Booooooooooom.
“Norisa, why did you do it? You know Liz-san’s gonna flip out! She’ll wreck us all!”
“I know… Of course, I know… But you were being so cocky…” Norisa muttered, his voice trembling as if he were on the verge of breaking down.
He glanced around, desperately searching for a way out.
But there was none.
“Both of you, calm down. We’re under the sea. The pressure outside is immense — enough to crush anything that tries to break through. Even someone as strong as Liz-san can’t force her way in here. It’s not just the water – the sheer pressure is like an unbreakable barrier. Trust me, it’s physically impossible for anyone to get in, no matter how strong they are,” Esther interrupted, her voice keeping steady as she tried to calm us down.
“Esther, you don’t get it… You don’t know my Liz-san. She’s hella strong… I bet she could break through it with her bare hands.” My voice wavered with a mix of fear and awe.
“She’s ranked SSS. I’ve already mentioned it a hundred times to Norisa, but damn, she’s crazy strong. When she goes berserk, she doesn’t hold back… Well, she doesn’t hold back much anyway, but in berserk-mode, she’s got no limits. No mercy at all.”
Esther let out a sigh, trying to keep her cool. “As I said, it’s impossible for her to get in here. So just relax. The guy who bought you will be here soon…”
Brrr-brrr! Brrr-brrr!
A voice crackled through the speaker.
[We’re unable to use any teleportation. Probably one of Adriel’s three girlfriends found out about the transaction. We’re pulling out.]
“Damnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn! We’re leaving!” I shouted, my heart racing as panic eventually set in.
I watched as Esther immediately started casting teleportation magic, her hands moving deliberately. A soft glow began to form around her, but then, just as quickly, it fizzled out. She tried again, more forcefully this time, but the result was the same — absolutely nothing. Her frustration was palpable as she attempted a third time, her movements becoming more and more erratic. When the magic failed again, she let out a scream that echoed throughout the room, her frustration turning into full-blown despair.

“Calm down… We need to calm down…” I said, trying to keep my voice steady, though the tension was gnawing at me. “Teleportation is definitely out of the question now, so we need to think of another way…”
I turned to Esther, who was still visibly shaken. “Esther, didn’t you have a backup plan in case the teleportation didn’t work?”
She nodded, but her voice wavered as she spoke. “We do… but it’s really complicated. Probably we… WE DON’T HAVE TIME… CALM DOWN, ESTHER! THE MONSTER WILL GO AWAY… JUST WAIT!” Her voice cracked, panic creeping into her words. I could tell she was on the verge of losing it.
Damn, she’s really losing it…
I thought, trying to keep my own nerves in check. If Esther fell apart now, we were done for.
“Leonardo… how does the backup plan work?” I asked, looking for any shred of hope to hold on to.
Leonardo stepped forward, his face grim. “We lied about there not being a door… there is one, but it’s almost impossible to open. We need to turn on a generator that requires a ton of energy. Once it’s powered up, we can leave using a projectile.”
“How much energy are we talking about?” I asked, dreading the answer.
“A lot… More than we have on hand,” Leonardo replied, shaking his head.
“Damn…Wait… the smartphone! It might have enough energy. It was able to send a message from here…” I muttered, feeling the walls closing in on us. Then, it was as if a lightbulb had lit over my head. I was struck by an idea.
Leonardo’s eyes widened, and without hesitation, he lunged for the smartphone, fumbling with it as he tried to harness its power.
[SECURITY MODE ACTIVATE: The device will be inoperative unless Adriel and I give approval. If you try to use it, it will explode…]
Norisa suddenly yelled, his voice cutting through the tension like a knife.
“Nice catch, Norisa…”
“Yeah… As much as I hate you, I don’t want to be stuck with these creeps alone.”

“There’s no time to fight. Let’s cooperate. None of us wants to face Liz-san. You have the key for the generator, and we have the energy. Let’s just get out of here.” I said quickly, trying to keep everyone focused.
Leonardo hesitated for a moment, then nodded his head. “Okay… I think it’s a truce for now. Everyone, get into position.”
I watched as Leonardo moved quickly, racing to activate the generator. He started flipping switches, aligning wires, and channeling the smartphone’s energy into the ancient machinery. The room began to hum with a low, ominous vibration as the generator slowly powered up.

Suddenly, a loud, piercing voice echoed through the structure. “ADRIEL! I SAW YOU WITH ANOTHER GIRL! I APPROVED YOU HAVING SEDA AND EMMA, BUT WHY ANOTHER ONE?! I’LL HAVE TO TEACH YOU A LESSON!”
“Damn, she can yell like that under the sea, with all this pressure? How strong is that girl? She’s like a monster…” Leonardo complained.
“This is no time to be impressed by Liz-san’s strength. Hurry up, or we’re all dead meat!”
“Damn, she’s like She-Hulk…”
“Hurry up…”
“It’s almost there…” Leonardo replied, his hands working furiously to keep everything running.

“DAMN…” I cursed, feeling the pressure build as the walls seemed to close in on us.

“Got it!” Leonardo shouted, triumph lighting up his face as the generator roared to life.
Boooom.

But just as I thought we were about to make our escape, the door to the room burst open with a deafening crash. I barely had time to react before Elizabeth stormed in, her eyes ablaze with fury. Before I could even think to move, she grabbed me and Norisa, her grip like iron.
“Sorry, we’re ending the truce… We’ll come back for you, Norisa,” they said, disappearing and leaving just Norisa and me to face Liz-san…
“We almost made it…” I whispered, the bitter taste of defeat sinking in as I realized how close we had been.
