Chapter 39: Enjoying the Small Ocean!
After exploring various fish tanks with Milena-san, we arrived at the zone featuring tanks with monsters. Although they were described as safe, observing monsters was still a rare opportunity and worth the visit.
Our first tank featured a creature that appeared to be a small fish at first glance, but it emitted electrical pulses periodically.
“This kind of monster would be quite dangerous in a sea where electricity is prevalent,” I remarked.
“This monster usually forms schools, and since it’s commonly observed in large numbers outside the Safety Ocean, it’s essential to have lightning protection when entering normal seas,” Milena-san explained.
“Got it…”
While the Safety Ocean’s armor shop didn’t account for monsters, other places selling swimwear might offer protective gear against such creatures.
As we continued to view the other tanks, Milena-san provided insights and countermeasures for each monster.
“You know a lot about these things, Milena-san.”
“I’ve accumulated knowledge from various books,” she said modestly.
Just then, I noticed an intriguing gate labeled “Waterland.”
“…What’s this gate?”
“It’s a place where exceptional magic users from various countries perform water magic displays. I believe this is the time for their performances, so would you like to check it out?”
“Definitely!”
Milena-san and I opened the gate and walked through. The area beyond was reminiscent of an arena but with a different vibe—less about combat and more about showcasing.
I wasn’t sure if anyone could match Aria-san’s level, but I expected to be impressed…
“Aria Feruste here. I came to this place, abandoning my time with Adin-kun, but honestly, I want to go back soon—so, just enjoy quickly!”
As soon as we entered the Waterland, the audience area was inundated with a massive amount of water, and a loud round of applause erupted from the crowd.
“—Wait, is that Master!?”
I was stunned by the unexpected sight. What was Aria-san doing here!?
And she was in the center of it all…!
“Well, it’s not surprising if Aria-san was invited, given her exceptional magical prowess,” Milena-san said.
“That’s true, but…”
I hadn’t expected to see Aria-san here, and her performance involved using her immense magical power to create a dramatic display with water magic. The sheer scale of her performance was impressive and had an impact of its own.
“…Hmm?”
Aria-san seemed to have noticed me and shouted in surprise.
“Eh!? A-Adin-kun!? Did you come to see my performance!? I-I should have prepared more seriously…! But, there’s still some time left, so I’ll use it to—Milena…?”
Aria-san’s gestures and movements suddenly stopped as she noticed Milena-san next to me. She pointed towards Milena-san.
“…It seems like we should step aside.”
“…Yes, I think so.”
Milena-san and I quickly exited the area, leaving the Small Ocean behind. Despite the unexpected turn of events…
“Milena-san, I had a great time today. Thank you for the valuable experience.”
“No, I should thank you. I’m very happy that I could spend time with you. If you’d like, let’s plan another outing together sometime.”
“Yes!”
After parting ways with Milena-san in front of the guild, I headed back to the lodging. There, I found an upset Aria-san waiting for me.
