Chapter 33: Aria-san Doesn’t Want to Allow It!
“A-Adin-kun! What do you mean by ‘human source’!?”
I was puzzled by Aria-san’s shock, especially since I had just mentioned wanting to protect Etenela-san. Still, I decided to speak plainly.
“It’s just that I want to help Etenela-san.”
“No, that’s not acceptable, Adin-kun!”
Aria-san moved closer and grabbed my shoulder as she said this.
“Even if Aria-san says otherwise, I want to help Etenela-san… If you think I’m being brainwashed—”
“I’m calm now after the shock, and I realize it was my mistake! I assumed you were brainwashed based on circumstantial evidence, but thinking it over, there’s no way you could have been brainwashed with the little magic that was used on you in such little time. You haven’t been brainwashed… I’m sorry.”
“Aria-san…”
It was a relief that the misunderstanding seemed to be cleared up, but—
“But!”
Aria-san continued, her voice intense.
“Giving a human source to that succubus is absolutely not allowed! That’s a firm no!”
“Why not?”
“Why? Well, it’s just…!”
Aria-san’s face turned red and she struggled to find the words.
At that moment, Etenela-san, standing next to me, said with amusement, “Wow, even Aria Feruste can make such a face? Don’t worry, if you give me just one day, I’ll make sure to teach Adin everything he needs to know.”
“Absolutely not!”
“Really? But I’m sure Adin would be happier with me. A succubus’s body is designed for that, after all… Well, he might find that he won’t be satisfied with just humans after this.”
“People are meant to be with people!”
“Then I’m meant to be with Adin.”
I didn’t quite understand what the two were arguing about, but at least the mood had shifted from a fighting atmosphere to one of conversation, which was a relief.
“I want to set this woman on fire right now…”
Just as I thought such a thing, Aria-san uttered a threatening remark. However, I knew that only Shuteridone-san could calm Aria-san down in situations like this.
As I debated whether to call Shuteridone-san, Aria-san shouted:
“Hey! Shuteridone, don’t just stand there silently—say something!”
Although Aria-san likely had different intentions than mine, her turning to Shuteridone-san was convenient. Now, I hoped Shuteridone-san could calm Aria-san down…
“I’m not an expert in such matters.”
“Huh! What are you saying in such an important situation!?”
“I said exactly what I said.”
“Seriously!”
“Adin’s surroundings seem weak in that regard… Given the pretext of needing magic or human sources to survive, it might not be long before it happens with Adin too… You should quickly become one with another, both physically and emotionally—”
“Etenela-san…?”
“It’s nothing.”
I briefly saw her lips curve into a smile, but I probably just imagined it.
“Anyway, Adin, let’s go somewhere we can be alone. I feel like I might collapse soon if I don’t get a source of magic or a human source soon.”
“Alright, let’s hurry—”
“Absolutely not! No matter what circumstances make Adin-kun want to help that succubus, you should only give magic! I don’t even like the idea of your magic entering that succubus’s body, but it’s better than a human source!”
Aria-san shouted this loudly, and Etenela-san sighed before replying.
“Then that’s fine for now. Adin, let’s go somewhere we can be alone—”
“I said no!”
After another round of arguing between Aria-san and Etenela-san, we settled on giving Etenela-san some of my magic instead. We then decided to go have a meal together, where Aria-san, Shuteridone-san, and I would discuss about Etenela-san further.
