When the morning came, everyone was quick to the action of packing things up. Everyone except Shay who sat by the tracks of a ginormous paw print.

“…”

“What are you doing sir Shay? Everything is packed and ready so we should start moving out.” said Alexander as he got on the wagon.

“…Yeah, okay.” seeing the paw print of the king of this jungle, he could have no doubts to the fact that what happened last night was actually real.

He lazily walked to his stead with a pair of anxious eyes and simply petted the stead as if to calm his own nerves.

*Neehhh~~*

As the stead neighed, he lead the horse to the wagon and attached him back.

Having the stead attached to the wagon, they continued on their journey. But even as they rode, it was clear to the few people riding with him that something was troubling him.

“Is something wrong sir Shay? Did you not get a good night’s sleep?” asked Geneveive as she looked rather curious of his expression.

“I’m fine, just had some weird dream last night.” said Shay as he in his little white lie.

“…I see, well if your feeling unwell, would you mind if I take the reigns so that you can rest?” she asked.

“..No, its okay. If I gave you the reigns, I don’t know how my stead might react.” he said.

“Well, it won’t hurt to try right?” she asked.

“…”

“Well?”

“I guess…” having stood up from her chair, she went and sat beside Shay and in return, he simply handed the reigns to her.

“Hmm, looks like he doesn’t mind.” said Shay as he smiled at this nice occurrence.

The horse simply looked back as he noticed a different hand touch his reigns, and turned back forward, as if completely unbothered by this change.

“Hmm, indeed.” said Geneveive.

And with that, Hamil turned his head to the side and looked ot the everlasting field of meadows. With the sight of the blue sky, flat green hills and the white clouds simply gripped his attention. Here in of its self was a perfect view of how tranquility was to a man’s understanding.

“…”

He stared and did nothing else at his own pace.

And as he did, the same went for everyone else as they too was moved by the view.

“This place is quite beautiful during the day…” said Orion as he showed this vulnerable look on his face.

“…Indeed.” said Alexander as he admired the same view as the rest.

Everyone at this moment was simply taking in the view of what it was to be in peace…

As to think that what comes after this is a battle unlike anything they could imagine to happen.

Their journey continued forth for another night that came and pass…

This time, the king of this jungle was nowhere to be found. It was just a quiet night for the people to rest on. And when the next day came, it finally was the time that they were getting closer to enemy territory.

As the horses rode closer and closer to the location, it dawned on them that out by the distance, a huge cluster of smoke was rising to the air.

“…Its smoke.” said Alexander as he looks beyond the front.

“It’s quite a big one too.” said Bedever

“Something is happening there…We should stop here and scout ahead to see what the situation is.” said Tyson.

“Agreed. Shirley, Louis, you two go on ahead and scout the situation. Bring a scope with you to make it easier.” said Alexander.

With that, Louis, the edgy looking Imperial Dragon and Shirley got off the wagon and made their way to the direction of that smoke.

They were already near the walls that separated the Flat Bioma from the Hearts Kingdom, as it Is around 5 kilometers in distance. And seeign the sun start to rise, it was a good time to scout and see what the situation was since not a lot of people are still awake at this time.

The group had to tie the horses down to a tree and make sure that they were in a hidden location.

Making sure that they were not found, they didn’t started any fire’s or anything to cause attention, all they did was wait as the sun rose for the minutes that passed by.

“With Shirley being there, she should be able to see if they can have a chance of finding an entrance.”

“If there isn’t, we’ll just go over to the edge of the walls that the hearts kingdom made and then we’ll cross it then. It should still be a few more days before the army reaches word at the Hearts Kingdom, until then, we must make sure to pass over the gates.” said Alexander.

As they continued to wait, after two hours of waiting, the two sent scouts finally arrived back.

“”haaa….haaa….haa””

Tired and sweaty, the two were clearly in the hurry.

“What happened? What did you see?”

“Its…its heavily guarded. We can’t sneak our way in.” said Louis as he sat down on the ground with heavy breaths.

“…The Gate has been fully fixed and its guards has been doubled since the last time I saw.” said Shirley.

“How did you know that the guards have been doubled?”

“They built two new look-out post on this side of the wall…three men are looking with each one carrying a scope with them. Their very alert and we were almost caught.” said Shirley.

“…What about the smoke? Did you find what it was?”

“…It smelled bad, it reminded me of a burnt corpse smell.” said Louis as his face began to pale.

“And not just that, screams…there were screams from women and children near that wall.” said Shirley.

“!!”” everyone was quickly shocked by this fact that sweat started dripping from their faces. Cold sweat.

“…those Demon bastards…” an angry spout was heard from Bedever as his faced frowned in anger.

“Was there anything else?” asked Orion.

“…We can’t jump over the gate…at least not at the front part of the area, there’s too many eyes looking over. We’ll have to go and move towards the south edge. It’ll take long but at the edge of their wall, an ocean port is built there. We can make our way there and see what the situation is.” suggested Alexander.

“How about the other end of the wall, The north end of the wall is more filled with a thick forest, maybe we can go there. Its better since its hard to find us” said Tyson.

“We can’t, Louis went in there to check and found a group of wild beast clawing at the ends of the walls. I don’t know why but they must have been attracted by the burning smell of flesh. So it’ll be too dangerous to go there.” said Shirley.

“I guess we have not other choice then.” said Orion as he and Shay went and untied the horses from the tree.

“We’ll make our way south starting here, that should be far enough for them to even see us.” said Bedever.

And with that everyone quickly got on and rode their way south. They followed no road except for the clear flat field before them. Their only indication of a direction was none other than the wall itself that was indiscreetly visible from where they were riding.

By the time that they’ve travelled for about 25km, they finally arrived at what seems to be a rocky shore at the end of the Flat fields.

“…” by the distance, the wall was at its end and with it, a few small fishing boats were seen as well.

“…Strange, there’s not a single Ship that belongs to the kingdom that’s docked in the pier…where are they?” asked Tyson to himself as he looked at the peaceful looking pier.

The hearts kingdom was known for their great militia in the waters. Owning over a hundred or so ships, they had the authority and responsibility to handle the issues regarding the monster under the waters. The Kingdom itself is one that contributes to the economic control over the waters as their trading prowess is one that comes from all over the world. They are known as the Merchant Kingdom of the waters.

To see that their king has been in control of a demon for the past year is nothing but surprising.

Their armies rises over a count that passes five thousand. And although it is weaker than some, none can simply invade their land as it is in complete control of the trading natures of water. They have made great allies all over Astra by travel of sea, and they have made the great contribution of discovering new lands all over the edges of the world. One can’t simply go against their very contributions and fame.

“…That is something to look out for.” as they all got off the wagon, they have decided to sneak into the pier.

But first, they had to send in another team of scouts. This time it was Martin Canada and Tyson Percival who was sent to check out the situation in the pier.

After 30 minutes of waiting, they finally came back with new found information.

“How is it?” asked Alexander.

“…Its hard to say. Not a lot of guards in the area and the people in this pier have been staying at their houses. Not a single person is out by the streets.” said Tyson.

“No merchants on sight that sells by the road, and by my count, only about 10 guards are roaming around the streets.”

“We tried getting information at a bar, and in return, it was said that the king has sent order that all men are to be sent to the kingdom and women and children are to left behind. We also found out that the ships are placed around the sea territory of this kingdom…all one hundred of them.”

“Men being taken, ships being placed for guard…looks like the devil is hesitant of being caught. He’s practically preparing for war now.” said Alexander.

“Your right…The people must have not known what is going on inside the castle or their king.” said Orion.

“Your right…when we escaped, only a few people were able to witness the revealing of demon himself inside the kingdom. The princess herself and the other accompanied few guest who supported her decision to make peace with the king. ” said Shirley.

“How did you figure out that he was a demon?” asked Shay as he stood curious.

“There was a Light Mage that accompanied the princess. He was the great mage that stood by the side of the Emperor as he looks over the Dragon Empire. And by the emperor’s request, the light mage assisted the princess as she traverses on her way to this kingdom and speak to the king of this territory. He was the one who figured out about the King’s true form. He’s name is Aprecius Khali, One of the great mages known in the Dragon Empire.” explained Alexander.

“…I see. So what should we do now?” asked Shay as he stood curious by the next move.

“Sir Shay, you don’t have to do anything else, we will move on to this mission without you. Since your purpose of bringing us here at a faster route has been accomplished, we will do our objective in bringing the princess back.” Said Orion as he puts his hand on Shay’s shoulders in thanks to his efforts.

“I see…” having understood his words, Shay accepted that he had nothing else to do.

“If possible, we might return back here after a while with the princess while the demon does not know of her being missing, by then we can escape using the same route at the Flat Bioma.” said Tyson.

“…Okay then.” seeing as how his job is not finished, it seems as though he will wait here until they return.

And with that, the group then proceeded to make a plan in advancing to the palace from here without Shay himself.

After thirty minutes of discussion, they finally came to a decision.

“We’ll split into two groups, one group retrieving the princess and one group slaying the demon.”

The first group on the mission to retrieve the princess is as listed.

Shirley

Martin Canada

Tyson Percival

And Louis

The group known for their stealth.

The second group is responsible for taking the head of the demon himself.

Alexander Modelva

Orion Percival

Bedever Daradan

Genevieve Whitney

Tofan

And Old man Rocky.

The group that’s capable of handling the demon.

They don’t know what awaits them…but seeing their power, they can handle whatever it is that comes their way.

The first group plans on making their way to the back entrance of the castle where they well find the schematics of the entire palace in search of the location of the princess.

The second group well try to infiltrate the kingdom using the back entrance and make their way to the king himself. They will only attack once the princess is secured.

And with that, the plan was set and the Imperial Dragons made their way to the castle at a far distance. By passing and sneaking through the ten guards of this pier, they easily made their way to the king’s castle and by foot.

It was only about 20km by distance and if they can make it there by midnight, they can still have the chance to attack during the night. The perfect time to set an ambush against the king.

It all stands with the victory of the Dragons…if they can that is…

Inside the empty hall that placed the king that sat by himself, he wore this rotting face that had maggots sticking out and puss dripping by each hole…

The king’s face was simply less appealing than that of a goblin…

and behind that face, the true smile of a devil reeks of evil…

One that wants nothing but the hand and full acceptance from the princess herself…

“Only time will do for you to finally accept my hand…my hand…my golden trustful hand…accept it my love…and everything shall be yours.” he said into the cold winds of the hall by himself.

“Only time will tell…”
