How to Handle a Yandere Harem - Chapter 18
The jury room had emptied, leaving Emma alone with her thoughts. The imposing wooden panels and the dim, golden light from the chandeliers only served to amplify the storm brewing within her. She drummed her fingers on the grand, ornately carved throne she had sat in during the trial, her red eyes aglow with frustration.
“That punishment was far too lenient, Elizabeth deserved so much more after what she did to Adriel,” she muttered to herself, her voice echoing softly in the empty chamber.
Emma’s mind raced back to the scene in the courtroom. She could still see Elizabeth, slumped in her seat, her face a mixture of remorse and fear. But Emma couldn’t shake the image of Adriel — innocent, gentle Adriel — bearing the brunt of Elizabeth’s uncontrollable jealousy. The thought made her blood come to a boiling point.
(How could Seda be so soft on her? Just because Elizabeth showed a bit of regret, she gets off with a simple task? Unbelievable.)
Emma clenched her fists, her nails digging into her palms as she tried to suppress the waves of anger rising within her.
She stood up abruptly, the heavy robes swishing around her ankles as she began to pace the room, her thoughts churning. The crimson drapes fluttered slightly as if echoing her agitation. Emma was known for her fiery temper, but this felt different. It wasn’t just anger — it was a deep, gnawing sense of injustice.
(I have to do something. Elizabeth needs to truly understand the consequences of her actions.)
Emma’s mind whirled with possibilities, her strategic side coming to the forefront. She knew she had to be careful. Seda was not someone to be trifled with, and she had already made her decision. But that didn’t mean Emma couldn’t find a way to make Elizabeth’s task a little more… challenging.
(I’ll make sure she doesn’t finish these tasks as quickly as she believes she could. If Elizabeth thinks she can just breeze through this and come back to Adriel as if nothing happened, she’s sorely mistaken.)
Emma moved to the tall windows, her silhouette framed against the dusky sky outside.
She gazed out at the horizon, her mind already plotting. She knew she had to be discreet, to work behind the scenes so that Seda wouldn’t suspect anything
After reaching an agreement to share Adriel, the girls decided to hold a battle to determine who would be the leader. But, in truth, Elizabeth and Emma had no intention of sharing. The battle was just an excuse for them to start overpowering the others, each secretly planning to eliminate the competition and claim Adriel for themselves.
Their plan was simple: if either Elizabeth or Emma won, they’d get rid of the other two within a year, securing Adriel all to themselves. However, things didn’t go as they had hoped. The battle didn’t end in their favor. Instead, Seda outmaneuvered both Elizabeth and Emma, overpowering them with ease. With that, Seda became the leader, and all decisions were passed onto her.
Seda’s victory meant she held all the power. If Emma was caught plotting against Elizabeth or making any moves without Seda’s approval, Seda had the authority to step in and put a swift end to it.
But Emma had always been good at that — manipulating situations to her advantage without anyone realizing it.
(First, I’ll need to find out where Akuma’s ex-girlfriend is. I’ve got a few contacts who can help with that. And then… Well, let’s just say Elizabeth’s little journey won’t be as smooth as she originally hoped.)
Emma pulled out her smartphone, her eyes immediately drawn to the wallpaper — Adriel, grinning brightly as if he had no idea he was the absolute center of her digital universe. His face was everywhere: on her lock screen, her chat app background, and even her profile picture on every social network. If it could be customized, it had Adriel’s face plastered all over it.
But the rest of her contact list? A barren wasteland. She had numbers saved, sure, but no names. Even Seda and Elizabeth were just numbers she begrudgingly stored as if admitting their existence on her phone was some great inconvenience. In her perfect world, her phone would be entirely Adriel’s domain, with nothing to interrupt his pixelated reign.
However, as much as she despised cluttering her phone with anything that wasn’t Adriel, Emma was nothing if not resourceful. She knew the numbers she needed by heart — a skill she had painstakingly honed just for moments like this. After scrolling for what felt like the briefest second, she landed on a contact simply named 【Demon Queen】.
The name was cliche, sure, but effective. The 【Demon Queen】 was an assassin with a reputation, someone who could delay Elizabeth’s mission just enough to make her realize that lenient punishment wasn’t a walk in the park.
But Emma knew better than to directly use her smartphone. Seda was sharp, and any sudden activity on her phone could raise suspicions. Emma needed a more subtle approach, something that wouldn’t leave any traceable breadcrumbs back to her.
A plan formed in her mind, a mischievous grin creeping onto her face. She quickly slipped her phone back into her pocket and instead went to the dormitory’s communal area. The old payphone in the corner, practically an antique, was her target. No one ever used it anymore, most people probably forgot it even existed.
Perfect!
Emma fished a few coins from her pocket and slipped them into the payphone, dialing the 【Demon Queen】 number. The phone rang twice before a voice, as cold as ice, answered.
“Who is this?”
“An admirer, I need a favor, and you’re the only one I trust to pull it off.”
There was a pause on the other end, then a slight chuckle.
“What’s the job?”
“Delay Elizabeth. Keep her occupied long enough for her to really feel the sting of her punishment. But don’t leave any traces. I’m sure you’re up to the challenge.”
The 【Demon Queen】’s laugh was soft but sinister.
“Consider it done.”
Emma hung up the phone, a satisfied smirk on her face. As she turned to leave, she casually glanced around — no one had noticed her. It was just another day, and no one suspected a thing.
She returned to her room, her mind already moving on to the next part of her plan. Elizabeth thought she’d get back to Adriel quickly, but Emma had just ensured that her journey would be far from smooth.
(Good luck, Liz. You’re going to need it.)
