Chapter 93 The Hero’s Mother Perceives
◆Wiel’s Side◆
Wiel arrived in the city. Based on the map in her mind, she reached the destination after a bit of confusion.
However, during her disorientation, the kingdom’s army and the Sea Gang were engaged in full-scale combat, with smoke rising from various spots.
Seeing this from the sky, Wiel furrowed his brow.
“I’ve never cursed my sense of direction this much before…!”
Quickly shaking off her frustration, Wiel instantly deployed a magic circle.
From a surface to an arc. From an arc to a sphere──.
“Three-dimensional magic circle deployment… Source of the stars, protect, heal, and guide the flow of dreams──《Innocent Armor》”
Immediately, the magic activated.
The protective magic enveloped all the citizens in the city.
It shielded women about to be attacked.
It healed children who were injured and lying on the ground.
It put to sleep those who had been frightened.
“What!?”
“What is this!?”
“Magic!?”
“Where is it coming from!”
Voices of confusion echoed from all directions.
Both the kingdom’s army and the Sea Gang were perplexed by the unknown magic.
Then, Neptune’s voice was heard.
In summary, the magic was friendly and the kingdom’s army was reassured, their morale boosting instantly.
“Nice assist, Lord Neptune.”
“It’s nothing. Just doing what needed to be done. I will do what I can. Wiel, do what you must.”
“Yes. Leave this to me.”
Wiel cut off the telepathic communication from Neptune and deployed the three-dimensional magic circle again.
This time, she intended to cast a strengthening spell on the kingdom’s army──and in the next moment.
“Hmm.”
Sensing the presence of magic from afar, she swiftly switched the three-dimensional magic circle to defensive magic.
Just in time, the water blade was blocked by the defensive magic and dispersed into mist.
It wasn’t a stray shot. It was undoubtedly a deliberately targeted spell.
Tracing the magical aura embedded in the spell, Wiel turned her gaze toward the perpetrator.
The culprit was fleeing. Moving in zigzags through the city, probably thinking they wouldn’t be noticed.
“You’re too naive. 《Lightning Bolt》”
“────!?!”
The lightning spell unleashed by Wiel struck the fleeing fishman.
Naturally, they attempted to counter with defensive magic, but the difference in power was so great that they were pierced through instantly.
“I would appreciate it if you didn’t interfere.”
Having once again applied strengthening magic to the kingdom’s army, Wiel descended to the ground and headed toward the holes.
Holes opened up in the ruins’ underground.
Holes camouflaged by warehouse stock.
Holes, holes, holes.
Countless holes were scattered everywhere.
“How on earth did you manage to make so many holes…”
Using magic, Wiel created massive rocks from nothing and filled the holes completely.
Filling, filling, filling. Every time she encountered a gang, she filled and crushed them as well.
No matter how many she filled, it was never-ending, and gangs kept emerging from various places.
As expected, this seemed to be their main force.
“Still… they seem to be serious over there too.”
Buildings were destroyed, and black smoke was rising.
The damage was considerable.
Yet, Wiel couldn’t understand why they were causing such a commotion.
(Is there some other purpose? A diversion…? Even so, it seems rather sloppy.)
Wiel cleared away the persistent gangs and climbed onto a rooftop to survey the area.
The sea gangs were wreaking havoc, looting and plundering as much as they could.
However, thanks to the kingdom’s army, some of the damage was being mitigated.
“Impressive, as expected of a military force. They are well-organized and highly trained. With this, … huh?”
She realized.
The kingdom’s army had gathered to protect the citizens and the city from the sea gangs.
This meant that the castle had only minimal security.
“──Neptune-sama…!”
Wiel’s gaze shifted toward the castle.
Immediately after, there was an explosion and black smoke rose from the castle.
“Tch! Neptune-sama, can you hear me!?”
‘Wiel. We are fine here. Leave it to me.’
“But you are the Ruler of this nation and the sea god. If anything happens…!”
‘Hahaha! Do you think I could be defeated by such petty thieves? I will show them the true terror of the sea god.’
As the telepathic communication with Neptune ended, Wiel sensed a tremendous amount of magical power emanating from the castle.
In terms of magical power, it seemed equal to Wiel’s… or perhaps even greater.
“So the name of the sea god is not just for show…”
Indeed, it seemed unnecessary for her to provide assistance. Wiel quickly shifted her focus and leaped down to the city to seal the remaining holes.
