Hey, Best Friend. How About A Kiss Today Too? - Chapter 81: "Let's go!"
“Let’s go!”
Two days after tearfully parting ways, Sagiri stormed in, and a fight ensued. Then, within an hour of agreeing to the serious match of resisting kisses, a bolt from the blue occurred when both our parents set off on the neighborhood association trip.
And here we were, Sagiri herself nestled snugly against me on my bed, her back against the wall, while I held her from behind.
If someone who knew nothing about this situation were to be told, would they believe we were having a fight?
Even I find it hard to believe. But our issues remained unresolved.
“While ‘Do’ is for ‘Donuts,’ ‘Re’ is for ‘Renji’.”
Despite this assertion, my dear childhood friend was happily singing some mysterious altered lyrics. According to her, if the outcome of a match was too easy, it would be boring. But from my perspective, her tactics were just too amateurish. I told her as much.
“Sigh…”
“Don’t give up now.”
Then, abruptly, she sighed. I literally felt her shoulders rise and fall, our skin touching through our clothes.
She’s emotionally unstable, my childhood friend.
I wonder how ‘Re’ was arranged after ‘Mi.’ If she’s going to sigh, she should’ve gone all the way to ‘Fa.’
“Your parents went out to play, didn’t they?”
“Yeah, they did.”
“I’m so jealous…”
The reason for the sigh was ridiculously simple.
If the reason for kissing me were just as simple, how happy would I be?
“That’s a shame.”
“Can I pat your head?”
“You’re quite demanding.”
“Hehehehehe…”
She’s really something.
Her hair is silky smooth, and the more I stroke it, the nicer it smells.
“If they weren’t on the trip, you might not have been able to join the radio calisthenics, right?”
“Huh? Oh yeah, true. It starts next week.”
“And it’s just adults at the neighborhood association meeting, right?”
“It’s all about adulting, huh?”
Not wrong, but something about the way she said it rubbed me the wrong way. Her hair might be silky smooth, but…
“I don’t want to become an adult.”
“What’s a grown-up like you saying?”
“It’s not like that! I’m perfectly mature! Even Renji… uh, you, just confirmed it by touching me earlier…”
“Don’t act shy at the end!”
Her development was undeniably impressive. I had to admit it, it was really, really good.
“So, how about the kids go somewhere?”
“Huh?”
Sagiri turned to me eagerly.
It seemed like she had completely forgotten about our standoff.
The most beloved beauty in the world stood before me, with her stunning features.
“Since both our parents are out, and we need to buy groceries for the next few days. Plus, just relying on what we have at home would make our free time on this holiday seem dull, don’t you think? We could grab lunch somewhere and wander around, play while we’re at it. How does that sound? Not bad, right?”
“Is that okay?”
Why the hesitation now?
Well, maybe it’s an unconscious habit, a remnant from her past experiences of being sickly and unable to go outside, just left to envy others.
“Of course. It’s summer vacation, and who’s going to get mad at us for having fun while also having a little competition?”
But things are different now.
I can take the now healthy, perhaps too healthy, Sagiri anywhere.
“Well, if Sagiri wants to prioritize the competition, we could just endure here on the bed and have a luxurious takeout party. What do you say?”
“Let’s go!”
She answered immediately.
And her smile was really, really beautiful.
Sagiri looks great with a smile, no doubt about it.
Seeing that smile made me happy, and I couldn’t help but want to kiss her.
Sure, looking at her face might be dangerous.
For that, I’m grateful to Sagiri.
A date it is~
