she needed. A simple cot was pushed against one wall, a desk with multiple monitors on another. The room was dark, lit only by the faint glow of the screens. She moved to the desk and set up her laptop, pulling up the live feed from a series of street cameras she’d hacked into earlier. One of the screens showed the café entrance, with Elizabeth still seated inside, oblivious to the surveillance.
Now that she was secure, it was time to execute the third step of her plan: the disinformation campaign. She only had a day to make it work, so every minute counted.
The 【Demon Queen】 began typing furiously, her fingers flying over the keyboard as she accessed her network of contacts across the city. She crafted a series of false reports, each one carefully designed to mislead and confuse. Some hinted at a mysterious figure seen in the company of Akuma’s ex-girlfriend, others spoke of sightings in completely different parts of the city. The information was deliberately contradictory, designed to spread like wildfire among the local informants, each piece feeding off the others to create a web of lies.
She sent the messages out, routing them through various encrypted channels to ensure they couldn’t be traced back to her. Within minutes, the first replies started coming in — her network was working as intended. She leaned back in her chair, watching as the misinformation spread through the city like a virus. It was only a matter of time before Elizabeth would hear one of these rumors, sending her on a wild goose chase.
But even with the disinformation network in play, the 【Demon Queen】 knew she couldn’t rest easy. Elizabeth was still in the café, and that meant she had to stay vigilant. If Elizabeth became suspicious or agitated, it would mean the campaign was too obvious, and she would need to fall back to the first step: escape.
She picked up her smartphone and checked Elizabeth’s location again through the street camera feed. The girl was still sitting at her table, a cup of tea in front of her, seemingly lost in thought. No signs of agitation, no sudden movements. It was a good sign, but the 【Demon Queen】 knew better than to let her guard down.
“She’s still in the café…” she muttered to herself, breathing a small sigh of relief.
Her gaze shifted back to her smartphone, her mind already planning her next move. As long as Elizabeth remained unaware, the day’s plan would proceed smoothly. And if things went wrong, well, she always had an escape route ready.
