How to Create a Farm with the All-Known Fantasy Book - 33: Against all Odds
***Rocky’s POV***
Under the sullen gaze of the night’s moon, I was breathing in the stench of the jail cell to which I was chained unto. Looking around, the sight of my companions being hurt, tears a scar in my soul…
I’ve gotten too old…
Too far…
For so long…
I wish I could have told them that this old man has been used up for some time now…they should have just left me be instead of bringing me along fespite being a burden.
My old age has caught up to me…I can barely act right with my decaying sight, and my hurting knee. And to think that my death would be brought by early morning.
Well, I guess its only right for my old age…but it isn’t right for them.
***Alexander’s POV***
Everything has fallen to quickly…who would have thought that a pair of mages would intercept us at the beginning…luckily, we still have a chance at rescuing the princess in time. Its all up to Tyson and the others now…
“What do we do?” asked Orion as he sat chained to the walls beside Tofan who is quite silent in the matter at hand.
“Its weird, they’ve taken Genevieve away from us. Where could they have taken her?” I asked. Thinking back about a few minutes ago, Genevieve was still here with us and was still unconscious, back the guards came back and transported her somewhere else immediately right after.
“They must have been aware of her power as the saint.” said Orion as he looked distrubed.
“.…W-where are we?” asked Bedever as he soon wakes up after the incident.
“Your awake, good, we have to find a way to get out of here.” I said as I soon saw Bedever conscious.
“…How? These chains aren’t some simple iron chains, their enchanted, I feel pretty weak compared to my usual strength…We can’t break loose out of these as easily as that, we need the key first.” said Orion.
“…I saw some of the guards, carrying the key earlier, maybe we can snatch it?” I whispered in hope.
“…even if do know where the key is, how can we get it from where he sit? We can barely stand up because of these chains.” said Orion.
“…”
“…These chains are making me pretty weak, just like how those mages did to us right when they faced us.” said Bedever.
“Its their magic…I’ve seen a mage do this to me before, we can’t bring out our full power while we’re in these chains.” said Rocky as he looks really weak.
***Tyson’s POV***
After staking out for hours while waiting for the sun to set, we finally found where the six imperial dragons where caught, but to our expectations, the place was crawling with guards. Knowing that my brother was locked underground, we had to find a way to get in without getting caught.
The Prison was completely separated from the castle itself. Being built apart from every other building, the prison stood alone by the streets near the castle where guards are heavily guarding every inch of the street. It was the base prison quarter for the guards to train in and store their weapons and all other militia related materials.
The design of the whole entrance to the jail cell really is a tricky situation, as not only is the entrance to the jail cell found on the center of the base, its open for every guard to see. And to get in the cell, we have to pass through the guards standing by the door as there are no other ways in or out. Its quite secure as a jail cell.
“…There’s a lot of guards, how can we get in?” I asked Martin who stood by my side as he too watched the situation at hand.
We were currently standing by a tower that has a high advantage point, making it possible to see the center of the building. And being in the dark, it was fine to stand where we were without being found out.
“We should find a way to catch all of their attention. If we can draw them out, one of us can secure a way in…” said Martin.
“…Well, if its attention that you want, then I can provide that.”
“…are you serious?” he asked, knowing well what I was thinking.
“I can only give you one chance…so do right with your chances.”
“Fine, give me five minutes…I can secure the keys by then. And once we’re all out, we can assist you.” he said. And without wasting anytime, he vanishes out of my sight like a shadow.
“…Let’s do this.” I stretched every part of my body, readying myself. And with it, a smile creeps on my face.
One shouldn’t underestimate what a Dragon is capable of. For what a dragon symbolizes is the true manifestation of fear and strength.
So, let’s not hold back…
As I jumped off the building, landing straight down the floor, I immediately caught the attention of all the Guards that stood by the dozen.
“Come!”
And with it, I brought out my sword and dashed in, ready to be the greatest distraction there is.
***Shirley’s POV***
“Are you sure this is the right way?” I asked as I looked to Louis leading ahead inside the palace.
“…I’m not so sure, but I heard from one of the maids that there’s a guest being cared for at the highest tower. I mean come on, we got to take our chances.” he said spiritingly.
“Fine.” without questioning anything, I believed in Louis.
We’ve been making do with our search all over the castle, and to our surprise, we’ve found not a single clue as to where the princess was or even the light mage himself.
We got into the castle through the sewers, which to our surprise, we were able to enter through breaking the floors at one of the bathroom. We had to take out a few guards who were suspicious of our entrance along with a few maids as well. We tied them up and put them in a storage room where not a single person would check on. And now knowing the increasingly low number of guards guarding the inside, its only right to be suspicious, so we made our way to the top in the assumption from Louis’s information about this supposed guest at the top of the tower.
As we made our way across the halls, it only got more suspicious. I noticed that there were less and less guards as we made our way up…
It could only mean that no one is allowed to be here at this level of the castle.
“…This is weird, there’s barely any guards around.” I said as I looked around the hallway.
“Yeah, maybe I was wrong to believe that maid. But where else would the king hide her?” asked Louis.
“Hmm, I don’t know. But lets keep searching.” and with it, we continued our search.
***Shay’s POV***
“AK, how can I save the entire the heart’s kingdom from the Demon?” I asked the book.
[ANALYZING….ANALYSIS COMPLETE. WITH YOUR CURRENT STRENGTH, YOU HAVE A CHANCE TO FULLY EXORCISE THE DEMON AND SAVE THE KINGDOM. BUT IF YOU WANT A HIGHER CHANCE OF GRACE, YOU MUST FREE THE ONE REMAINING CHARACTER THAT WILL SUPPORT YOU.]
“How high are my chances if I go in alone?” I asked.
[…44.36% CHANCE OF FULLY EXORCISING THE DEMON.]
“…That’ a bit lower than I could have imagined…okay, who should I free then?” I asked.
[WITH THE ASSISTANCE OF ‘APRECIUS KHALI’, YOU WILL SURELY RAISE YOUR CHANCES OF VICTORY TO 67.01%.]
“…Aprecius Khali, The light mage…Where can I find him?” I asked.
[APRECIUS KHALI IS CURRENTLY HELD ON TOP OF ONE OF THE TOWERS OF THE CASTLE…HE IS CAGED AND IS CURRENTLY LOSING BLOOD BY THE SECOND. IN APPROXIMATELY 5 HOURS 42 MINUTES AND 16 SECONDS, HE WILL SURELY DIE DUE TO LOSS OF BLOOD.]
“What!?”
Immediately after knowing this fact, I grabbed the reigns on my Iron Stead and left the wagon by its own.
I had to save this mages life…because if I don’t, I’m not sure if I can take on the demon by myself.
Although I have some doubts with the All-Known book, knowing how it tried to kill me just seconds ago, I had no choice but to take word of its knowledge. Maybe by its perspective, it was trying to protect itself. And although I never got an answer to why it tried to kill me, I can’t really do anything about this book since its not in my control apparently.
So I ride to the castle that night. Knowing how fast the stead was…it’ll probably take around about an hour to reach the kingdom.
“Let’s go!” I said as I rode on the stead with the speed of that of a motorcycle. It was fast.
***Aprecius Khali’s POV***
“…”
I’m tired.
Any minute now and I’ll surely die…I’ve lost too many blood.
Those damn mages…why did they side with the Pestilus knowing full well what he was.
If only…If only I can save the princess in time, then maybe I can serve the Emperor one last time…but I can’t.
*Drip*
*Drip*
*Drip*
I could only hear the dripping noise of my own blood as it drops down the rusty bucket.
How long have I been caged in this prevalent tower…I haven’t eaten in days now…and my blood is the only thing keeping me company of myself.
‘…Drip…drip…drip…’ the thoughts and wonder of my own blood really keeps my mind at its tip toe.
Out as the mage lays in his cage, dripping blood, a man enters the room through its wall, carrying a staff on hand. This man was one of the two mages only available for this kingdom…and the one in cahoots with the demon.
With a silky set of hair, and a great mustache to compliment his monocle. The man enters the room with a full set of smiles.
“Well, lucky for you Khali, your about to die at your own terms…here, take this knife and stick it up your neck.” said the man as he tosses a knife straight into Khali’s caged where it was coincidentally pierced down his thigh.
“…” but Khali didn’t react to the pain.
“…Hmm, don’t blame me for treating you like this, blame yourself. If the fact that a mage’s blood could have increased another mages mana limit, I wouldn’t have been so forceful with you if you weren’t a mage. But the stars that you were…thank them indeed.’ he said ever so smiling.
“…You know that theory doesn’t work. If I die…the mana in my blood will only dissipate in time. Its worthless if you consume it as is. No man has made the progress to increase one’s mana capacity.” said Khali as he looks to the mage with a cold gaze.
“Oh but there was Khali! With the help of the Demon that is…”
“…How?” he asked.
“Demons grow strong by consuming the life force of all the people they have massacred. Its in their biology to how it is explained, their growth is quite a spectacle if you ask me…while humans on the other hand, they stand to be the weakest front out of all existence. Its only by our efforts that we stand strong to this day as a group.”
“…”
“But I don’t like being in groups…its suffocating. We’re not elves…not dwarves…and most of all, we’re not Gods, so we can’t do anything about our bodies. It is by luck that we are born lucky to be mages…but we are only ever so lucky if we were born with a good supply of mana.”
“…I wasn’t lucky in that part…but you were, so don’t blame me if it hurts…don’t blame me on my actions…blame yourself for being so lucky being born as you are. Aprecius Khali, the great Light mage of the Dragon Empire.”
“…”
“Now then, if you do decide to kill yourself here…right now….I wouldn’t have any problems with it. It’ll take a few hours before your blood runs out of its own magic, by then, I would have enough time to take in the magic from your blood permanently…”
“How!?” asked Khali in question.
“Thanks to the King…Demon, whatever you call him, he finally gave me the formula for the perfect spell to put your mana into mine. Isn’t that great?” he said happily to the celebration.
“…If you do this, what would happen?” asked Khali.
“I’ll grow stronger…better…maybe, I can finally prove my teacher what is what. Hahahahahahahahahaha!” he laughed.
“The human body is not meant for such a process…if anything, what the Demon gave you is a formula for turning you into a part demon! You wouldn’t be human anymore!” said Khali as he tries to warn the mage.
“…I know…but I’m sick of being a human…being weak…I’d rather be a strong elegant demon that has the capability to have unlimited growth against all natures of restrictions.”
“Your crazy!”
“…I am? Well, I never noticed it. Well..I was crazy once, they locked me in a room, a rubber room…a rubber room filled with rats.”
“…”
“And the rats…the rats turned me crazy….crazy…hmm, but when I got out of that room…I wasn’t so crazy anymore…in fact…in fact…I was crazy once, they locked me in a room, a rubber room…a rubber room filled with rats…”
“…”
