Chapter 67 The Sea God Begs
“Indeed, it is I!” Neptune declared confidently, puffing out her chest.
With that motion, her ample bosom jiggled, causing all three of them to quickly avert their eyes. It was too provocative, too sensual, and—to put it bluntly—just too erotic. Even Wiel and Mion, both women, had to look away.
Neptune then closed the fan she had been holding and pointed directly at Croix.
“By the way, Croix, as I’ve mentioned before, you have the right to make me bear your child. Do not call me ‘Your Majesty’; call me Nep, or Nep-tan.”
“I’ll have to decline,” Croix responded immediately.
“Don’t reject me so quickly, or I’ll cry,” Neptune pouted, her eyes welling up with tears.
Seeing the mythological sea god Neptune, known for her control over the ocean’s harmony and tranquility, about to cry was deeply confusing for Mion. According to legend, when Neptune was angered, the seas would become treacherous, with high waves and whirlpools causing chaos for a decade. Yet here was this powerful figure, on the verge of tears. It was hard not to be bewildered.
Noticing Mion’s stare, Neptune blinked and asked, “By the way, who are you?”
“Uh…! M-my name is Mion, and I am the disciple of Lord Croix and Lady Wiel…!” Mion stammered nervously.
“A disciple, you say?” Neptune’s interest was piqued, and she stood up from her throne, approaching Mion.
As expected, she stood over four meters tall, and her overwhelming presence and sheer aura made Mion instinctively step back. Neptune crouched down and examined Mion as if assessing her.
“Hmm… Hmm?”
“Uh, is there something…?”
“…You’re kind of tiny, aren’t you?”
“T-Tiny!?”
Mion felt as though she’d been struck in the chest by Neptune’s sudden insult. It was true that, compared to others her age, Mion’s body was less developed. But just because she was developing slowly didn’t mean she was undeveloped. Definitely not.
She remembered her mother’s generous figure, so surely she’d grow too… eventually. These thoughts raced through her mind, but they didn’t heal the wound to her pride, and Mion slumped to the ground, crestfallen.
“Tiny… tiny…” she muttered sadly.
“Neptune-sama, please apologize,” Wiel demanded.
“S-sorry,” Neptune apologized, realizing she might have gone too far.
However, Neptune soon changed the subject. “But what happened to Remi? Last time you were here, she was with you, wasn’t she?”
“She’s mastered her training, so she’s on her own now. I’m not sure what she’s up to, but she’s probably having fun fighting the Demon King’s army or something,” Croix replied.
“She’s still as fiery as ever,” Neptune sighed softly, gently patting Mion’s head with her fingertips.
Mion, however, was puzzled by the unfamiliar name. “Who is Remi-san?” she asked.
“Oh, right. Mion-chan, you haven’t met Remi. She’s your senior disciple,” Wiel explained.
“Senior disciple!?” Mion exclaimed.
She already knew that Nax from the port town of Acreana was a senior disciple, and that Sakya was a grand-disciple, though not directly related. But she was surprised to learn there were still more disciples.
“Since she’s mastered her training, that means she’s really strong, right?” Mion asked.
“She’s very strong. I guarantee it,” Croix declared.
If Croix was vouching for her strength, then Remi must indeed be formidable. Mion hoped she wouldn’t have to fight her, though the chances seemed slim.
Neptune stood up and returned to her throne, crossing her legs with an almost unbearable sensuality.
“So, Croix, how long do you plan to stay? Of course, you’ll be here indefinitely, right? Don’t worry, I’ll take care of all your needs. You’re welcome to stay as long as you like. In fact, let’s throw a welcome party in my castle! I’ll even give you gold and treasures if you want. What do you say? Hm?” Neptune asked excitedly, clearly thrilled by Croix’s presence.
Wiel clung tightly to Croix’s arm, and Croix, with a wry smile, gently patted her head.
“I’m glad for the invitation, but we only stopped by to replenish our supplies of food and water. We’ll leave as soon as we’re done,” Croix replied.
“Wh-what…!?” Neptune’s eyes welled up with tears again.
Mion couldn’t help but think she was rather cute.
“Don’t say such a lonely thing! You haven’t been here in so long, so stay a bit longer and keep me company!” Neptune pleaded.
“But if we stay too long, you’ll just keep pestering us about making babies,” Croix countered.
“Ugh…” Neptune groaned, clearly having intended to do just that.
Even Wiel seemed to be reaching her limit, with veins visibly bulging on her forehead.
“F-fine. I won’t mention making babies anymore. Just stay in this country for a little while. I’m bored…” Neptune said, looking dejected.
Croix shifted his gaze from the downcast Neptune to Wiel.
Wiel, who had been glaring at Neptune, let out a deep sigh and released Croix’s arm.
“In that case, we’ll take you up on your offer. I wouldn’t mind sleeping in a nice soft bed for a change,” Wiel said.
“Thank you, Wiel! That settles it—let’s have a feast! Everyone, prepare for the banquet!” Neptune exclaimed, skipping out of the audience chamber, leaving the three of them alone in the room.
“Neptune-sama is quite the cute person, isn’t she?” Mion observed.
“Indeed. But she was much more difficult to deal with in the past,” Wiel remarked.
“She doesn’t seem that way at all… Oh, it’s Croix-sama again,” Mion said, noticing Croix.
“‘Again’ is a bit rude, don’t you think?” Croix replied with a smile.
