Her words were a little frightening, but I understood that was her way of reassuring me, saying it was okay if I failed, as long as I did my best.

After finishing the delicious breakfast together, Aria-san and I left the inn and headed for the adventurer’s guild.

“Adin-kun.”

Just as we were about to leave the inn, Aria-san called me with a serious expression. She continued, still looking at me with that serious face.

“It’s all thanks to you, Aria-san.”

“No, it’s because you’ve worked so hard, Adin-kun.”

Aria-san hugged me and said in a gentler voice.

“Remember the promise we made long ago? Let’s make it come true together.”

While being hugged by Aria-san, I returned her embrace.

“Hey… is it okay?”

“…It’s fine.”

Aria and I kissed each other and left the inn to head to the adventurer’s guild.

When we arrived at the guild, Milena-san greeted us with a smile.

“Good afternoon, Adin-san, Aria-san… it’s finally the day, huh?”

“Yes! I’ll definitely complete this quest!”

“I believe in you, Adin-san. Please complete the quest and show us your cheerful face when you return.”

“I promise.”

After I responded, Milena-san smiled warmly and proceeded with the quest registration.

“Now you can head out whenever you’re ready. Please be careful.”

“Thank you.”

I thanked Milena-san and headed toward the door of the adventurer’s guild.

“Adin-san, once you become an S-rank adventurer, you’ll become an even more attractive man… What I mentioned before might not be so far off after all.”

“Eh… what do you mean by—?”

“Milena! Don’t say such things at a time like this!”

“I’m not joking! I’m serious.”

“Your seriousness is what’s ridiculous!”

“Even on a day like this, huh?”

As Aria-san and Milena-san were arguing, Shuteridone-san murmured from behind me.

“I don’t intend to say much, but I’m sure you’ll complete this quest as well. If that happens, I, as an S-rank adventurer, will need to set an example for you.”

“I’ve said it before, but I will show others the same example as you, Shuteridone-san.”

“Heh, that’s the spirit… Go on and do your best.”

“Yes!”

Finally, I took a step toward the door of the guild, and just as I was about to step outside—

“Ah! Adin is becoming an S-rank adventurer today, huh? I used to imagine all kinds of things with you before you reached the highest rank as an adventurer… but if your hard work is being rewarded, then that’s a good thing. You’ve been working so hard for this.”

“Yes… I’ll definitely become an S-rank adventurer today!”

“Ugh… I just got a little fluttery from that—”

“S-succubus! Get away from Adin-kun!!”

“Ahh, it’s Aria Feruste! We have to run!”

“I won’t let you escape! How many times do I have to say, don’t get close to Adin-kun?!”

…Honestly, this usual chaos gives me a sense of peace.

With Aria-san, Milena-san, Shuteridone-san, Etenela-san… I’m truly blessed with wonderful people around me.

I opened the door to the adventurer’s guild, and when the sunlight hit my eyes, I glanced back. The four of them were watching my back.

Aria-san, who met my gaze, smiled gently and said,

“Adin-kun, once you complete the quest, we’ll celebrate you so much.”

“Thank you.”

“Alright, go on and do your best!”

“I will!”

With that, I responded cheerfully and left the adventurer’s guild, heading for my quest.

—The target for the quest was a dragon.

I had expected the day would come when I would fight a dragon, but now that it had arrived… I don’t think I could have won back then, but now, with everything I’ve learned, I was finally able to defeat the dragon.

Exhausted but determined, I made my way back to the adventurer’s guild.

From today, I would be an S-rank adventurer, but I didn’t expect much to change in my daily life.

However—this place, for me, is peaceful and happy… and I’ll continue to spend time with Aria-san and the people I hold dear.

With that in mind, I opened the door to the adventurer’s guild.

The story blends these two genres seamlessly, and this is the first time I’ve completed a work that combines fantasy and rom-com in this way. It has been a great personal experience to tackle a fantasy rom-com.

Up until now, I had mostly written rom-coms set in the real world, but this story gave me the opportunity to try writing a fantasy rom-com. Personally, I feel like my range as a writer has expanded, and I’m very happy about that.
