Episode 10: Aria is angry!
“Ma-Master…”
As I murmured, Aria-san switched her expression from that icy stare to a smile when looking at me.
“Adin-kun! You acted quickly on what I said! I couldn’t believe it when I overheard your conversation with Milena. But when you said, ‘My mentor is definitely Aria-san,’ I almost burst out in joy!”
“I-I see.”
It seems Aria-san overheard everything Milena-san and I talked about… I didn’t even notice that I was being followed at all.
Beside me, Milena-san, despite Aria-san’s appearance, remained calm and spoke.
“Aria-san, why did you suddenly use water magic on me?”
Aria-san shifted her gaze from me to Milena-san and returned to her cold expression as she spoke.
“Milena, do you know what makes me most angry?”
“I wonder.”
“Trying to take Adin-kun away from me. Milena was attempting that… So, this time, I won’t hold back.”
“I merely judged that I am more suitable as Adin-san’s mentor than Aria-san since I could send Adin-san on quests when compared to Aria-san.”
“Even though you don’t understand my feelings?”
“Are you not trampling on Adin-san’s feelings with that attitude?”
With those words, Aria-san seemed to reach the peak of her anger, surrounding herself with several orbs of rounded flames.
Although they weren’t very large, each one seemed to contain immense magical power.
“Choosing fire magic to confront me, who manipulates plants with earth magic, is a wise choice… but somewhat disappointing.”
“Disappointing…?”
When Aria-san asked back, Milena-san continued to smile.
“Using fire magic shows that Aria-san sees my earth magic as something to be cautious of, right? Or perhaps, since I’m an elf, I might naturally handle earth magic better than Aria-san.”
“What are you trying to say here?”
“Therefore, if Aria-san lacks confidence in beating me with just her earth magic alone, it means that I should be the one to train Adin-san in earth magic.”
After hearing that, Aria-san extinguished the flames she had surrounded herself with and said,
“Fine, I’ll handle you in the same earth magic that you’re so good at.”
“I thought you’d say that, Aria-san.”
Milena-san said with a smile to Aria-san, but… I felt a bit worried.
“Master, is it okay to fall for such provocation? Milena-san is really good at earth magic…”
“Thank you for your concern, Adin-kun, but it’s okay. Milena and I are on different levels, so I’ll show you how amazing your mentor really is.”
Saying that Aria-san smiled kindly at me.
Seeing that exchange, Milena-san seemed to have something on her mind and pulled me closer, saying,
“Adin-san, instead of Aria-san’s support, my support—”
Before Milena-san could finish her sentence, the roots of the plants in the room suddenly grew rapidly and attacked Milena-san.
She quickly dodged them.
“The match hasn’t begun yet though?”
“Was there supposed to be a signal? Anyway, please don’t harm my precious Adin-kun.”
“He’s precious to me too.”
“No, he’s more precious to me.”
“…In such a cramped space, Adin-kun might be in danger, so shall we change the location?”
“Shall we?”
What’s about t o happen next probably won’t be a simple mock battle, even with the restriction of only using one attribute, they’ll probably end up in a serious fight…
I nervously followed Aria-san and Milena-san out of the room.
