Home Date? No, I'm Cooking At Her House For Some Reason - Chapter 6
May 20 (Friday) On the Way to School with Friends…
A/N: This time it’s short.
While heading to school with my friend from elementary school…
Since our high school is on top of a hill, the last 10 minutes of the trip requires us to get off our bikes and walk.
Miyazaki took this opportunity to tease me.
“I heard you got a girlfriend? The rumor reached my class.”
“Who’s spreading that?”
“Probably Ota, right? He’s in your class. There are a few guys in my class who were with you in the first year, so they might have heard it from him. But why didn’t you tell me?”
Ota, huh…well, it’s fine. It’s not like he’s spreading bad rumors.
“It’s still just a trial period. Okada-san doesn’t know me that well yet, so there’s a chance she might be disappointed, and we could break up.”
“Is that so? So, how far have you gotten?”
“We went to a movie, had dinner and tea, and talked a bit after school. We’re having a study session at Okada-san’s house this Sunday.”
“You’re already going to your girlfriend’s place? The development is fast. Won’t her parents be home on Sunday?”
“It seems that her mom already found out, so it looks like we have to do it at her home. We were planning to have a study session at the library…”
“Hahaha.”
“I’m bringing a small gift, but I’m worried about what her dad might say.”
“Like, ‘I won’t give you my daughter?’ Hahaha.”
While pushing our bikes up the hill, instead of our usual chat about the TV shows or manga we watched the previous day, we spent the entire time talking about my girlfriend.
After school…
“Tomorrow is Saturday, so I’ve arranged to hang out with Yamada and the others after school. Since it’s at Yamada’s house, it will take about 30 minutes by bicycle to get there.”
“I’ll be hanging out with Yoshimura-chan and the others.”
“Now that I think about it, there seems to be talk in other classes that we’re dating, have you heard of it?”
“I haven’t heard of it?”
“I heard from Miyazaki in Class 7, who I bike with every morning. Ota from our class might be spreading it, as we were in the same class in the first year. Well, it’s fine.”
“Still, it’s a bit embarrassing that it’s spreading so quickly.”
“Well yeah.”
At this point, we decided to change the topic to the study session.
“Is the study session on Sunday, okay?”
“Yeah, it’s okay.”
“10 AM, right?”
“Yeah, 10 AM. What subjects should we study? I’ll bring all my notes for my own study.”
“Could you help me with the math and science subjects?”
“Got it. Are your grades not so good in those subjects?”
“Yeah…”
“I’ll do my best to make it as understandable as possible. I hope I can teach it well.”
“Thank you.”
It was getting late, so I decided to walk her home again.
There’s still so much I want to talk about and ask her.
“Your dad will be home on Sunday, right?”
“He should be… you’re definitely nervous, aren’t you?”
“…Yeah.”
