Chapter 55 The Hero’s Father is Targeted
After throwing the three people off the hotel roof, Croix leisurely returned to where the other two were.
“Oh, that was quick.”
“Yeah. I just tossed them into the sea.”
“That’s why it was so quick.”
Wiel nodded in understanding, but Mion was utterly shocked.
From the 65th-floor rooftop to the sea below, that’s quite a height.
And knowing Croix, he didn’t just push them off. He definitely threw them slightly upward first.
Which means they were dropped from a height of about 300 meters with nothing but their bare bodies…
(Well, it’s Croix-sama, after all.)
But Mion decided to stop thinking about it.
Croix rinsed himself and got into the bath.
Though, given Croix’s height, it looked more like a half-bath.
Croix crossed his arms and pondered.
“Even so, something’s odd.”
“You thought so too?”
“Of course.”
Croix and Wiel were discussing something.
Mion hadn’t thought anything was strange, but it seemed the two of them had their suspicions.
“Um, what’s odd?”
“This hotel is a super luxury hotel, the kind where even His Majesty would stay. Normally, people like that wouldn’t be let in.”
“Oh, you’re right.”
It was only when it was pointed out that she finally noticed.
Looking around at the now calm mixed bath, it was clear that the people present exuded a certain elegance.
Only those with a certain level of status and wealth seemed to be there.
No matter how you looked at it, those three did not fit the profile of people who should be in this hotel.
“Then why were they here…?”
“I don’t know, but there might be something to it.”
“Why didn’t you ask them? Croix-sama seems like he’d be good at torture.”
“That’s hurtful. Mion-chan, what do you think of me?”
Croix’s face twitched at Mion’s words.
But Wiel, after downing her champagne, flashed an innocent smile.
“Mion-chan, before he could torture someone, my husband would accidentally kill them because he doesn’t know his own strength, so he’s actually not very good at it.”
“Ah, I see. That really was hurtful, wasn’t it? I’m sorry.”
“That’s not what I meant…”
At that moment, there was no one on Croix’s side.
“Simply put, no matter what tricks they tried, they couldn’t do anything to us. That’s why I tossed them out. That’s all there is to it.”
“Indeed. We don’t turn anyone away.”
“Exactly.”
Seeing Croix nod quietly and Wiel smile brightly, Mion felt sympathy.
For the yet unseen enemies who were thinking of making a move against these two…

“Hmm, so that’s the hero’s father that Lord Balba mentioned.”
In a cave far from the port town of Acreana, a lone demon sat on a rock.
She was a woman with blue skin. While scales covered her private areas, they couldn’t hide her sultry aura.
A candle stood atop a skull, its flame flickering despite the absence of wind.
In the wavering light, her red eyes gleamed eerily.
This was Anela, a close aide to the Demon Eye Emperor Balba.
In her hand, she held a crystal that replayed the image of Croix over and over.
“Lord Balba told us to focus only on the hero, but this man… he’s the one who killed that fool Doreal… In that case, it makes more sense to eliminate him first, doesn’t it?”
Anela licked her lips as she stared at Croix.
Her cheeks appeared slightly flushed.
“But still, what a fine man. A strong male is incredibly attractive… to the point where I could just eat him up.”
Anela grinned, baring her teeth.
Though “teeth” might be an understatement—her fangs were sharp and pointed, more like a predator’s.
“Oh dear, oh dear, my bad habits are showing.”
Covering her mouth with her hand in a refined manner, she let out a soft, ladylike laugh, despite there being no one else around to see it.
Anela refocused and looked at Croix in the crystal again.
“Even if the Demon King kills the hero, as long as this man is alive, world domination can’t be achieved. So eliminating him would be for Lord Balba’s sake… and for the Demon King as well.”
Anela placed the crystal into a crevice in the rock and turned her gaze to the candle’s flame.
With just that look, the flame went out, plunging the cave into darkness.
But even in the pitch black, her red eyes shone brightly.
“First, I need to make preparations. Hehe, hehehe…”
Anela chuckled as she slowly walked deeper into the cave.
